RBI bunt single with runner at second. Freddy Freeman needed to field that one, but the bunt was about perfectly placed. Nothing else Venters could have done on the play.

I think Hank Jr. said it best –

Fans ask me,
Braves why do you shrink?
Why do you all choke?
Why must you fold when the games mean the most?

So when the fans ask me
How did we get in this condition,
I say, “Hey, c’mon, we’re just carryin on
An old Franchise Tradition!”

What a game to pick to play like this.Hate to see it end this way, but most of us saw it coming. Bud Selig, I hate what you have done to baseball. If St, Louis goes on to win the WS, baseball will have officially become a farce for the benefit that that1 percent we’re always hearing about, including that goofy dude that owners put in charge of this great game. Just shows a 90+ win season means jack crap when u can’t even win a head to head wild card game, at home nonetheless. What a pathetic ass team, just f’n pathetic. Who remembers Conrad’s errors a few years ago? Who will remember the ones today by Chipper, Uggla, and Simmons? Different players, same tired ass routine. The laughing stock of baseball right here. Only played 1 more game than the Marlins, and every other team that was horrible this year. 1 f’n game better. That is what seperates a 90+ win team and a 60+ win team. Un f’n real.

Anybody here a fan of the 1-game elimination right about now? Didn’t think so.

Sad to see Chipper Jones’ career end on the exact same pathetic note as Bobby Cox’s did (because at this point it sure seems headed that way). I wish I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard “Best defense in baseball” this game in regard to an “uncharacteristic error”. And that’s why 1-game eliminations make zero sense. The St. Louis Cardinals just got a GIFT, both by the Braves defense and the fact that they make up 6 or 7 games in the standings in one contest.
