It was a mistake to bring back Hinske this year…. it’d be a bigger one to let him on the PS roster, imo.

Overbay shouldn’t make it either. I’d assume that Hinske gets the nod since he’s been here longer. Overbay is what, 1-15 since arriving with 9Ks? Not a way to win a spot.

Wow, it was great to see Bob Horner, it has been a long time and he is one of my all-time favorite Braves. Good to see him with Knucksie, Eggs, Gino and Murph…that was a great team and a very interesting season.
Next year, I wish the Braves would replace Glavine with Dale Murphy full time in the broadcast booth, he has really improved as an analyst.

Hinske was great for two years as a Brave. No doubt he has played his way out of Atlanta. Hate to see that, but it’s a fact. Thanks Eric. You did your part, especially a couple of years ago (thanks Brooks Conrad and Mike Dunn) trying to help the Braves advance to the NLCS.

But we should only include players who have played the majority of games for at least 1 year at each position. And we should keep it to the Atlanta Braves teams.

Braves fans need to pray that Braves pitching holds up. Offense has reverted to terrible again. Reverted may be too strong of a statement. They never actually showed any offensive prowess in the second half.

Look at Freddie. Look at Heyward. Look at the rest of the lineup. Promise without actual results.

Its pitching or nothing with this team.

Its not how many hits you get, its when you get your hits. Andrew Jones had a good career in ATL if you look at his stats. The fact is he only had one really good year when he was a difference maker. His next to last year in ATL Andrew was a beast. Other years he had decent numbers but many of those decent numbers he had were when the Braves were up by 5 or down by 5. Andrew was the anti-Chipper. You did not want Andrew at the plate with the game on the line based on his career performance in ATL.

Hinske’s numbers haven’t been great but he’s had some big hits. Take his and Rick Ankiel’s performance away from the 2010 Braves and the Braves are pitiful in the post-seaoon that year.

Maybe it speaks to your talent when those guys are the best performers in the post-season.

Capt.Mudd

Cabravesfan……Every typical fan looks at the ‘51′ given up by the Vols and blanketly will affix a defensive failure–and, if the final score make you toot–great!

What I saw were a few nice creative disguises by the Vol defense today at GA…..these were successfully executed on the particular play they were dialed up by the D-Coordinator…..in these particular instances….the defense made it more difficult on the Bulldog offense to execute the particular play they intended to run–which most probably is based in part on the defensive formation….I don’t really care about which group of 18-22 yr. olds beats another group of the same….I primarily look at down and distance and in game score to determine what I would run if I were roaming the side-lines…….The final score? Ok one might say that giving up 51 pts. is not creative enough…..so right you are!!!!!!

I agree, chip. I think TN is on the right track too (also a dawg fan here).

As to UGA, disgusted can whine all he wants, but I’ll take an SEC win anytime, any score. And, the defense is loaded with talent and I think the scheme is a lot better than under Martinez. At least we usually have a defender in the vicinity of the receiver.

Gave up some big plays, but I think the defense will be a strong point as the season goes along.

And polls don’t matter when you’re in the SEC. If we win out, we’ll win the national championship. Beyond that, who cares about polls?
