Calling Derek Lilliquist the “greatest hitter pitcher in history” is an ignorant statement to make. How can you say that about any pitcher when Babe Ruth was a pitcher originally.

Let’s be honest, how many times have we seen this:

Braves 2 runs on 5 hits
Cards 3 runs on 2 hits

Since the game isn’t over yet, I will maintain that the Braves can and will come back and win. There will be more baseball in Atlanta this season!!

I’m afraid to say, this may be the game. They look snake bit again. What a way to lose a game 3-2 on an error by the guy retiring. Can’t make this stuff up.

After having seen just way too many DP’s, pop-ups, and K’s with RISP, I don’t mind a squeeze there at all. Better to have tried something. Leave all on the field.

The Braves have to hold here because they are not getting any good looks on this pitcher. It will take a miracle to score 2 runs to win the game.

Fredi should remove Chipper from the game so that he can get a good start on the interstate system on his way out of town. He damn sure ain’t doing the team any favors by hanging around.

12 outs left in the season.
Chipper wasn’t nervous he knew it was his time to go. The problem is he took Braves with him.
Costly play.

Heyward and Prado arent doing anything. IF cards score a run or two more then that seals the deal.

It’s the 6th in a 3-2 game, it’s not game over, lol

TheOnlyBravesFan

October 5th, 2012
6:41 pm

I highly doubt that it was a safety squeeze. Freddie wasn’t running. Fredi’s protecting Simba (though he didn’t protect Tyler earlier)

And when we trail after 6, our record is pretty poor. Cards do well when leading after 6. :(

An early footnote if the Braves can’t come back: the extra Wild Card team in 2012 was Bud Selig’s decision. It was going to happen no matter what in 2013 but the clubs gave Selig the option of adding it this year (that is why the Wild Card winners open the Divsion Series at home… the original 2012 sked was based on a single Wild Card winner only). Because the Orioles and Rangers finished tied, there was going to be a one-game playoff in the AL anyway this year. So the Braves are the ONE team in major league baseball impacted by Selig’s decision in a negative way (notwithstanding the Division Series scheduling and match-up changes). It would just figure, wouldn’t it?
