The TV guys just quoted a weird stat: “the Braves are 50-15 when BOURN gets a hit and scores a run in the game.” BOURN has played in 152 games. He has 170 hits and 94 runs scored, but he has only done both in the same game 65 times? Could this stat be correct? Did I hear it wrong?
Can I interest you in some Taco Soup? Put some corn chips on the bottom of the bowl, add a little grated cheddar, sour cream and a few slices of avocado and mmmmmmmmmmmm…..
This is my source of greatest consternation with these guys. The opposing pitcher has a plus-5.00 ERA… and we muddle along with little to show for it. Hell, the stiff has even allowed FIVE walks.
All the Chipper talk makes me remember how good George Brett was. Still think playing in small market like KC the guy never really got as much attention as he probably deserved. What a pure hitter.
DOB, I know you have zero input and perhaps even less interest in how your editors choose layouts for the paper (hell, you probably don’t even get the paper) but how can you justify putting Chipper below the fold in the lower right hand corner of the sports section, just above an ad for Brandsmart USA?
How the %#$& does Chipper’s last regular season home game get second, if not third or fourth, billing to the %#*& Falcons in week five?
That’s absolutely embarrassing.
The very little of sports talk I heard today was all football.
I just don’t get it.
All they ever want to do is criticize fans for not being “passionate” enough, for not selling out Turner Field on a nightly basis but they could care less what the Braves do.
It is amazing the Braves are where they are with this anemic offense, and a manager who only started managing about a month ago. The pitching must be about 10 times better than it actually shows. Maybe a hidden stat somewhere that tells the true story.
