When ilook at that play, Ithink Simmons is a complete IDIOT for what he did. Clearly he was in the grass and it looked as if he tried to get an interferrence! I still cant understand why a safety squeeze inthat situation. What would the Braves be if they actually had a good manager? Cox cost us at leat 2 more championships and now Gonzalez with a dumb ass call for a safet squeeze with a slow runner on third and the pitcher due up next!

Not a good spot for a safety squeeze. Overmanaging by Fredi. Bad baserunning by Simmons who clearly moved onto grass for the throw. And while, it was a correct call by the umpire, I have always hated that rule.

Well I’ve been tough on Fredi too, but a fair question: If the safety squeeze is executed properly, do the Braves score there? Was the bunt good enough? I’m not sure the Cards don’t try to go home on that if Freeman is running.
