I much credence should I give to a guy that thinks its a smart move not to start “Chris McCann” tonight because Meldeen has a special relationship with Ross?

P-town.
Yeah, forget those guys! That team has gotten so freakin’ lucky! My wife (Rangers fan) bet her friend down the street (Cards fan) that the Rangers would win the WS last year. She called and taunted her before game 6. Yep….we made ‘em a steak dinner after the WS was over. I hate, hate, hate the Cardinals!

…although they do have a beautiful stadium. My late brother got to see a game at Old Busch while a student at Washington University….Cards/Cubs, and bought an STL hat (he was still a Braves fan), but he always collected ball caps of team whose games he attended.

Gil,
Granted this was Wikipedia, but in my reading I learned that the reason he made that ill-fated flight was that the corrupt government of Nicaragua was diverting the supplies from previous flights to government officials instead of the people who needed it. So he went with the 4th(I believe) flight to make sure it got where it was supposed to.

The Cards are 12-55 when scoring 3 or less….

Lets see if we can make that one hold up to the law of averages today….

Their highest 2 averages where they score runs, the 1st and 3rd….shut them down early and score a few in the first 3 innings and lets get a W!

I said it, and I still believe it. Catching is a lot more than just throwing out runners. The most important aspect of catching is calling the game. And Mac is one of the best.

No disrespect to Ross, because he is an overall better defensive catcher than Mac, but the difference is not enough to say we are disadvantaged when Mac is in.

I stand by my statement that Ross is only marginally better defensively than Mac.

Mac was awful all year, in all phases….why is irrelevant.

One of the reasons is something I promised McFann I wouldn’t keep saying. Others are clearly injury and probably mechanics. Confidence has to be shot as well. Not shaving that god awful, ugly beard is clearly another. Birth of his child? No excuse.

Bottom line is he stunk it up. He earned a spot alongside Jeff Porter for this evening. Hopefully he bounces back next year.
