I was a Brave fan when they couldn’t buy a win (back when I was certain Ted Turner kept the team just for a tax right-off). I was a Brave fan in the 1990’s when they went worse to first and started an unprecedented run of post-season appearances and wins. And I’m a Braves fan today — win or lose these are MY BRAVES. I hope they turn it around and win today but, regardless, I am and will be a Braves fan with no apologies to anyone ever.

Simmons records the third error of the game and franikly the Braves are in throw it away mode! Unfortunately, it all started with the error on Chipper which let three runs score even though officially only two were unearned. But, that put the Braves behind the eight ball and the pressure of the one-game playoff game tightened the fielding up big time. Simmons did not field the sharp liner to short cleanly and then rushed his throw (which was the only way to get the out) but with the Cards up three now, I hear Don Meredith tuning up his pipes for his signature song!

Drive by? I’ve been watching this movie on repeat for almost 20 years. The only thing missing is a Danny Bautista dropped fly ball and Eric Gregg’s strikezone.
This was predictable as the sun rising in the East.
Here’s the funny bit of irony….. The Braves will win Medlens first 7-8 starts next year to extend that streak to 30+ games or so. With the lone “loss” being the most important game of the 2012 season.
