Jason Heyward just earned a flair to left center off a left-handed relief specialist! Can we get a finish!
6 Finger 2 tooth Braves Fan
Yeah braves! It wuz da Tommy Hawk chop done did it. Maw, leave mah pants front be!!
Just a single chipper.
This is why you play baseball
October 5th, 20127:32 pm
Really chipper? that was soooo weak!
1st pitch to the 2nd baseman. Strand 2 in RISP. Sigh…
“Seriously, all the homers come on here and all they can say is “dont be a fan then” really? Maybe you all don’t get disappointed because you all are use to failure yourselves. If you all aren’t pissed off, then you have no f’n business being on here calling other people out. So just shut the hell up.” Bravesfaninwis
Oh, shove it, child. Sounds like Honey Boo Boo’s got more intelligence than you. I know I’m not a failure, I have a great job, great life. I can say more than don’t be a fan, boy, but I’m not going to risk getting banned. Someone get that boy his pacifier, before he breaks something. We’re all pissed, but many of us know they CAN come back from this.
first pitch swings are some of the best things thing baseball
October 5th, 2012
fredi has EVERYTHING to do with it because he doesn’t have his players’ heads in the game. wild sailing throws and pitches. skipper’s fault
Are you telling me that Fredi’s faulk of Chipper not been in the game…..
YOU DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT BASEBALL kid
geez first swing groundouts look bad
and that’s that
Good contact. Did not push the ball far enough right
I knew he was going to swing at the first pitch…unreal.
CHIPPER DON’T GO OUT TO INFIELD AGAIN PLEASE!
Damn! Chipper had his chance for redemption and grounded out to leave two on the sacks!
Chipper how’d y’all get yer name?? Cause you all belongs in da Wood Chipper??
he looked like he didn’t even care.
Hammer the Homer
darn you………………Chipper choke Jones…………………….
Chipper checked out in the 3rd
Last at bat. Last game. Goat. I wouldn’t wish that an anyone. Jeeeze.
Chipper is awful today – yeah he’s had a great career, but he has been awful today.
Lil' Barry Bailout (Unexpectedly Revised Downward)
Pretty strong effort there, Chipper.
It was crucial that we get at least one of those guys in. And we don’t. Go figure. That right there is pretty standard of any Braves team over the past twenty years. Blargh . . .
October 5th, 20127:33 pm
chipper wears the albatross
Chipper was not as DIALED IN as I had hoped.
Black clouds are swirling…
Thats the way Chipper should go. Man, the guy couldn’t care less anymore.
retire just NOW
it just wasn’t meant to be fans. Sorry, but you have to look at it that way or you’re beating up yourself for something out of your control.
Just wasn’t meant to be. Except it and move on.
Hard hit right at him!
He has been a great player, too bad he has to end with this type of team effort.
Freeman, ugly, Ross, Simmons, and McCann hitting in the 8th. Have to turn over the lineup and get back to bourn
At least we got one. Keep plugging away. 6 outs
I thought only M. Vick could embarass us……way to go Chipper1. Kharma is a total Beeatch.
Great Chipper! WHat a JOKE!
Braves = Choke.
That was his last at-bat folks.
And that Chipper at bat could very well be the last in his illustrious career. A weak groundout to second.
October 5th, 20127:34 pm
Maaaaww! Ah said leave mah pants front be!! Ah don want ta father no more sisters!!
John Kincade @JohnKincade
Was that the last at bat for Chipper Jones in his career? It will take a rally to get him up again.
Jon Heyman @JonHeymanCBS
chipper grounded out, ending threat. feeling is more larry than chipper at the moment. #cards lead, 6-3.
This is a great way for Chipper to end his career… not saying that if not for the error we win, but that sure sucked away the momentum
First pitch swinging there is so god damn dumb.
What a weak end to a great career.
Think the fans should have their ticket money refunded on the way outta the gates !
The A Bomb
CHIPPER CANT RETIRE SOONE NOUGH. BASEHIT WOULD MADE IT A 1 RUN GAME.
October 5th, 20127:35 pm
It’s been fun guys…we’ll do it again next year. At least I don’t have to look at HomoSolo’s vomit for a few months. Nephew, I will not miss you either.
Two in scoring position…HOF Chipper, whose error led to two / three runs…spits it out on the first pitch….Another memory bank moment, for Chipper’s last at bat. One hell of a way to end your career. You had your shot…you couldn’t do anything with it. Sad.
I will never ever ever EVER see a braves”s playoff game again…
Thanks Hoss. Way to swing at the first pitch and ruin a rally just like your error ruined this game. I bet this is the way you wanted to go out huh Hoss? Atta boy.
Just for fun, I decided to look up Chipper’s career playoff stats. .288 BA, 13 HR, 47 RBI.
Also, I found out that this was Chipper’s first playoff game since 2005. Hadn’t thought about it before.
When we really need Chipper to do something he comes up short. He’s supposed to be the veteran providing leadership in these situations, but instead his shakiness has got the whole team playing nervous baseball.
Chipper is a notorious playoff choker. NOTORIOUS. Jeez, he has a chance to redeem himself for letting the Cards get the upper hand and he GROUNDS OUT meekly on the first pitch NO LESS. GO HOME U SUCK and Have sucked 4 YEARS in post season play
October 5th, 20127:36 pm
hmmm…yeah…hate to see chip go out like this. just sorta sad.
Obviously dese Braves don belong no play offs!
Chipper….not even close.
It is our Atlanta destiny….
Chipper laying down the blueprint on how to go out.
October 5th, 20127:37 pm
Man, we got NO pitching! Maaaw I said stop!
The Braves are like an I Love Lucy rerun. You know how it’s going to end because you’ve seen the same thing at least a thousands times before.
Seeing eye singles now….
At this point, having Mac or Ross in there doesn’t matter…
Now O’Flaherty looking shaky. Damn . . .
I hope molina hit a homer
their hits have finally matched their run total
Turn out the light, Chipper’s party is over…
You idiots know that NOBODY gets a hit EVERY time right? We wouldnt be where we are without what he did for us this year.
Phil…..get the hell out of here with your BS because no one needs it right now.
October 5th, 20127:38 pm
man he will have to live with this moment for the rest of his days……………give em a Saints Sack to hide under
Other than Ross, the whole team sh!t themselves today. Even Medlen wasn’t as “on”. Any other start this year, he finds a way to get out of that inning without 3 runs scoring. It was a horrible 2 strike pitch to Holliday on the HR making it 4-2. So don’t cry for medlen. He failed as well, but only because of the high standards he set for himself.
But Ross was the only one who realized how big the game was….. and actually stepped up.
Chipper could have atoned for the error right there. Not the best way to go out. I love watching him play but I won’t ever forget his performance tonight.
This is simply a team that has NO winning aura. Yes, they won 90something games, however, it had that ‘walk on a very thin line’ feel to it all year long. A bit like when they made it a couple years ago with Glaus and co. They always choke in the big games…
Chipper swing at first pitch in the 7th with runners on 2nd and 3rd is perfect illustration.
October 5th, 20127:39 pm
Coulda used that earlier… thank goodness Freddie is tall.
When you hit 4th a guy who admits hes tired and ready to leave, what do u expect?
Train Wreck Bystander
Still a pulse… get the paddles…
Chipper Jones- Mr. Anti-Clutch. Has been for most of his post season career.
Uggla almost screwed the pooch on that one as well. Damn . . .
Almost another huge error!
Really, I don’t mind seeing the Cards win this game straight up, I just HATE seeing the braves give it to them with horrible plays.
Freddie Freeman = “adequate” at 1B? My behind…
My son definitely is not growing up a Braves fan. I would rather him grow up a Brewers fan and have no hope versus being let down year after year. Good thing he is to young to witness this crap.
nice throw uggla! lucky you got FF over there, ya bum!
Dan Uggla should never play another game for the Braves.
Excellent save Freddie!
Well done Freddie, only infielder to play good defense. Where was that play earlier chip? lol. Such a bad way for chip to go out. oh well
prado to 2nd?….please?
Uggla is an absolute waste…..
Release the guy and eat his contract…..good grief.
Yeah. All right Ma, let’s go make us a sister!
Chipper just made the play he should have made earlier! Uggla’s throw to first was way high but Freeman bailed him out to record the snag and the tag!
Braves have done it before. Score four with six outs left. It isn’t over. But, it’s getting late!
October 5th, 20127:40 pm
FUGGLA. What a loser. Of course he is on the right team. A team of LOSERS.
Brian from Villa Rica
We all talked about how we would win but deep down we knew we would lose. Nothing clutch from this team in 20 years. To be honest, we are lucky as hell to have the one title that we do. Was born here 42 years ago and the Falcons, Braves and Hawks continue to screw me over and will continue to do so. Curious to see how the Falcons will break my heart this year. These are my teams and this is my life.
Chipper = Post Season BUST
I would rather see Francisco give 100% than Chipper giving 50%!
Worst part is how the Braves have been an epic fail in big games at home.
Turner Field is ZERO advantage for a team that relies on home run “hitters” like Caveman Uggla. He is brutal despite the Sabergeeks seeing some sort of upside.
Braves do well in the regular season but always pull this crap in the playoffs
This loss is on Chipper and Gonzalez.
Chipper for costing us 3 runs and failing to get key hit and Gonzalez for opting to bunt with Simmons and using Durbins.
Pahtetic man. Many of you have more common sense then the moves Gonzalez made
I hope Bourn stays but I know from MLB that Nationals , Giants and NNY are interested. Uggla take anything for him.
October 5th, 20127:41 pm
Chipper cost us this game.
agree with other posters, I can handle the braves losing, but the fact they have given them the game on a silver plate through terrible defense is so frustrating. even then uggla tried to throw it away
It’s mot over yet folks… Gotta play 9… Come on Braves!! Show some fight.
JIM BOWDEN @JimBowdenESPNxm
Looks like Uggla is getting Steve Sax, Chuck Knoblauch disease….ouch
