Also, the computer he’s using is fairly old…not the fastest machine in the world

Making the weekend even more of a sporting high point for me is that I am a complete pushover for the Ryder Cup…I will truly effort to get up shortly after 5 when it starts here tomorrow…
September 28th, 201212:01 am
If you can stream it, you can record it. For free. But, it’s not worth the bother. I suspect it’ll be readily available online.
I think Washington is paying me back for gloating on that SC win. That’s how it works, right?
And I will truly effort to sleep as late as possible (as I do most mornings…)
The computer’s fine – internet there could be much better…
September 28th, 201212:02 am
hey hey hey its phat albert
I’m not sure, but didn’t FG announce that he’d have 3SP’s for the game on 5 Oct? If so, which 3?
I think Meds (duh), but that leaves 3 others (Huddy is out and I’d imagine Minor is not an option). So, Hanson or Minor being the 3rd?
This is starting to hurt my brain….guess I know why Fredi has no hair
September 28th, 201212:03 am
I’m torn on Washington- part of me knows that Stanford winning only helps USC, and part of me wants them to suffer tremendously. Although I did kinda screech in joy when the Huskies scored that last touchdown, so maybe I am leaning in that direction
how bout them braves
September 28th, 201212:06 am
hows nolie doing?
gonna be tough. the jones boys on this blog were always off limits to me.
always loved chipper beating bobby V.
always loved HOSS beating Larry Bowa.
September 28th, 201212:08 am
chippers bat sure has slowed the last few weeks
September 28th, 201212:09 am
i feel like i have aged 30 years this year
actually i still feel good but my body looks like i have aged that much
September 28th, 201212:10 am
“the jones boys”
I think you and I have more love for Andruw than most. Watching ‘Druw cover the gaps was better than any sort of offense. Beauty, defined.
vj. BAS, i LOVE the ryder cup.
pretty sure tiger’s paired record under .500 is not sitting well.
anyone know love’s pairing’s?
ncgary – good to have you join us!
September 28th, 201212:11 am
ncgary – yes, it has, he’s a bit tired. Have to give him credit for trying to give the hometown fans a reason to come out to the ballgames, but I hope he sits out the 3 in PIT.
Even in his interviews he looks tired. Love him, but…rest and get ready for the “real season”.
September 28th, 201212:13 am
By real season – I mean the playoffs – hopefully a long run there.
Match 1: Rory McIlroy & Grame McDowell (Europe) vs. Jim Furyk & Brandt Snedeker (U.S.)
Match 2: Luke Donald & Sergio Garcia (Europe) vs. Phil Mickelson & Keegan Bradley (U.S.)
Match 3: Lee Westwood & Francesco Molinari (Europe) vs. Zach Johnson & Jason Dufner (U.S.)
Match 4: Ian Poulter & Justin Rose (Europe) vs. Steve Stricker & Tiger Woods (U.S.)
September 28th, 201212:14 am
no doubt maybe they script chipper to the roger dorn rold in the movie
September 28th, 201212:15 am
That’s the worst 4th down call in the history of the game.
September 28th, 201212:16 am
if thats the case then kimbrell must be doing what to you know who
and thanks vj , glad to be among the living
andruw, dial up the numbers for a CF.
we had the unique priviledge of watching the best defensive center fielder of all time.
Maybe not the worst, but it was not a good pass at all…
BAS – not really – the reciever failed on the route – he slowed down – didn’t play through.
Dude is a foot taller than his defender after all.
September 28th, 201212:18 am
@MLBNetworkRadio: Fredi Gonzalez, Atlanta Braves Manager, discusses a potential Wild Card Game Roster and Medlen/Hudson. Audio: http://bit.ly/V0Pc2c
Hmmph – thought Stanford was Harvard West? Not too smart.
September 28th, 201212:20 am
Hyperbolic? Maybe. I’m not so sure.
25 yard fade? Deep timing route, when you need 5? Worst. Call. Ever.
it was about time for hanson to get a september win
would be nice to see him get to eating innings
wouldn’t that be a playoff bonanza
Better – USC loses strength of schedule (hate Lane Kiffen) a total tool – last time I talked to him – TOTAL tool.
wow. vj, rory and grame mcdowell out first.
USC does not have to worry too much about strength of schedule. Still have a few top 25 teams left on their schedule.
September 28th, 201212:22 am
that wou;d be berkley animus
that would be berkley animus
But anyways, teams can only control what is in front of them. And on that note, I am off to bed. Good night, all!
nite all me too cab
September 28th, 201212:24 am
Bad play-calling to end the game there…. he’s worse than Mike Bobo!
As for Hanson, it was his first win since July… he really needed that one.
Good night, my elders. Peace.
UC Berkley was NOT the school who was touting themselves as the “Harvard of the West”when I was being recruited. THAT was STANFORD – (I went to UGA)
September 28th, 201212:26 am
LA winning 6-0 is nice, keep up the pressure on StL so they don’t have time to set their rotation
September 28th, 201212:33 am
uga – yes, that was the first commentary I heard, that Jose Maria was throwing the big guns out first…
September 28th, 201212:41 am
Chipper Jones @RealCJ10
It’s great to be playin well at the end of the season. 5 in a row. Big Red threw well and Uggs had 2 knocks and 3 ribs. Big day tmrw!!
September 28th, 201212:43 am
vj, why not they have pretty much owned us lately.
keegan, and jason dufner. will be real interesting to see how they putt.
September 28th, 201212:47 am
We won at Valhalla…hopefully can drive the home streak to 2…
September 28th, 201212:48 am
When I retired from the blog, no one threw me a damn tribute ceremony. Screw all of ya
Losing 6 of 8, not so good, I admit…
September 28th, 201212:49 am
I think there was a candlelight vigil…did no one invite you?
September 28th, 201212:50 am
Time to head of for the early call at Medinah…
September 28th, 201212:52 am
hard to handicap alternate shot. morning matches.
four ball follows in the afternoon.
September 28th, 201212:53 am
WW, that you?
September 28th, 201212:54 am
Monthly tributes. At least. Teach us sumpin’.
September 28th, 201212:55 am
See, you think there was a candlelight vigil, but you don’t know if there was one. That’s how unmemorable it was.
September 28th, 201212:58 am
Yeah, it’s Willy Wally. Loved Andruw myself. Almost got into a fight with my dad last weekend about Andruw. He was ranting about how much he sucks, and I was getting ticked, but it was his birthday, so I bit my tongue.
bravey, name your favorite record shop. easy question.
September 28th, 20121:01 am
braveheart, name the record shop you were at when DOB manned the cash register.
The one DOB’s buddy Don used to own over in Toco Hill?
September 28th, 20121:03 am
BAS, pretty sure he is a fraud.
i miss bubdylan.
“ranting about how much he sucks”
Well, I’m sorry, but you must disown your father. Or, at minimum, put him in some sort of home, because senility has set in.
Please tell him that a random AJC blog-commentor said so (this carries significant weight).
September 28th, 20121:04 am
well we have a winner.
anyone ever scene any whitesnake?
September 28th, 20121:06 am
Your mom is from Scarsdale. Your dad is Italian and from Mount Vernon. You played football when you were a kid at Fitzgerald Field in Tucker. Need I go on?
“BAS, pretty sure he is a fraud.”
Probably so, uga. We just talked about him, and here he is. Even so, I hope it’s him. Best cat in the place, outside scoots, imo.
And, I miss bubd too. Someone once told us he still frequented another Braves site. Wonder if that’s still true. I love me some funny, and that MFer was funny. (Second shout-out tonight Tater; you better bring it tomorrow.)
September 28th, 20121:07 am
bravey, you are missed.
“Your mom is from Scarsdale. Your dad is Italian and from Mount Vernon. You played football when you were a kid at Fitzgerald Field in Tucker. Need I go on?”
Please, please, please let that be true. ‘Cause that’s frickin’ awesome, right there. I don’t care who you are.
September 28th, 20121:09 am
How proud are you that 10 got ‘threw’ right? Made me feel good inside…
September 28th, 20121:11 am
considering the fact the only thing i did not give him was my name and address i am pretty sure that is braveheart.
September 28th, 20121:14 am
“name and address”
Dude damn-near listed your social security number and shoe size. You better hope it’s him, ’cause otherwise you need to call somebody.
bravey, so how is the barrister thing going for you?
September 28th, 20121:16 am
Yeah, sorry for the creepy recall there. And I still maintain that Chuck James is better than you think, that Kelly Johnson is better than Martin Prado, that Frenchy is still gonna be the next Dale Murphy and that Yunel Escobar was just a poor misunderstood soul whose only sin was that he wasn’t American Idol enough for the Braves. And Daniel Day Lewis is an overacting ham. Animal House is dated and overrated.
September 28th, 20121:19 am
“Daniel Day Lewis is an overacting ham”
Dropping my second-lifetime LMAO (screw you, Soph).
Those were the days. ‘OB firing back…
Now he argues with the Georges of the world about nonsense… Sad, really. I blame nolie. And, of course, WW.
September 28th, 20121:20 am
Okay. The last year or so has been really hectic. It’s shameful, but it caused me to kinda mentally check out on baseball this year. Became much more of a casual fan, reading box scores and stats, catching a few innings here and there, checking in from a distance.
September 28th, 20121:21 am
well there it is.
that was always DOB’s and braveheart’s argument.
about being dated.
this is braveheart.
September 28th, 20121:23 am
bravey you have been missed. hope all is well.
September 28th, 20121:24 am
All still posting on here now are intellectually-challenged, and sleep-deprived. (Yes, that includes me!) Go to bed you nitwits, you have to go to work tomorrow! (I don’t, hee hee)
Shameheart? Hey, life intercedes. Just know: you helped create this place, and you’re missed. Fervently. scoots (and I) said so, no less than 30 hours ago.
Please stop by when you can.
September 28th, 20121:26 am
gee Uga, a gazillion folks must know that DOB and WW argued Animal House.
September 28th, 20121:28 am
Thanks, BAS. But you gotta admit that the creepy recall was Random-esque
September 28th, 20121:31 am
“a gazillion folks”
Respectfully, I disagree. Most, and without exaggeration, darn-near all of those folks have left. And those who post in their stead blow. A few, like TOBF, are assets. Most make N8 look like a girl-scout.
Either way: we think it’s WW, and even it may not be, allow us to celebrate what he brought to this space. After ‘OB, he might’ve been it. I’d argue scoots, but I’d be willing to lose. They were (are) that good. Let’s try to keep ‘em here.
September 28th, 20121:33 am
yeah WW was cool, after scoots and nolie (and yes I am prejudiced)
Miss him, too. I called Homer, The Abandoner. In truth, all y’all are Abandoners. This place needs you cats. ‘OB plants the seed. He fertilizes. He nurtures. He waters. But, without a little sunlight, death is imminent. We need y’all’s sunlight.
September 28th, 20121:36 am
well, braveheart walked into “ella guru” that was don’s really good record shop on toco hills.
DOB, used to mine the register there.
this tall dude walks looks at the album sectiion, between the “smiths” section and the “replacements” sections,
he asks for whitesnake.
September 28th, 20121:37 am
BTW, noles should be home late this afternoon
September 28th, 20121:39 am
lets hope WW isn’t just teasing us with a one shot driveby
September 28th, 20121:40 am
What’s up with nolie?
Sneaky good – I miss reading his comments – he does have some insight. I’m trying to figure out how the team should set up the postseason roster (play-in right now) – his wisdom would be appreciated.
September 28th, 20121:41 am
And, belated – sorry his laptop messed up for his inpatient stay.
September 28th, 20121:51 am
you know what would be really cool? “fight club”
never know who is real or not.
September 28th, 20121:55 am
F’ it. I’m hiring Grinch to kick ass. Taking names: optional.
September 28th, 20121:58 am
I got much love for Grinch. But, I’ve a grudge. Dude was writing a history paper for some sort of degree. Far beyond Drinking U, from which I graduated. He promised me a read.
I still want it. Liked that dude’s mind.
September 28th, 20122:07 am
uga, Gwinnett County All Stars? Which one gets to.240 by the end of the year?
September 28th, 20122:14 am
September 28th, 20122:15 am
Anyone know what cross-site scripting is ?
September 28th, 20122:16 am
but i was right at the end.
September 28th, 20122:17 am
cab, McFann, tiger, VJ, et al.
Just wanna try this one time. I suspect it won’t go over well (remember that?).
Segregating yourselves to some intimate group sounds ideal, right? Why read the 500 idiots, when you can commingle the best ten?
Allow me: history says it don’t work. Ten like-minds sounds like fun. Trust me: it gets boring. And, once you agree on ball, you start talking politics, or… A dozen of the best posters this space has ever had tried. Now, they’re all but forgotten.
Y’all are at your best when you’re allied against our nonsense. Otherwise, you’re an ignored herd. I miplore you to remain, and to make this the best Braves spot on the interwebs. Just my opinion.
September 28th, 20122:19 am
If I knew what the hell y’all were talkin’ about, I’d place a wager.
Who am I kidding? Who needs knowledge? I got a Jackson on neither.
Did I win?
September 28th, 20122:20 am
BAS has got a great point. Part of the fun of this place is ignoring your friends and picking a fight with a tard
September 28th, 20122:21 am
You don’t remember when uga would rant every night about mccann and frenchy, calling them the gwinnett county all stars?
September 28th, 20122:26 am
Braveheart, you are missed and I dearly miss Journalist Jimmy Smith, he always put a smile on my face.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
