Gomes was the subject of some conversations on the blog. Don’t know if the Braves ever pursued him in any serious way though. Jonny is a good hitter vs lefties but is a butcher in the outfield. (all hearsay)

Silence is golden……..however, time to put in my two cents.
94 wins. Which is way better than this fan could have ever expected. But somehow it feels like less than they could have achieved. Because between inconsistency, injury and an ever changing line up. Then throw in the revamped rotation and the conclusion is easy, this 2012 squad persevered yet didn’t reach it’s ultimate goal…..winning their division.
Not knocking these guys at all, they have nothing to be ashamed of, and really surpassed what most could have expected of them. Of course when you’re chasing the best team in baseball (by record 98-64 Nationals) nothing comes easy. So hats off to our Bravos, they gave themselves and Chipper one more deserving shot at post season glory

This Friday game is SO UNFAIR,if two WC teams it should have been 2 out of 3. Now a 5:07 start, Sun will be at bad angle, right in FREDDYS eyes. BUD has it in for us this year, stuck us with this stupid single game just days befor start of season.

So if the Braves actually win Friday, I wonder if they wouldn’t consider carrying Sheets on the roster in the pen? He said his arm was still good and he showed today he could be overpowering for an inning. Wouldn’t mind having him in the pen to attempt to throw a shutdown inning mid game if needed.

So is this wild card playin game gonna be a 25 man roster. and if it is I think you have toload up with relievers and pitch-hitters. Wouldnt make sense to have more than 2 or 3 starters on the roster.

I just saw Chipper’s single in his final at-bat.
I just saw Ben Sheets’ perfect first inning & the dugout scene in his final start (on MLB.com).
Not ashamed to say I have water in my eyes. Gimme 13 healthy Chipper’s and 12 healthy Sheets’ and I’ll never lose!

They said that Sheets was originally scheduled to pitch two innings. I imagine that his arm was bothering him since they pulled him after one inning. If so, I’m guessing that he will not be on a post season roster.

Yeah, Bat. Normally, the Bravos are putrid hitters in a normal day game start. Maybe the weirdo 5PM start will inspire them to bang out another 10 hits against the Curds. I’ll take four runs with Medlen on the mound any day of the week… and TWICE on Friday with our bullpen!

Probably? Definitely… Fredi isn’t taking the risk of hurting his starting catcher’s feelings. It’s the playoffs, he’s going with his starters.
I really wish that he did use Ross for the play-in, though. After that, let BMac catch in the other games, except maybe for any Medlen starts.
