Do they truly have a shot at the Division title? What is their magic number for clinching the Division title?
September 27th, 20128:14 am
Shockjock! Ol’Kincaide loves to make less than popular statements, so we are talking about him instead of the play on the field. Bet 680 and Kincaide love that a Hall of Famer did listen to them.
The Braves deserve to celebrate. After all those years of not showing emotion this is a good change. Lets go Braves 2012 Champs!!!!
September 27th, 20128:15 am
them transplanted jealous Cubs fans complaining again?
Maybe one day, but probably not in this lifetime for you.
Get over it, we got a bunch of gamers who have never been here, they deserve it!
From what I’m gathering here from the comments, 680 The Fan made the criticisms of the Braves’ Tuesday night celebration? You’re kidding me! They’re one of the flagship stations in the Braves Radio Network!! This is why I wish WSB Radio still carried Braves’ games! And to think I had started listening to 680 during my evening drive-time commutes. That MIGHT just begin changing now.
Chipper’s right! CELEBRATE!!! It was a hard-earned achievement. And they achieved their first goal to get a playoff spot. Now they’re trying to see if they can change the outcome of the NL East division final standings or not. The naysayers always have to complain about something. DON’T listen to them!
Have fun in the playoffs, Bravos. And……GO, BRAVES!!!!!
September 27th, 20128:17 am
Taking advice from Boobie Cox??? Please dont. Not when it comes to the post season.
September 27th, 20128:22 am
Braves, we love you and are soooo proud of you! Celebrate! Enjoy this moment! What a season! Much love to you guys…
Kincaid or whatever your name is – your’re a pansy and not a Braves fan, who cares what you think….

September 27th, 20128:34 am
Good job “Chippie” give em hell ! Quite an accomplishment after the collapse last year, long season lots of injuries and twist and turns and it deserves a little celebration. but you have to go out and win the next one. Go Braves !
September 27th, 20128:36 am
Don’t knock drinking alcohol…look what it’s doing for the Falcons…they’re 3-0. Go Dirty Birds!!
September 27th, 20128:39 am
iggy – Matching, or exceeding, Lou Gehrig’s hit count makes him overrated?
iggy = idiotic gabbling genetic yahoo
September 27th, 20128:40 am
Loved watching them celebrate their victory, it was like washing off the catastrophe of last year and celebrating rejuvination this season brought. Now hopefully our boys Dan and Brian can shake off their regular season struggles and amp up for the post-season.
Kris is pitching against this one game play-off, then we’ll be ready to take on the Nats! We’re surging, they’re slumping (some)….let’s do this!
September 27th, 20128:42 am

September 27th, 20128:46 am
I see Kincaid has called on the 680 staffers to get on this blog and defend him. iggy and his trolling would be sad if it wasn’t so laughable. Good little intern.
September 27th, 20128:54 am
Atlanta–wild, champagne celebrations for just making the playoffs.
Other teams–champagne celebrations when they win something meaningful.
The difference is clear.
September 27th, 20128:55 am
Jeeze, will someone please block that “iggy” moron…
September 27th, 20128:58 am
September 27th, 20129:05 am
Thank You! I don’t understand how others don’t have a problem with a team celebrating for just making the playoffs? From the Braves previous playoff record, I’ll be shocked if they win the 1 game playoff. Hope they do win!
September 27th, 20129:10 am
Just shut up and play baseball Chipper! Who cares if you pop a top for one lousy game….? Baseball players are such pansies…
September 27th, 20129:20 am
Cut the Braves a break. THEY made the playoffs. They deserve to whoop it up. After the collapse last year, they have earned it. Way to go guys !!!
They had better have enjoyed their premature celebration cuz its all down hill from here. The Braves are LOSERS!! Always have been always will be.
September 27th, 20129:22 am
Maybe as fans we were embarrassed how they celebrated, with the 1 game playoff the only guaranteed game. At least the Giants and Reds know they have a 5 game series.
September 27th, 20129:24 am
I was there Tuesday and I didn’t want to leave. I wanted to party too. We get so few times in life where we take time to celebrate. Criticising the celebration for making the playoffs is ridiculous. They are a great team, they’ve dealt with adversity all year and they are going to the playoffs. There is no luck involved here. It doesn’t mean they aren’t trying to win the division or anything larger. They are just taking time to recognise achievements accomplished, they washed off last year in an ocean of champagne.
Now go win the Division, the League and the Series!
September 27th, 20129:25 am
All the negative people can sit and spin in misery.
September 27th, 20129:26 am
The Phillies and Eagles both suck this year. Deal with it, Kincaid.
are you serious! criticize the celebration after EARNING a spot into the post season…? really? you tell’em Chipper! i love the come back to the critics..”And quite frankly we can afford to pop a top on some champagne bottles and some beer cans if we want to.”
September 27th, 20129:27 am
Chipper has it right! Wouldn’t it be fantastic for the Braves to win it all and send Chipper off to the Hall of Fame as King of the Hill! I have followed this team over 20 years and I would not bet against them to win it all. I think Chipper would make a great manager someday. I may be a Mets fan but I admire the Braves and their organization. A class act!
September 27th, 20129:29 am
BTW Kincaid, stop saying “no questions asked” after every other statement you make. The correct cliche is “no question about it.”
“No questions asked” is what you say to a shady character you’re paying to do your dirty work. Saying that makes you sound stupid.
You guys do know that the Braves are being laughed at by everyone in baseball, right?
I was listening yesterday when Buck and Kincaid were talking about the celebration. Buck was OK with it, but Kincaid, regardless of what he may really think, was in his obvious “little boy…provocation…stir the pot” mode. He’s a class A JERK! Always has been and always will be…at least as it relates to his opinion of all Atlanta sports teams. Unfortunately, our society listens to his crap (me included) thereby requiring 680 to keep him on the air for ratings. How else could an idiot from Philly who constantly degrades the Braves, Falcons, and Hawks stay on the air. Jeez…what a job.
September 27th, 20129:30 am
And quite frankly the braves will soon be enjoying a Post Season Ass Kicking!!! YEAH BABY!!!
Suck on that, Chippee.
Buck Ballue and John Kincaid, Dumb and Dumber! They were moved to the noon gig due to poor ratings , their next move should be out the door.Make the move Mr. D.
September 27th, 20129:32 am
I cant wait, after them getting the stomping they deserve, to see the dejection on their faces. The tears of shame and stupidity that will be flowing down their long dumb faces.
Have to agree. I laughed when the switch happened and the played it as if it was there choice.
September 27th, 20129:33 am
It’s fun to have a format in which to belittle Kincaid, wherein he can’t scream at you and cut you off, and then talk about you after you’re gone when can no longer defend yourself. No questions asked.
Who gives one iota? There’s always some idiot to throw the monkey wrench into anything anyone tries to do. Go ahead and celebrate. This is Chipper’s year. This is Chipper’s career. Congratulations to the team and to Chipper.
September 27th, 20129:37 am
Buck may not be the freshest crayon in the box, but he’s a die-hard homer, and that’s why they paired him with that miserable, carpet-bagging, south-hating yankee. Arguments = ratings. No questions asked.
September 27th, 20129:38 am
Good riddance to Mr Mediocrity, Chipper Jones. He should check into coaching a girls softball team.
I wonder how their ratings will be after 93.7 comes into the picture.
Larry R Glass, Sr.
September 27th, 20129:39 am
To Roger N Canton:
Braves Against Nats – 7W 8L
Against The Cards – 5W 1L
The Brewers – 3W 3L
The Giants – 3W 4L
Grand Total -18W 16L– Uhh, What were you saying about how they match up against probable opponents? I’d say they ARE right up there with the class of the National League. LOOK IT UP, LOUDMOUTH!!!!!
September 27th, 20129:40 am
You haters call all get bent. Making the post season at all is a big accomplishment. Just ask the Pirates. How long has it been for them? Or the Astros, the Marlins, the Cubs? Ask any of them or their fans and they’d tell you it would be exciting to be in our position. Go Braves, and enjoy every minute of it!
Hey Kincaid — I know you’re reading this. You’re always saying Atlanta is a weak pro-sports town compared to your beloved Philly. Then why are you working here instead of up there? I guess you couldn’t make it in a “real” sports town. No questions asked.
September 27th, 20129:41 am
Good for you Chipper!
September 27th, 20129:42 am
I get they made the playoffs. But all they have guaranteed is a 1 game play in game. Now if they won the division or the wild card via the old format, I wouldn’t have a problem with it.
September 27th, 20129:44 am
Post-season advice from Bobby Cox??? I don’t know about that. I’d take all the advice he could give me on the regular season, but I may avoid getting advice from him for my post-season run.
Great manager, I’m just saying…
September 27th, 20129:45 am
if the braves beat the cardinals in the 1 game playoff, will they be spraying more champagne all over the clubhouse again to celebrate advancing to the next round??? is the champagne expensive?
September 27th, 20129:47 am
September 27th, 20129:49 am
All you people are just fooling yourselves and being setup with these silly dreams of the braves actually doing something worthwhile. Well I hate to burst your bubble but, like the braves, you will all be crying and weeping after the brafves get the railing they deserve.
Appears so. Though I won’t have a problem if the celebrate each round the advance. Just have a problem with celebrating the chance to advance past the 1 game play in.
September 27th, 20129:50 am
@ChipperDaddy. You are an idiot. I am curious, what would a player of Chippers caliber should make? Lifetime Brave; clubhouse leader; lifetime .304 batting average; 8 or 9 time all star, MVP, Can still play with the best of them at 40 years of age. Tell me, what are your qualifies you to say what Chipper should and shouldnt make. Living inyour mommas basement and being the commisioner of your fantasy league probably doesnt count. Btw, I think your mom has your peanut butter and jelley sandwich made with the crust cut off.
September 27th, 20129:57 am
Kincaid, ever wonder why so many of Atlanta’s sports-talk radio personalities are from the north? I’ll bet you think it’s because you’re better talkers than we southerners are.
Well keep talking, big-mouth. You may be better at talking about sports, but southerners are better at playing them.
The SEC absolutely RULES college football.
Ever notice how many professional baseball players came from the south?
On the Braves alone, Heyward, McCann and Ross are from Georgia, Chipper and Pastornicky are from Florida, Hudson and Kimbrell are from Alabama, Sheets is from Louisiana, Bourn is from Texas, Maholm is from Mississippi, Uggla and Venters are from Kentucky, and Minor and Gearrin are from Tennessee.
None of the Braves except Varvaro (NJ) are from the northeast. None are from Pennsylvania.
None of the Phillies are from the northeast, either, except Kratz (PA).
Southerners play ball. Northeasterners talk about it. No questions asked.
September 27th, 201210:21 am
I can see Kincade saying that since he’s a phillies homer. And in the same motion I can see Buck Belue telling him he’s being a dumbass. Stick with chuck and chernoff much better show. Go Bravos!
September 27th, 201210:23 am
This team earned the celebration, partly to wash away last season’s collapse. I hope that wasn’t the last celebration this season.
September 27th, 201210:27 am
I thought the Braves were cooked when Beachy was lost for the season. They have certainly
exceeded my expectations. Well done, team!
Fans should boycott the Oct. 5 game in protest of the Braves’ celebration for qualifying for this game.
September 27th, 201210:33 am
Why not celebrate? I sure do, and will after every win GO BRAVES.
September 27th, 201210:36 am
Did this dude PAY for any of the champagne?? Well, why the hell should be care? What business is it of his??
September 27th, 201210:37 am
I totally agree with Chipper! He has earned the right to pop the cork with his teammates. And if on Oct. 5th they do lose, at least September wasn’t a bust. It’s been a great farewell month to an awesome player, teammate and person. I will miss Chipper Jones.
September 27th, 201210:40 am
Go BRAVES! Nuff said.
September 27th, 201210:41 am
6 (Cox) would have won at least 4 more World Series if he had a closer like Kimbrel.
The Braves kept bringing in marginal guys or guys that other teams had discarded to close. Now they are doing that very same thime with the bench with Baker, Overbay, and the like.
Lay off of 6!!!
September 27th, 201210:43 am
Was at the Braves game last night and I was still celebrating….we’re winners! Let the team have some fun. I love Chipper Jones and have loved him since I was in 5th grade (I’m 31 now). Yep, Chipper has been here forever, and Atlanta will always love him. This is his last season, let the team celebrate and continue to do so, as we take it on in to the World Series. Go Braves!
September 27th, 201210:45 am
Sirius is your friend. Not sure how you guys can listen to 680 or 790. Both are just absolute crap. Get Sirius you won’t look back.
September 27th, 201210:47 am
You guys leave my hero and friend John K. alone. When everyone else wanted to run me out of town, he was there for me. And when I was finally run out of town for the small crime of being terrible at my job, I was there for him when he suffered that terrible emotional and mental breakdown. John is doing so much better now. But you can’t expect him to process information like a normal person. I hope that he recovers to that extent some day. But we’re not there yet.
September 27th, 201210:49 am
@whatupdawg, that was funny as he11! great comeback to chipperdaddy….
September 27th, 201210:55 am
Chipper, You go boy! It is the teams time and don’t worry ’bout the small stuff. Each and everyone of you have played America’s game to your best. Most people would give anything to have walked in a baseball players shoes. You deserve to celebrate at each milestone so enjoy it. Go for it!
That was as much relief as it was celebration. You know they saw that shadow lurking in the back of the dugout. There’ve been just enough mishaps with this team to make everyone more than a little skittish. Great to see them overcome that doubt. Now that they’ve had the relief, let’s have a real celebration in the playoffs!
September 27th, 201210:57 am
A Celebration of a Season of Vindication and Retribution! That is what that was, and it was well deserved! How well I remember those same faces and the expressions that were displayed last year at this time. The Boys of Atlanta deserve everything they have this year. They deserve all the accolades that will come their way. They Earned Them. Why? Simple: they learned from their mistakes. (BTW, I am a Philly native, Born and Raised, but I live in Atlanta now, and have been rooting for the Braves since 1989. Remember, Worst To First?)
September 27th, 201211:01 am
At one point (many years ago) Buck & Kincaid was a somewhat decent show. Lately it has been on life support. I would like something put in there place. Chuck & Chernoff are great!!!
September 27th, 201211:05 am
Can not wait for new sports radio comming soon No more Snake, Tinker Bell, Beau Crock Deminner, Kiddycade ect.
Happy Days are on the way
Brave New World
September 27th, 201211:19 am
The Braves are citicized for celebrating mking the play offs? Really?
September 27th, 201211:32 am
Whose complaining?? What bunch of goobers. The Braves shoud enjoy this trip especially Chipper!! They made it to the playoffs, the second season!!! That is the goal and its something to celebrate!!
September 27th, 201211:35 am
Holy crap! Don’t have a cow because their celebrating making the playoffs. They earned it. Go find a chick-fil-a to boycott or some other worthless endeavor to try and make other people as unhappy as you are.
September 27th, 201211:39 am
Celebrate for all the reasons…a good solid season, Chipper’s farewell, individual achievements. Who cares???
come on Chipper, sobber up and play ball man.
September 27th, 201211:51 am
Kincaid, your Phillies are the ones who should be celebrating — their wretched season is almost finally over! No questions asked.
September 27th, 201212:13 pm
Oh god, Gonzalez. Do NOT listen to Bobby Cox about advice going into the playoffs! He only succeeded one time and that was largely thanks to his pitching staff rising above his stupid rotation decisions.
You should give La Russa (3 world series) and Torre (4 world series) a call instead.
September 27th, 201212:18 pm
Seriously? What kind of @$$hole criticized the celebration? This team blew a crazy-big lead last year and hasn’t been to the postseason for 7 years with the exception of 2010. They deserve to celebrate and I’m glad they did. If you’re criticizing this, you’re just a bitter jerk who needs to find something else to be pissed about.
September 27th, 201212:54 pm
kinkcade has been censored on 680. He loves to mouth off anytime he makes some sort of news. Any mouthing off today at 680?
nope. not a peep about yesterday’s show. not a sound. not a squeak.
tired of yankee commentators
September 27th, 20121:00 pm
All I know is that Kincaide’s a relocated damn yankee, so are those idiots on 790 (Shapiro, Cellini, Dimino). Guess they couldn’t get jobs in whatever nothern rustbelt hellhole it is they come from, so they moved south. I’m glad I don’t really care much for sports talk radio, otherwise i’d have nothing worthwhile to listen to.
JCB in Dunwoody
September 27th, 20121:02 pm
Great job managing, Fredi. Let ‘er rip in the post-season. I expect this will be the first of many post-season appearances for teams you manage. This year you managed the pitching superbly, allowed Heyward to rebound and Freeman to grow, made Chipper your partner in the clubhouse, managed the shortstop situation deftly, got some good miles out of Sheets, brought Medlen along nicely, kept the pressure off of Uggla (HE OWES YOU ONE!) and weathered McCann’s slide. Well done!
September 27th, 20121:09 pm
What amazes me is how so many people dislike Kincade but can repeat every word he says.If you dont like him why are you listening?
Iggy – The braves celebrating is just immature and childish.
This made me laugh. You calling out the Braves as immature and childish is the epitome of hypocrisy in light of all your immature and childish postings today. Thanks for the laugh, though.
September 27th, 20121:20 pm
I have no problem with the celebration of popping the top of champange bottles. These guys have worked hard and the deserved to celebrate. They didn’t go and get arrested for dui’s like these other athlethes do.
September 27th, 20121:26 pm
Reading this blog makes me wish for those postings by people who regularly criticise Fredi’s managerial skills and/or Uggla’s batting ability. At least I feel these posters genuinely cheer for the Braves, but just do not like or approve of everything they see on the field. I can understand that. I just do not understand the troll mentality present here today.
Is it really unforgiveable that the Braves’ celebrated.reaching the playoffs? I trust that all you people critical of the celebration are the very best at what you do. I am not talking near the top. I am talking No. 1. If you are not considered the best at what you do, stop this hypocrisy. Otherwise, continue your criticisms and do not ever celebrate the milestones in your own lives unless it involves crowning you No. 1 at something.
Braves Fan 1963
September 27th, 20121:37 pm
Do people have nothing better to do than to judge EVERYTHING that EVERYONE ELSE does? I think these guys are old enough to do what the heck they want – and they deserve it! At least they aren’t getting arrested for DUI, etc. They seem to be real down-to-earth good guys to me! Congrats Braves!!!
September 27th, 20121:46 pm
The guys on talk radio are no more informed or thoughtfully educated about sports than many of the posters here. So why listen?
September 27th, 20121:48 pm
Braves Fan 1963 – I bet if we could look behind the computer screen and view the lives of these posters who judge everything in a negative manner, you will find a large number of people who are struggling with their own personal failures. Rather than take some personal responsibility, these people would rather drag others down with there negative judgments. I could be wrong.
September 27th, 20121:52 pm
Lets put this in prespective, the Braves are only ahead of three other teams to make payoffs.
In college two teams out of 120 or so make the playoff.
680. Not a peep today. All generic.
For all who HATE Kincaid, or Steak, or King, or any radio personality — you must be listening. Losers.
September 27th, 20121:54 pm
what a terrible example for our chidren and so is chipper. is he married now our is he still having chidren out of wedlock.
September 27th, 20121:58 pm
All of you guys are being Bullies!
I can’t believe anyone is giving the Braves grief for celebrating. Good grief, this may be the only opportunity they get to celebrate this season. And whether you like Chipper or not, he has been with the Braves for his entire career. That kind of loyalty isn’t seen too often in sports anymore and I, for one, applaud it.
September 27th, 20121:59 pm
That’s the smartest thing Chipper has ever said.
Thats’s the smartest thing Chipper has ever said.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
