Wow, Jim, you could have singled me out for using “mute point”. I wouldn’t have cared. As nolie said, it’s a blog joke. I can assure you I’m intelligent enough to know what a moot point is, but thanks for caring.
BTW, my family name of “BASS” has been held in high esteem for many years and all, except the “Dum” ones don’t appreciate it being denigrated or blasphemed. I happen to be one of the “dum” ones due to it being hung on me by a 10th grade buddy years ago. He sat behind me, and after I gave a really stupid answer to a physical sciences teacher, he said, “you really are a ‘dumb Bass’ aren’t you?” I just decided to hang onto it over the years as a form of self-deprecating humor. I dropped the first “b” just to be original and keep people guessing. Looks like it’s working so far.
Night all, hope the Braves win in spite of it’s “managerial wizard”.
I don’t get mad at predictions anymore, because no one this side of Heaven actually knows how the playoffs are going to go. Too many variables, not the least of which is some freak injury. Just watch the games and enjoy the ride.
I mean that I don’t stress over the line up on any given day, and I have total faith in Ross’s ability. Do I wish Mac was healthy and playing like I know he can? Of course, as I think most of the folks on the blog do. But I am not going to have any issues with it because it really makes little difference to me who is playing, as long as they can score some runs and win the game.
Have a great day, uga! I rearranged one student tomorrow so I’ll see the first half of the game live, listen on the radio on the way to work, and then probably watch the rest on DVR hours later (unless we have either a huge lead, or face a huge deficit, in which case I’ll follow on my phone – or take a radio)…
I bid you all a good night…..may your dreams be organized and enlightened by the opportunity of October baseball in Atlanta….yes, I’m talkin Baseball…..baseball and the Braves, Ga…Ga…Ga….Atlanta baseball……….!!!
I have waited for the Braves to play in the postseason since we lost to the Giant’s and if we win tomorrow I will be on cloud 9 goooooooo Braves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Decision to start Ross over Mac might come back and haunt us because if you are the Cardinals now pressence of an impactful bat is gone. Now this enables Cardinals to simply pitch around Freeman and Uggla to face Ross Simmons and the pitcher. Basically if you get past Jones you can walk the next 2 guys and then you get 3 rather easy outs. I can see Ross and Simmons coming up in critical situations tomorrow with runners on base and failing to deliver.
Mac had that presence about him where they would pitch to Freeman and Uggla because if you are Loshe you don’t want to face Mac but now with Ross there. Loshe wants to face Ross.
I think deciding to start Ross over Mac can come back to haunt us big time.
I feel adrenaline, excitment, and fear 3 in 1 already and game is not until another 14hours. I don’t think I can sleep tonight. If Braves lose tomorrow I won’t be able to sleep in peace until April
My view is there is life, and you just roll with it, and have fun. Baseball is fun. I’ll leave it as that! I’m hoping that Medlen will win for us, and I have a good feeling. Yes, the Cards are good, but Braves can send a meesage right back to their face. Braves are a better team than last year, and I believe they can win.
Veer – Have fun, and just enjoy the game. All just thought I would drop in, and talk after the game. Believe in Master Medlen. Big task for him, but I think he can do it! Peace my friends, and I’ll talk tomorrow, and “Go!!!!!Braves!!!!!”

Whatever happens tonight, it’s been a fun year. I loathe this one-game playoff because 162 games of great work could easily come undone tonight, but there’s nothing you can do it about it at this point.
I just want to see a relaxed and confident Braves team tonight. I want to see the same Kris Medlen we’ve seen for two months. I don’t want to see guys gripping the bat tighter with runners in scoring position. We’ve seen too much of this in October by the Braves. Just go play ball. If the Cardinals are a little better tonight, so be it.
Being a road team might have an advantage in this series as the nerves and anxiety will be there in the first inning and thus it will effect Medlen however Loshe in the bottom of the inning would have that half an inning to calm his nerves. 1st inning will be crucial
The Cardinals have already announced their roster.
They’re only carrying Lohse and Lynn as starters.

Today’s our big day, Braves Fans. I had such a hard time getting to sleep last night. Just kept replaying the Braves’ victory celebration that will happen tonight over and over in my mind.
Thinking from Cardinals point of view strategy wise I would pitch around Freeman and Uggla and face Ross Simmons and Medlen. I think we will see the bottom 3 order come up with alot of runners on base and it is how Ross and Simmons hit that will dicatate how many runs we score.
Why would you pitch to Freeman and Uggla knowing Ross and Simmons are less superior than our top 6 in the lineup. I could see a potientally frustrating game where Ross and Simmons leave alot of runners on base. I would have opted to go with Mac. Again David Ross probably is the key today.
Runners can get on base but who will drive them in? It is up to Ross and Simmons.
Veer-”Decision to start Ross over Mac might come back and haunt us because if you are the Cardinals now pressence of an impactful bat is gone.”
Maybe you’ve been pontificating too much on here and not even watching the games the past 2 months. Brian McCann an “impactful bat”? Since when? June-July? WHere do you come up with this crap?

“Medlen, Kimbrel and the fact that they are a 94 win team probably sways most people.”
Yep, really hoping we don’t have to use Kimbrel today. Cardinals kinda have his number.

Today’s our big day, Braves Fans. I had such a hard time getting to sleep last night. Just kept replaying the Braves’ victory celebration that will happen tonight over and over in my mind.

I’ve already had dreams of the parade…. Some of my “dreams” have ended up happening, so I’m hoping this one does!
Need to do the same w/ that Anaheim pitcher.

What are you talking about?
He pitched 3 innings this year and gave up 1 hit while having 6 K’s
Maybe the 1 game last year sways you, but he shut down the Cards this year

Fredi should make the team run laps around Turner Field, including Chipper, until they all puke….
That’ll get their attention and make sure they’re warmed up if nothing else will!
I’m not looking forward to the endless excuses if we choke another one tonight, thereby going 0-9 at home in elimination games!
But I’m on record as saying we win 5-2….please tell me we’re not going to blow this again.
