Well, the Chipper era is over. Congrats for a great career !! And congrats to the Cardinals. Hard to compete against a great team like the Cardinals, your own terrible defense, and horrible calls by the umpires. But we all knew anything could happen in a 1 game playoff. I don’t like it. Cards deserved the win, but didn’t deserve to be there.

I will not spend another dime on major league baseball until they fire the owner-by-proxy commissioner. All of Selig’s tenure has included decisions that are all about the money for the owners including ignoring steroids until his hand was forced. This one game play-in when they didn’t even have a tie is not baseball, it is simply a dice roll. And I have posted this ever since I heard the announcement of this farce so it has nothing to do with the outcome of this particular game.

AGREED BTW JOE SIMPSON is knocking ATLANTA fans. I used to like him, now he should just SHUT UP
I am not at all embarrassed about the fans throwing sh-t on the field, though. When fans in Cleveland and Philly do it they are called “passionate”. When ATL fans don’t, they are called indifferent and fair-weather. F that. ATL fans do care. Big props to the crowd.
This game turned on what was really a 3 run error by Chipper. Saddly, I’ll always think of that play when I think of his last game. I just hope he doesn’t make excuses. This loss is more on him than any blown call.

And so starts another lost weekend for Atlanta. Georgia will choke tomorrow in Columbia. Something will happen to the Falcons that will change their season. This city is f’n cursed. What did we do?
I have not paid to go to a MLB baseball game since the Strike but I have seen maybe 10 games live since that time. I will now not take free tickets to a game after that crap. I usually listen on the radio when i am in the car but that is over too. Will not watch much MLB baseball on TV unless there is NOTHING on TV.
Good riddance boys, you deserve to lose when you play like complete crap. Where were those hits when bases were loaded? This team no matter the name on the back of the jersey is just set up to fail. It’s been that way since the beginning of time, so why change now? I don’t have it in me any longer to be a fan of this team, fans deserve more from the teams they spend money on and support.
How ironic it is that MLB’s first one-game wildcard playoff is potentially decided by an umpiring call that was both atrocious and back-breaking for the Braves. I didn’t like the idea of this stupid format coming in and I will NEVER be a fan of it.
As for the Braves, they dug themselves a hole they couldn’t climb out of with all those errors. Just an ugly, sad way to see yet another season end. Seriously, those who believe in sports curses have to rank Atlanta at or near the top of the list the past two decades.
WORTHLESS DAN ends the embarrassment. The Braves…another CHOKE effort. Piss down your leg, Atlanta. Nice job. Very professional. But then, this team showed its choke mentality in 2011.
Sad, pathetic effort. Nice final game, Chipper. Great ending. Total failure tonight. It will be fun to remember this one, won’t it, Chipper?
BUT FREDI WILL BE PROUD TOMORROW, THOUGH.
MLB umpire Holbrook is a joke. Torre and Joe G. will decide that the call was right. MLB has no balls either.
We might have still lost the game, but it sure hurts that the umps make such a terrible call on such an important game.
New baseball rule: OUTFIELD FLY RULE. If you think you want to help an infielder that can’t seem to find the ball hit into the outfield, give him a break and call it an out.
Indeed, Holliday said he thought he heard the third baseman call him off. But the outfield umpire signaled the out about the same time the third baseman gave up on the play. So, it is possible that Holliday heard the umpire. Either way, a very wrong call.
Happy trails, Chipper. See you in Cooperstown in 5 years. You have more class in your little finger, than the scum that littered the field with garbage tonite! MERCY
Joe Simpson is an embarrassment. He and Chip Carey have been carrying the water for this pathetic ownership group for several years now. I wish he would go back to Seattle.
Don’t like the format. No way should any team play 162 and be gone after 1. Braves shot themselves three times in the foot and the ump made a horrible call. At least in seattle those guys were in over their head but these are suppose to be the best umps left. Protect your umps mlb. Little league has it

Worst call I’ve ever seen………but who hasn’t seen this before, another team celebrating a big win on an Atl home field. Can’t imagine trying to sell tickets next year. “Hey we make the playoffs and lose immediately”
I hate it but this loss is on Chipper more than anything or anybody else. His 3 run error was the turning point. I hate it but I’ll always mark the end of his career by that play.
Hope you all are embarassed by that pathetic display of poor sportsmanship in front of the entire nation. The MLB should put a hefty fine the Braves for not clamping down with security.

Yeah, the errors were the real story…..but having BMAC coming up with bases load with one out is something none of us would dread…..BS call……we will never know what would of happened and that is a shame.
ONly losers come on another team’s site and talk s**t when their team has NEVER, EVER, EVER won a championship (and was so broke that they were OWNED by MLB at one time).
St Louis Cardinals – MLB’s best illegitimate playoff team 2 years running.
Baseball has basically been ruined over the last 18-whatever years since the strike. Wild-card teams, interleague play, steroids, awful national coverage, over-exposure of Yankees and Boston. When a team like the 2011 and 2012 Cardinals are rewarded for having the 4th and 5th best records in their league over the course of season. A great, unique game ruined for the dollar.

Yeah, the errors were the real story…..but having BMAC coming up with bases load with one out is something none of us would dread…..BS call……we will never know what would of happened and that is a shame.

Yet another chapter in the Braves ignominious post season history book.
So sad.

Brave New World, I’m not a drinker. I think the one using my name may be a little bit up on the booze, though.

“Hope you all are embarassed by that pathetic display of poor sportsmanship in front of the entire nation.”
Embarrassed? Proud of Braves fans for maybe the first time ever.

ONly losers come on another team’s site and talk s**t when their team has NEVER, EVER, EVER won a championship (and was so broke that they were OWNED by MLB at one time).
St Louis Cardinals – MLB’s best illegitimate playoff team 2 years running.

The Cardinals did not win this game – The Braves (with help from umps) lost it. Nonetheless, congratulations to the Cards.

A loss by UGA could turn this weekend around for me, though!
