So your hall of fame player and your 17millon dollar a year man let their nerves get the most of them in a 1 game elimination situation. adn pitched well enough to win, but the errors and lack of plate presence makes this an easy win for the Cards!
Absolutely critical to prevent a run from scoring at all costs, so you go with your (at-best) fourth-best relief pitcher. Fredis’ not alone…every manager manages like this.
I told you all THE LAST 2 YEARS THE PLAYOFF CURSE OF BROOKS CONRAD HAS STRUCK AGAIN.
IT NEVER FAILS SOMEHOW THE FIELDERS TURN TO STONE WHEN TRYING TO CATCH/THROW A GROUND BALL.
I was a Brave fan when they couldn’t buy a win (back when I was certain Ted Turner kept the team just for a tax right-off). I was a Brave fan in the 1990’s when they went worse to first and started an unprecedented run of post-season appearances and wins. And I’m a Braves fan today — win or lose these are MY BRAVES. I hope they turn it around and win today but, regardless, I am and will be a Braves fan with no apologies to anyone ever.
Somebody call the paramedics. The Braves are choking again. Sorry way for Chipper to go out, with everyone remembering his error as the thing that lost our chances. I’ve said it all year, fg needs to go, maybe this will be the nail in his coffin after that numbskull squeeze. What a dimwit.
Simmons records the third error of the game and franikly the Braves are in throw it away mode! Unfortunately, it all started with the error on Chipper which let three runs score even though officially only two were unearned. But, that put the Braves behind the eight ball and the pressure of the one-game playoff game tightened the fielding up big time. Simmons did not field the sharp liner to short cleanly and then rushed his throw (which was the only way to get the out) but with the Cards up three now, I hear Don Meredith tuning up his pipes for his signature song!
Down by 2 with a runner on 3rd we needed a strikeout in that spot. Bringing in Durbin was dumb! Either leave in Medlen or bring in Kimbrel! Kimbrel will be of no use later.
Done with this team. They are nothing more than a stepping stone to teams in the playoffs. I hope they lose 100 games next season, f’n chokers. Congrats St Louis, you just came into the packed stadium of a team in a high pressure game and completely dominated them. F_ck you Atlanta, you bunch of pathetic ass losers.
I think someone commented earlier that they were scared of Durbin pitching and many of us said that he wont pitch in a close game. he pitches only if its a blowout. Yu bring your worst reliver in when you have hudson minor kimbrel eof avilan and venters??
Another great throw! CHOKE CHOKE CHOKE These are your Atlanta Braves. They were so excited to play…and when they did they pissed down their leg. Quite a bunch. What a joke.
“Glad all the drive-by haters are having so much fun. I guess somebody should.”
Drive by? I’ve been watching this movie on repeat for almost 20 years. The only thing missing is a Danny Bautista dropped fly ball and Eric Gregg’s strikezone.
This was predictable as the sun rising in the East.
Here’s the funny bit of irony….. The Braves will win Medlens first 7-8 starts next year to extend that streak to 30+ games or so. With the lone “loss” being the most important game of the 2012 season.
