Well dumbass if you were an espn yankee homer whom would you pick?
October 4th, 201211:44 pm
If I knew what a “moniket” was I might could live up to it. Don’t know for sure.
October 4th, 201211:45 pm
Prolly the RedSox!
October 4th, 201211:47 pm
Wow, Jim, you could have singled me out for using “mute point”. I wouldn’t have cared. As nolie said, it’s a blog joke. I can assure you I’m intelligent enough to know what a moot point is, but thanks for caring.
October 4th, 201211:51 pm

BTW, my family name of “BASS” has been held in high esteem for many years and all, except the “Dum” ones don’t appreciate it being denigrated or blasphemed. I happen to be one of the “dum” ones due to it being hung on me by a 10th grade buddy years ago. He sat behind me, and after I gave a really stupid answer to a physical sciences teacher, he said, “you really are a ‘dumb Bass’ aren’t you?” I just decided to hang onto it over the years as a form of self-deprecating humor. I dropped the first “b” just to be original and keep people guessing. Looks like it’s working so far.
Night all, hope the Braves win in spite of it’s “managerial wizard”.
October 4th, 201211:57 pm
dude you are totally full of crap under that name just like you have been under every other one you have used here.
October 4th, 201211:59 pm
the rams and the trojans coming through on another thursday two game teaser.
gotta admit that early -14 thing shook confidence.
October 5th, 201212:00 am
hi Uga, gonna be there tomorrow?
Wasn’t concerned about that. Was concerned about the crap way USC was playing
October 5th, 201212:03 am
i am all in tmmrw. going down to the Ted early. i really believe we are dodging a bullet.
i feel much better facing lohse than wainwright.
October 5th, 201212:04 am
Thought you likely would. Enjoy the game and get us a win Uga.
October 5th, 201212:07 am
nolie, i will be there early. i really think we are going to win.
i like the matchup. no kevin brown, no kerry wood, no randy johnson, no mark prior, and no sterling hitchcock.
anyone remember that?
October 5th, 201212:08 am
I don’t get mad at predictions anymore, because no one this side of Heaven actually knows how the playoffs are going to go. Too many variables, not the least of which is some freak injury. Just watch the games and enjoy the ride.
October 5th, 201212:16 am
on the macc thing.
macc in day games .175/.234/.340
ross in day games .347/ .413/.694
that probably also game into play.
October 5th, 201212:18 am
Games that start at 5:00 or later are not considered day games
October 5th, 201212:21 am
it will be a day game somewhere, right?
October 5th, 201212:22 am
Enter your comments here
Stats-wise, no. It will not be considered a day game
October 5th, 201212:24 am
not saying right or wrong, but them are the numbers.
daytime or nighttime.
October 5th, 201212:25 am
Here’s wishing us and then good luck and good play tonight then
October 5th, 201212:26 am
cab, gotta ask since you are a huge fan of meds and macc. do you agree or not who is starting behind the plate?
October 5th, 201212:30 am
All I care about is winning the game.
But you said “daytime or nighttime” but the stats were just for day games… (not wanting to argue…)
October 5th, 201212:33 am
I mean that I don’t stress over the line up on any given day, and I have total faith in Ross’s ability. Do I wish Mac was healthy and playing like I know he can? Of course, as I think most of the folks on the blog do. But I am not going to have any issues with it because it really makes little difference to me who is playing, as long as they can score some runs and win the game.
October 5th, 201212:35 am
and now I am going to shut down and head to bed. Good night all!
October 5th, 201212:39 am
cab, go frickin braves i am all in. this will be our day. we will own it. i am all positive. no frickin negative talk.
i will be down there early and i will frickin chop. i rarely do that. but for #10’s maybe last game i will yell my arse off.
all in braves fans. we won more games this season than i thought possible.
so lets roll. alll in.
October 5th, 201212:43 am
Have a great day, uga! I rearranged one student tomorrow so I’ll see the first half of the game live, listen on the radio on the way to work, and then probably watch the rest on DVR hours later (unless we have either a huge lead, or face a huge deficit, in which case I’ll follow on my phone – or take a radio)…
And time for me to head off…
October 5th, 201212:52 am
i really believe when we win tmmrw. we will roll. just a hunch.
October 5th, 20121:07 am
I bid you all a good night…..may your dreams be organized and enlightened by the opportunity of October baseball in Atlanta….yes, I’m talkin Baseball…..baseball and the Braves, Ga…Ga…Ga….Atlanta baseball……….!!!
October 5th, 20121:09 am
I have waited for the Braves to play in the postseason since we lost to the Giant’s and if we win tomorrow I will be on cloud 9 goooooooo Braves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
October 5th, 20121:34 am
only the playoffs no need for new blogs I assume.
October 5th, 20121:36 am
lane, you are on the wrong blog ACE.
October 5th, 20122:00 am
Decision to start Ross over Mac might come back and haunt us because if you are the Cardinals now pressence of an impactful bat is gone. Now this enables Cardinals to simply pitch around Freeman and Uggla to face Ross Simmons and the pitcher. Basically if you get past Jones you can walk the next 2 guys and then you get 3 rather easy outs. I can see Ross and Simmons coming up in critical situations tomorrow with runners on base and failing to deliver.
Mac had that presence about him where they would pitch to Freeman and Uggla because if you are Loshe you don’t want to face Mac but now with Ross there. Loshe wants to face Ross.
I think deciding to start Ross over Mac can come back to haunt us big time.
How many runners will be LOB by Ross?
October 5th, 20122:49 am
Hello everyone! Good to be be back from a break. Good to see the braves in the playoffs too.
October 5th, 20122:51 am
Been busy, and was hanging low for a while until the Braves made it. Glad Medlen is the starting pitcher on Friday.
October 5th, 20123:03 am
Ward how can u be busy when our team is on one game lift support.
October 5th, 20123:05 am
I feel adrenaline, excitment, and fear 3 in 1 already and game is not until another 14hours. I don’t think I can sleep tonight. If Braves lose tomorrow I won’t be able to sleep in peace until April
October 5th, 20123:13 am
Veer – Just be happy we are in. There’s a lot of teams like the Dodgers who would love to bein in. I’ just staying calm. Adjusting to life as well.
October 5th, 20123:14 am
I’m just thankul that the Braves made it, and what ever happens is a bonus.
October 5th, 20123:21 am
My view is there is life, and you just roll with it, and have fun. Baseball is fun. I’ll leave it as that! I’m hoping that Medlen will win for us, and I have a good feeling. Yes, the Cards are good, but Braves can send a meesage right back to their face. Braves are a better team than last year, and I believe they can win.
October 5th, 20123:24 am
Veer – Have fun, and just enjoy the game. All just thought I would drop in, and talk after the game. Believe in Master Medlen. Big task for him, but I think he can do it! Peace my friends, and I’ll talk tomorrow, and “Go!!!!!Braves!!!!!”
October 5th, 20126:58 am
Game day baby, the Ted is going to be rocking and getting there early.
Atlanta plays Washington Sunday X 2. Falcons at RFK, Nationals at Turner!
Ghost of Chipper Jones
October 5th, 20127:03 am
Well, today’s the day.
LOHSE doesn’t have a chance,
and there’s no chance of a let-down.
BRAVES rule this one hands-down.
October 5th, 20127:07 am
They’ll miss the game at RFK Frankie.
It’s being played at FED EX field in LANDOVER, MARYLAND.
October 5th, 20127:08 am
10 hours and counting.
October 5th, 20127:09 am
5:07 pm can’t happen too soon.
October 5th, 20127:10 am

Just saw on ESPN website that out of 28 “so called” experts not even one of them picked the Braves to win the WS this year. They have their long postseason list of picks up now. Most of them picked the Braves to beat the Cards tomorrow, and several, such as Jayson Stark and Buster Olney picked the Braves to take the NL title, which is surprising. BUT, not one out of 28 picked ATL to take the WS! O ye of little faith! Of course several of the ESPN YANKEE HOMERS picked NY.
only a moron WOULD pick us…..with our toothpick bats?
October 5th, 20127:13 am
I’m hoping that Medlen will win for us, and I have a good feeling. Yes, the Cards are good, but Braves can send a meesage right back to their face. Braves are a better team than last year, and I believe they can win.
If not Medlen, who? The hottest pitcher in baseball. Big pressure game, though. It’ll show us what Medlen is made of.
October 5th, 20127:16 am
Well then, there must be no MORONS working at ESPN huh?
Of course several of the ESPN YANKEE HOMERS picked NY.
ESPN might as well be the Y-ESPN. Total in the tank for the Yankees.
Even the MLB Network was going all goo-goo over the Yanks when they clinched the AL East against the upstart Orioles.
Given the Yankees’ budget, they should be winning the WS every year. Under-performers!
October 5th, 20127:31 am
Couldn’t the game have been at 5:07 am? I’m so ready for this game to begin.
October 5th, 20127:33 am
Screw the experts – what do the baseball gods want?
Is a storybook ending to Chipper’s career in their plans, or are they focusing their influence on a Baltimore-Washington DC world series?
Fickle masters of the wildcard play-in game… We will see tonight.
October 5th, 20127:51 am
Ghost – nah, they’ve got a few!
October 5th, 20127:55 am
Just walk Uggla and take your chances with Ross and Simmons and Pitcher. Starting Ross over Mac was a cruical move. Game will come down to how Ross plays. He will be coming to at bat everytime with runners on
Brian from SC
October 5th, 20127:56 am
Of ESPN’s 29 “experts,” 25 predicted the Braves would beat St. Louis tonight.
Of those 25, 11 picked the Braves to beat Washington in the NLDS.
Of those 11, 4 picked the Braves to go to the World Series.
Enrique Rojas picked the Braves to win the World Series.
October 5th, 20128:06 am
Overall summary of ESPN “expert” picks:
NL Wild Card – Atlanta 25, St. Louis 4
AL Wild Card – Texas 22, Baltimore 7
NLDS winners – Washington 17, San Francisco 15, Cincinnati 14, Atlanta 11, St. Louis 1
ALDS winners – New York 25, Detroit 19, Oakland 19, Texas 4, Baltimore 0
NLCS winners – Cincinnati 9, Washington 8, San Francisco 7, Atlanta 4, St. Louis 1
ALCS winners – New York 13, Detroit 12, Texas 2, Oakland 2
World Series winners – New York 6, Detroit 6, San Francisco 5, Washington 5, Cincinnati 4, Texas 1, Oakland 1, Atlanta 1
October 5th, 20128:11 am
9 hours to the big game.
Whatever happens tonight, it’s been a fun year. I loathe this one-game playoff because 162 games of great work could easily come undone tonight, but there’s nothing you can do it about it at this point.
I just want to see a relaxed and confident Braves team tonight. I want to see the same Kris Medlen we’ve seen for two months. I don’t want to see guys gripping the bat tighter with runners in scoring position. We’ve seen too much of this in October by the Braves. Just go play ball. If the Cardinals are a little better tonight, so be it.
October 5th, 20128:12 am
8 hours and change to go, sorry.
October 5th, 20128:13 am
GIL in MECHS shout-out
October 5th, 20128:15 am
Sawdust bats? HEH! Good one Jaded, and good advice. Go take what’s rightfilly your BRAVES. Win one for the CHIPPER.
“Game will come down to how Ross plays. He will be coming to at bat everytime with runners on”
No kidding? Can you tell me if there will be a attractive blonde next to my seat tonight?
October 5th, 20128:16 am

October 5th, 20128:17 am
“They’ll miss the game at RFK Frankie.

Your right, my bad. Still will play Washington teams on Sunday.
October 5th, 20128:29 am
Being a road team might have an advantage in this series as the nerves and anxiety will be there in the first inning and thus it will effect Medlen however Loshe in the bottom of the inning would have that half an inning to calm his nerves. 1st inning will be crucial
October 5th, 20128:32 am
In case you’re interested and didn’t know it, here’s the Cardinals’ lineup for tonight:
October 5th, 20128:38 am
Almost time for the roster…
October 5th, 20128:41 am
The Cardinals have already announced their roster.
They’re only carrying Lohse and Lynn as starters.
Their bullpen: Motte, Boggs, Mujica, Rzepczynski, Salas, Freeman, Kelly, Rosenthal
Their bench: Anderson, Cruz, Schumaker, Jackson, Carpenter, Robinson, Chambers
They’re carrying 8 relievers (the Braves have talked about taking six). Only two are lefties, Rzepczynski (4.24 ERA) and Freeman (5.40).
October 5th, 20128:50 am
The bats need to warm up ASAP
October 5th, 20128:53 am
Our key is to score early and often. The Cards have a potent lineup but, I believe Meds can hold them down.
October 5th, 20129:06 am
Good pitching beats good hitting any day. Yes, yes, a cliche, but also true.
Well boys and girls, it comes down to this. 162 games, 6 game lead, and the 1-game playoff. Can’t get much more fair and exciting than this. Either way, let’s win this one and go deep for Chipper.
October 5th, 20129:24 am
As scoots would say……. mercy.

DING DING DING
Its time boys and girls….
Enough of the football talk….enough of the Veer talking sh*t…..enough of the offensive woe talk….
TODAY is the day that can all be remedied……
TODAY is the day we can all chop feeling confidence in our Braves….
TODAY is the day we chop, not like there’s no tomorrow, but feeling that tomorrow we will be getting ready for the Nats!
And TODAY is the day we whoop the Cardinals @SSES!
LETS GO BRAVES FANS!
October 5th, 20129:25 am
Lots of folks picking the Braves. Home Field, Medlen, Kimbrel and the fact that they are a 94 win team probably sways most people.
October 5th, 20129:28 am
Beltran and Holliday have been struggling the last 2 months and Freese is not 100%
I’m not sure what the key will be, but if Meds can get through Werth/Harper/Zimmerman/LaRoche/Morse he can get through those 5…..just gotta be sure the change and 2 seamer are sharp
“Medlen, Kimbrel and the fact that they are a 94 win team probably sways most people.”
Yep, really hoping we don’t have to use Kimbrel today. Cardinals kinda have his number.
October 5th, 20129:31 am
Today’s our big day, Braves Fans. I had such a hard time getting to sleep last night. Just kept replaying the Braves’ victory celebration that will happen tonight over and over in my mind.
October 5th, 20129:33 am
Read the article TOBF…..gotta love Bernie and his inventing things….
When did Meds get a sinker?
October 5th, 20129:34 am
I’ve already had dreams of the parade…. Some of my “dreams” have ended up happening, so I’m hoping this one does!
Need to do the same w/ that Anaheim pitcher.
October 5th, 20129:35 am
So if they do win. The Braves have to face the Nats?
Thinking from Cardinals point of view strategy wise I would pitch around Freeman and Uggla and face Ross Simmons and Medlen. I think we will see the bottom 3 order come up with alot of runners on base and it is how Ross and Simmons hit that will dicatate how many runs we score.
Why would you pitch to Freeman and Uggla knowing Ross and Simmons are less superior than our top 6 in the lineup. I could see a potientally frustrating game where Ross and Simmons leave alot of runners on base. I would have opted to go with Mac. Again David Ross probably is the key today.
Runners can get on base but who will drive them in? It is up to Ross and Simmons.
What are you talking about?
He pitched 3 innings this year and gave up 1 hit while having 6 K’s
Maybe the 1 game last year sways you, but he shut down the Cards this year
Fredi should make the team run laps around Turner Field, including Chipper, until they all puke….
That’ll get their attention and make sure they’re warmed up if nothing else will!
I’m not looking forward to the endless excuses if we choke another one tonight, thereby going 0-9 at home in elimination games!
But I’m on record as saying we win 5-2….please tell me we’re not going to blow this again.
October 5th, 20129:37 am
Veer-”Decision to start Ross over Mac might come back and haunt us because if you are the Cardinals now pressence of an impactful bat is gone.”
Maybe you’ve been pontificating too much on here and not even watching the games the past 2 months. Brian McCann an “impactful bat”? Since when? June-July? WHere do you come up with this crap?
Tomahawkin (LCS or BUST)
All Da Way Turn’t Up!
Heading to the Gold lot at 2pm to Tailgate with The “Thanks Bobby” Group
October is why we Chop!
Not worried about Simmons….
Worried about Bourn, prado, heyward, chipper, freeman, uggla and ross….
Medlen will homer today.
‘But I’m on record as saying we win 5-2….please tell me we’re not going to blow this again.”
Bank on it!
Yes, that is the way the schedule works….
But this year we get the first 2 games at home starting Sunday if we win

October is when we drop…
