We’re in good hands with Meds!!
“Medlen’s control not as sharp as normal, which means it is slightly less than stellar!”
he might not look it but I bet every time he opens his mouth some of the overflow butterflies make a break for it
Jeff Schultz @JeffSchultzAJC
For what it’s worth: Medlen (with 2-0 lead) has allowed more than 2 runs only once all season (3 runs, ND in a 4-3 win over Marlins).
I feel quite good. We scored first, and between us, the team that scores first always won. I believe we’ve lost just 10 times when leading after 3. Keep it up!
That TO looked late. We’ll see it again in highlights, but I saw the pitcher pitched and the batter swung, that’s how late it was. You hardly ever see that.
One inning at a time
Medlen has thrown 40 pitches (24 strikes)

Yes sir…thats my boy Meds!
Top of the order….cmon now boys….lets help out the bottom half and put up another crooked number!
Simmons is worth a run a game…..
Lee in S GA
1..2…3 yeah Meds got issues….he is a winner
If you thought it was wrong to start David Ross in the #WildCard game, you don’t anymore: http://atmlb.com/Q21d4u #postseason
October 5th, 20125:53 pm
Meds will keep dealing. Now the bats have to stay awake and pile on the runs
I’ll take a straight number too…
Loved McCann’s reaction to Ross’ homer.
Remember, folks, pitchers now are taught to excecute the pitch during a called timeout in order to avoid injury. The Cards won’t cry about it; Lohse just followed through instead of suddenly stopping and possibly injuring himself. Headsy gambit by ROSS THE BOSS!!!
Long suffering Bravo Fan

Negative Nellies, please root for the team or shut up! Please!
Hammer the Homer
need 2 more like the last one………………………..
Thats the All-Star Bourn…
Ross’s HR came in only his 5th postseason plate appearance. He was 0-3 with a walk before that.
October 5th, 20125:55 pm
Our best 8 right now means starting Ross… at least it appears so right now.
And Bourn gets a hit. Wonder if we hit and run or at least attempt a steal… wouldn’t be against it.
Waffle House or Bust
Am I really watching this game with no volume? YES!
Chop (to the playoffs)
Way to go Bourny the disrupter.
What did ya’ll expect Mac to do..damn
With Melina behind the plate, don’t expect Bourn to try to steal. Hit and run with Prado is a possibility.
I dropped my fried twinkie
I hear conspireosy theories coming from Mizzou already
October 5th, 20125:56 pm
So if the Braves end up winning, will this game be dubbed “The Immaculate Time Out”?
October 5th, 20125:57 pm
Jayson Stark @jaysonst
David Ross 4 HR in last 51 AB, Brian McCann 4 HR in last 160 AB. #forwhat itsworth
Now Stark is giving them something to b*tch and whine about if they lose….
Stark? I’ve had three Braves fans text me already the the Cards got screwed on that one.
Doesn’t really matter how you look at it Count….
Kellogg gave Rossy the time…..
He’s the only guy in the park who matters
PRado should been bunting all the way. getting runner to 2nd was huge.
No need for something extra here Prado, calm down…
October 5th, 20125:58 pm
Why did I feel like I heard you in Herm Edwards voice delivering that last line….

Man, Lohse pulled a string on Prado and fooled him on a changeup with two strikes!
Lohse carved up Prado there, looked bad.
October 5th, 20125:59 pm
Let’s go Chippa!!
What happened to guys doing what is in their game and needed to help the team?!
I don’t get on Martin much but 2-0 lead he should have been bunting on 2-1 there
Send the runner!!
Ump down right field line holding hand over eyes to block sun
terrible execution by Prado and/or call by the bench. Just bunt him over and get two chances to make it 3-0.
October 5th, 20126:00 pm
Am I missing the part where JHey is trying to be the worst postseason hitter of all time…
FIRST pitch….REALLY Jason…REALLY?!
I don’t like seeing our best hitter (Prado) bunt except in very certain situations.
Shadows at the bast of right field. The right fielder is the only remaining player on the field affected by the sun/shadows now.
October 5th, 20126:01 pm
Nice AB’s there by 2-3-4. What are you doing?
Your fastest player should not still be at first after a leadoff single, I don’t care who’s catching.
Time to drive like a crazy person home to catch the rest of this game….
Adios guys and gals….
LETS GO BRAVES!!
No magic for chipper so far!
Ok, typical braves’ Awfense.
Go! Med Dog!
Man, I hate to waste a lead off hit with Bourn, but come on Meds let’s get another 1,2,3.
make that “base of right field fence!’
THAT’S OK!!! PLENTY OF CHANCES TODAY FOR THE REST OF THE BOYS TO JOIN THE MEDS & ROSS FREIGHT TRAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is that Rich McKay sitting in camera view behind Bravos on-deck circle?
Making the bottom of order look good….
Yeah….pretty bad for 2/3/4…..gotta get it together!
Alright….now I’m out!
Some of you “FG Lovers” are a little pathetic giving him so much credit for starting Ross. That was a no-brainer. He didn’t have much choice really with all things considered. Good grief! If he was such a “managerial wizard” the Braves would have won the title, and not be just playing in the wildcard game.
October 5th, 20126:02 pm
Wasted oppurtunity there with a lead off single by Bourn. Prado should been bunting all the way. Heyward and Chipper needed to have better at bats.
same ole Prado
Prado strikes out, and the pitcher threw one strike. Two balls 6 inch’s off the plate, swing and miss. What a joke.
October 5th, 20126:03 pm
Hi, My name is Dum-Bass and I’m just that…
You are a dum bass
October 5th, 20126:04 pm
‘Some of you “FG Lovers” are a little pathetic giving him so much credit for starting Ross. That was a no-brainer. He didn’t have much choice really with all things considered.’
Yeah. Sitting an all star is a no brainer. That is why you are a dumb asz.
Hope the Braves don’t regret wasting a leadoff single. Meds is looking sharp though.
Agree w ncbrave, you need to put pressure now that you are ahead.Poor execution there. cards would have run for sure at some point.
Dum-Bass: It was a no-brainer to some of us (myself included), but quite a few believed that he would go with his “starting” catcher since he is the best option… Basically said that if BMac could get out of bed,he’d start. No reason to believe otherwise.
I don’t mind being right.
Ok, medlen, get with it….
Dum-bass, you can say it was a no-brainer, but I can almost guarantee you Cox would have played McCann. I think most managers would have. It’s gutsy to go with your backup in a game like this, even if the starter has had a down year.

October 5th, 2012
The best hitter? ROTFLMAO. He struck out and the pitcher threw one strike. Please…….
Falling behind hitters….gonna bite eventually.
October 5th, 20126:06 pm
Carlos Beltran is dialed in at the plate also! One hit and a theft job of a homer by Heyward. Need to keep that in mind as the game progresses. Might have to choose to pitch around him in an RBI situation if necessary.
Chipper? What the hell was that? The curse of Conrad?
Dammit! Good pickup by chipper, bad throw. Darn.
Damn! Chipper turns a sure-fire DP into an error on the throw! That stinks!
October 5th, 20126:07 pm
Not nervous, eh? Go sit down if you don’t care.
Man oh man Chipper has just seemed out of it these past few weeks.
That throw wasn’t close… come on Meds, shut ‘em down.
Relax Chipper….you are still the man.
Yikes…..and that’s why you don’t waste an opportunity for a run.
Nothing is ever easy for the Braves in October.
October 5th, 20126:08 pm
Great work by Chipper Jones!
Starting to really worry about Meds, he’s really falling behind guys
.400 with RISP the entire season, eh? He’d fit right in on the Braves.
ouch. damn chipper…hope kris can minimize damage
Jeff Kellogg is giving a pitcher-friendly strike zone. Hope Medlen can get the K with it! But, he’s really struggling with his control now! He might be showing some nerves here!
October 5th, 20126:09 pm
if it means them getting a run, I’ll take a double play now
Can’t give a lineup like this chances, we don’t know what a lineup like this is.
That sucks. Missed opportunity with Bourn hurts. Craig strikes.
See what happens when u f up
No one out and Chipper’s error really affected Medlen. This would be a brutal blow to Chipper if the floodgates open!
Chipper may just have screwed himself.
Don’t start with the nay-sayers!!! Stay positive and trust in Medlen and our defense.
yikes how about a mound visit
October 5th, 20126:10 pm
Meds pitching a little high today
Uh, pitching coach anyone? Catcher visit?
