Homer of A-town sports
October 19th, 20129:18 pm
I am at a lost. I was one that said Tex. deal was good. You go for it when you have a chance to win it. Everybody can see how wrong i was in agreeing on that deal at the time.
October 19th, 20129:22 pm
That was a ballsy play by Zito
October 19th, 20129:37 pm
Braves need some attitude. Need some leadership in the dugout. You are losing the most leadership in the dug with Chipper and Hinske. That leadership has to be filled. Need some mean players to come in here. Falcons have Weatherspoon. Braves need a player that can rep like Grimes and Rodgers do for the Falcons. Need some heart like they brought to the Falcons more then big names.
October 19th, 201210:12 pm
Baseball is nothing like Football you can’t be up for 6 games a week for 6 months.
October 19th, 201210:17 pm
Braves need some attitude that Chipper could not give us. Need some i-285 fastball perez attitude in the dug out. Throw at the head and you try to hit me with the ball I take this bat and swing at your head…good times I tell you. Chipper not provide that for us
October 19th, 201210:20 pm
Braves fans already rep the town with the new bad boys of baseball attitude. The Braves players need to follow our lead and get some toughness. Hell I even seen Cox get thrown out of the stands that sad FRI.. Braves need to get mean.
October 19th, 201210:26 pm
If you watch the replay in slow-mo I swear it was Cox that hit the ump in the head with the mini Liq bottle. Love Bobby Cox
October 19th, 201210:29 pm
Giants showing some ‘WANT!’
October 19th, 201210:33 pm
Giants are playing a team that finished 6 back of the Braves. Both these teams are clowns. Braves were done in by the umps in the 7th to let the 12 for 12 dream be a story for the ws. Just like N.dame getting the call of a no TD last week for the win. It is TV ratings and umps and refs walk the line to the tune of the ratings on tv
October 19th, 201210:34 pm
Myers is not being traded for anybody
October 19th, 201210:36 pm
Yep Myers is a pipe dream of a thought
October 19th, 201210:38 pm
The fact that Cody Ross’ name was mentioned is sick. The way he snubbed us last year. No way. The fans wouldnt have it! Throw more stuff on the field. lol
October 19th, 201210:39 pm
LOL tell them norris besides he is in talks with boston again but I like you attitude
October 19th, 201210:40 pm
did Cody hurt your feelings?
October 19th, 201210:42 pm
That is right he hurt our feelings and now he stuck with tessie boston, Braves don’t need his kind
the Braves could probably get the Royals to stop laughing and not hang up if they started with Simmons and Teheran/Delgado or if they mentioned Meds or Beachy.
think of what it would have taken for the Braves to trade Heyward just before his first season in Atlanta. Then consider that the Royals have no payroll flexibility and value their young players even more than the average team
October 19th, 201210:47 pm
Easy Brian, they may jump on those names and i am kind of fond of those names, lol, They would jump like constanza on seinfield claiming he the frogger champ
Royals have been touted as having just about the best system around for years now, but still lose all the time in the AL
DOWN ON THE FARM
LHRP RYAN BUCHTER [1.80 ERA] 1.0 IP, 0 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 0 SO.
SS NICK AHMED [.422 BA] 1-4, 1 R, 1 RBI , 1 BB, 1 E [2, throw].
DH ED SALCEDO [.158 BA] 2-5, 1 R, 1 2B , 2 SO, 1 SB .
SAL:CEDO’s beginning to stir in the batter’s box, but i see they let him on the field as infrequently as possible. His glove might also explain the MIA quality of one NICK AHMED whose BA is impressive.
October 19th, 201210:48 pm
October 19th, 201210:49 pm
I have said it b4 Salcedo is a big let down but Ahmed is 2 yrs away at best
October 19th, 201210:50 pm
Some real wackos on this show!
NO Toronto has a real serious Farm team. No joke. Love to tap into that system
sounds like here
October 19th, 201210:54 pm
Braves fans already broke bad like Walter White now it is time to get our dark passenger like Dexter and do some things in 13
October 19th, 201210:55 pm
I’m assuming about 60 people here post on a regular basis. I’m just curious as to IF the South(Not South Florida) really cares about MLB at all? Now I know they like the Braves but let’s just say IF the Braves are not in the League Championship series does anyone besides transplanted people from Northern cities care at all about the post season. It appears Monday-Friday in the Fall is spent talking about Saturday, Saturday is a Holy Day of Obligation and Sunday you get over Saturday and get ready for Monday-Friday all over again. It would be very interesting to see how division series would match up with Miss State-LSU and how World Series(Without Atlanta) matches up with Florida-Georgia. Major League Baseball in the Deep South–exclusive of Atlanta–is a regional cult sport similiar to hockey.
October 19th, 201211:00 pm
Lou you smarter then me and lost me on that but i am pizzed we lost the thrashers and UGA will always let me down but the Braves have broke our heats for for 20 yrs but here we are talking about them. The Braves have the most die hard fans of any fans. A tomahawk in one hand and a broom in the other is how we live our life
October 19th, 201211:03 pm

October 19th, 201211:07 pm
I am really counting on Cunningham to take that step and be on the roster late in the season
October 19th, 201211:10 pm
Tina Turner told us we don’t need another hero, just a leader that says losing is not a option
October 19th, 201211:11 pm
Rev needs to step it up… that .167 avg. isn’t looking good right now
October 19th, 201211:12 pm
Die hard Braves fans? Hardly. They’re very good fans but no where near the level of Red Sox, Cubs, Phillies, Cards, etc.
October 19th, 201211:15 pm
More Wren see the less I know, the more I just let it go.
October 19th, 201211:17 pm

October 19th, 201211:27 pm

October 19th, 201211:30 pm

October 19th, 201211:32 pm

October 19th, 201211:52 pm
Is there no way we can get rid of this moronic creep? Where is DOB when you need him?
Not sure I can stand another night full of hundreds of his meaningless crap posts.
October 19th, 201211:54 pm
I speak the truth and THE PARTY IS OVER COMMUNIST BOY FREEDOM OF THE PRESS
October 19th, 201211:56 pm
Time to catch the season finale of Boss, which I recorded in the outer chamber… hate to see it end so quickly…

October 20th, 201212:03 am

Not gonna be many stay around here long having to put up with this ignorant crap
October 20th, 201212:04 am
Nobody can take me out. I speak the truth and i am not scared of the forced black built ,money owned by China country to stop my freedom of the press.
October 20th, 201212:10 am
no politics here nitwit
October 20th, 201212:11 am
We need to do what it takes to get Olt. Then we’d have the makings of a good young infield (minus second base) for quite awhile. Of course if we could move Prado back there we would be set in the infield.
October 20th, 201212:14 am
Is OLT up for the Braves to get him?
October 20th, 201212:19 am
I had to deal with Barns under the table hand shake to take our state flag away so I agree enough of politics so lets talk baseball. Anybody?
October 20th, 201212:22 am
I say what you not like you communist cry DOB to shut me up. Never mind freedom of the press. Clowns I think Wren and Fg are doing a great job, I like Uggla and it not fit in your little minds that somebody can think like that
October 20th, 201212:23 am
Would you take Troy Tulowitski and Tyler Colvin from the Rockies for Simmons and Teheren?
October 20th, 201212:25 am
bravedan NO imo
October 20th, 201212:27 am
Dude has got the worse case I’ve ever seen (Romnesia)
October 20th, 201212:31 am
Yeah I’d hate to give up Simmons too. I’m setting here bored and thinking of decent options.
October 20th, 201212:35 am
Chipper a great player but not a leader. Braves need to go after pitching,,,I think Greinke. I don’t think Willingham or Pagon is the ans. and that is to much for yall to think about. So yall beg to stop my freedom of speech. Unreal. I want to make a play at Trumbo and yall beg to shut me up
October 20th, 201212:37 am
I like to see a move for Revere and Fowler. 2 homegrown products that should of never been able to get out of our state IMO
October 20th, 201212:42 am
Save the money and make a big deal at the break
sigh… such great wisdom
October 20th, 201212:56 am
Braves are in a dangerous position this off season.
October 20th, 20121:07 am
wow, there really is no reason to jump into this. nice job homer.
the weekend night shift has really gone south.
October 20th, 20121:12 am
FL beat sc this weekend and the cocktail pary will be owned by the dawgs but really after that performance against the ole ball coach can us uga fans think we really that good?
October 20th, 20121:16 am
I mean SC beat FL and then we beat FL. but how did SC beat us down after we already hurt from Fri. I don’t get how our team put up 40 plus pts and not show up for SC. but the season is not over
October 20th, 20121:18 am
GN GREAT BRAVES FANS HOLD YOUR HEAD HIGH FANS
October 20th, 20121:46 am
Hello everyone! DOB – Could you do us a favor, and ban this clown. Homer of A-town sports comes on here, and is arogant, rude, and talks about nothing, and argues with everyone on here, and his post are pathetic. This clown is annoying…… Please do us a favor, and ban him. Thanks………Peace my friends, and “Go!!!!!Braves!!!!!” Talk tomrrow……
October 20th, 20122:30 am
I’m afraid if you ask DOB to ban every poster that is, arogant, rude, and talks about nothing, and argues with everyone on here, and his post are pathetic, there won’t be anyone left!
October 20th, 20123:03 am
DOB – Read your post on Justin Upton. I would consider him for a couple of Braves prospects. Hope Wren, and Braves look into it. Good hitter…… Peace Out, and “Go!!!!!Braves!!!!!” Talk tomorrow……
Bay Area Steve
October 20th, 20123:57 am
I’m only up to 5:00, but RC frickin’ killed it today. The rest fo y’all lost.
October 20th, 20124:08 am
“the weekend night shift has really gone south.”
To be fair, we set a fairly low bar…
You asked about domination. Homer’s it. Two of three nights, even. Ownage. Not that it’s good. Apologies for my past (and probable future).
October 20th, 20124:10 am
“arrogant, rude, and talks about nothing, and argues with everyone on here”
Well then: F’ you, too. Oh, wait…
October 20th, 20127:40 am
Ugly overnight, I see….
October 20th, 20128:02 am
They only come out at night. Well, most of the time anyway.
October 20th, 20128:04 am
lol@ the drama.
Heap……you gone yet?!
October 20th, 20128:16 am
I wonder if Gattis could make the team out of spring training as a 3rd catcher/outfielder. I think that is possible if he has a good spring. Is he catching in winter ball?
October 20th, 20128:30 am
Fred – Gattis has never started more than 88 games in pro baseball – he’s not ready yet. He’ll be in the m]inors again. Dude is a longshot at best.
October 20th, 20128:32 am
Follow up to last night’s SOUTH OF THE BORDER
CF TODD CUNNINGHAM [.236 BA] 0-fer the night 1 SO. TODD’s got a hole in his swing that needs fixing. Count on the junk-ball pitchers in the MEXICAN League to find it.
October 20th, 20128:33 am
BTW JORGE CAMPILLO is STILL holding forth down there this season.
October 20th, 20128:36 am
October 20th, 2012
“…..I wonder if Gattis could make the team out of spring training as a 3rd catcher/outfielder. I think that is possible if he has a good spring. Is he catching in winter ball?…..”
Not yet. Last night, he played LF. Has been DHing otherwise. Played 1B once also early in the season.
October 20th, 20129:01 am
Gattis just keeps hitting wherever they send him. In 7 games in Venezuela, he’s 9-for-27 with 4 doubles, 1 HR, league-leading 8 RBI, .593 slugging and .947 OPS in 7games.
If he stays healthy, gonna be interesting to see the numbers he puts up in Triple-A next season — and even more interesting to see how long he stays there before getting his first shot in big leagues.
Gattis in LF, Angel Pagan in CF. Let’s win the World Series!!
October 20th, 20129:06 am
The people I talked to on Twitter overnight are a much smarter crowd than what’s here….
on the overnights. The day-timers are pretty cool
October 20th, 20129:07 am
I think Evan Gattis is worthy of a good look see this spring, very good numbers accumilated in so little time, he got hurt last year, don’t know what the status was in for just 88 games, but look at his production w/ so little time, yet the kicker; 2011- 88 gms, 22hr(s),322BA,338ab’s-53k’s, 2012- 74gms, 18hr’s,.305BA,272ab’s-43k’s. Love the production w/not so many k’s w/at bats ratio. I think he’s very worthy for consideration considering he’s got a good idea of the strikezone, which quite the no. of k’s that several of our lineup showed striking out over 100 times, to 150 times. I think he battles in the count kinda like what we see’n now in the post season. I hope they’ll put em’ on the 40 man, he, Mejia, & Durango. Gattis could be a diamond in the rough.
October 20th, 20129:13 am
Yeah, he could be a diamond in the rough, but the MLB season is long and he has only played 80 or more games in two minor league seasons – thats half of an MLB season. Not sure we know if he has the stamina to be a full time player in the bigs.
But yeah, the offensive numbers are basically awesome. I’m just concerned that we just lost one offensive force that only played in 100 or so games a year and it certainly hurt us. That being said, maybe he could be that RH Hitting platoon partner for the LF/3B platoon we’ve discussed with Prado and Francisco.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
