Exactly. Not just a bad call, it was the ball game.
A call like that ended the NFL Ump strike in 48 hours.

The way a protest works is MLB officials review the protest and the rule application being protested. In this case, I am certain that Fredi’s protest is that neither the third base nor left field umpires made the call until after the ball landed in the outfield grass. The point of the rule is to benefit the base runners and by the call being made that late, it hurt the offensive team (which is the opposite of the rule’s intention). The base runners were halfway and able to either advance on a blown catch (which is what they did) or return to their bases.
If MLB officials uphold the protest, then likely tomorrow the game is resumed with one out and Simmons on first with bases loaded.

I hope to god Bourn ends up on the Nationals. That means for 4 months out of the season they will have a black hole at the top of their lineup. Might be the only way we beat them.
I have ZERO desire for Wren to sign Bourn. Especially at what he’s going to cost.

Only other call that was as bad as this was Minnesotal first baseman physically pulling Ron Gan on off first base in 1991 WS, tagging him, and Gant being called out. Left field umpires has NO BUSINESS calling infield fly. Hear that Joe Simpson!

So if protest is upheld when would they decide this. Bad call by ump but in the era of hd tv this is on baseball for not implementing some way to protect the umps from themselves like every other league does. Braves gave the cards great help and the umps gave them the extra push to the finish line in this bs wild card game. Why not just give the teams with the best record in each league a weekend bye to the 2nd round. Then the wildcard teams face the other division winners best 2 out of 3. To simple I guess.

They said Bourn at .319 was the leading hitter with RISP. So, if I think logically, he will not get a hit .681 of the times. You guys, need to change to another sport. If you are getting a hit 1/3 of the time, you might end up in the HOF but that also means you were unsuccessful .6667 of the times.
Just think that Matt Ryan only completed 1/3 of his passes.
