Win Number 90 — and no way we will not be the top WC team, so that is good.

I think I can get over last September now — working on it anyway. Win the WC game and I think I can get over it for good.

I should have enjoyed this team more — its really been a great run with a good bunch of guys.

Because they are going to finish ahead of the Cards now, the playoff clincher seems more real.

And a win over them in the WC game will be the sweet revenge.

I almost would be happy to pass on the division cause I want the Cards in the WC game in Turnerr Field. I won’t complain about the division if they find a way to get it, but a WC W vs the Cards and a long postseason run (hope WS champ) is the story that I can take for a lifetime.

He was supposed to have control issues but he worked on them in a hurry cause he has not really had bad controll issues at the MLB level.

The Pirates were perennial contenders during the 70’s and 80’s. From birth, the Royals were always contending during the 70’s and 80’s. Cheap/incompetent ownership, mediocre player development, and cities that don’t scream “glam” to the modern FA ballplayer have decimated otherwise loyal fan bases.

About the same. Last year the Braves hit .235/.300/.357/.657 in Sept, this year they’re hitting .234/.306/.343/.649

Our pitching has been much improved, holding hitters to a .210 avg. compared to .260 last September

I cannot stand the fact that the first four games of the season are all that separate the Braves from first place in their division.

More than that, I hate the fact that if you possess any of the most basic, fundamental powers of perception you knew without a doubt those losses would set the Braves back in September.

The Nationals have every reason to make division winner T-shirts already.

They’ve been the baseball equivalent of a basket of blind puppies for decades yet have somehow become the gold standard for excellence in the span of a season.

They found what it takes to be great.

The Braves are no worse or better than anyone expected.

They deserved to celebrate last night, they win again tonight but the division talk can stop.

Too little too late.

It’s over. They lost. To the Nationals.

Four games.

Tommy Hanson getting a start might as well be the white flag.

Nah, he’ll probably be fine for 5 (about 94 pitches), and then Fredi will go get him first time a runner gets on base. (that’s another thing Fredi has gotten smart about it… when Tommy reaches the 5th, put the short leash on him)

Dearest Carroll, First venture back in about 3 weeks–thanks to Nolie’s sound advice—-and here I’m confronted by an article stating that some kind of an assessment can be made about a MLB team based upon a game against a NOW minor league team playing without Stanton, Ramirez, Morrison, Bonafacio, Sanchez, Infante and probably a few more I have forgotten. To quote the police officer in “Bridesmaids” when our heroine calls her blank buddy to pick her up after accident–C’mon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nolie, Once again thanks for the wakeup call. I mean it.Hpe this doesn’t requalify me as an agent provacateur. I just think it was one of the most inane articles I’ve ever read. Medlen is exceptional enough, do not judge ANYTHING based upon a game or a series against the Miami Marlins of Jeffrey Loria and his stepson, inimitable Magic Midget, David Samson. Back in a week.

Call me a hater. I don’t care.

I got my playoff ticket. If they win, I’ll buy another.

That said, I refuse to pin my hopes of a division title on Juan Pierre’s defensive incompetence and the washed-up Phillies to do what the Braves themselves should have done.

Maholm…..the guy doesn’t give much color in his commentary; I guess he’s still learning the ‘folksy, southern’ way.

I wish Chipper would refrain from letting a couple radio talk show clods get him in a twist…they say/do like they do for the reaction and after-show talk…..advertising pays their bills and that stupid talk just fills the air between commercial spots.

The Bourn thumb is now pushing electronic game buttons and will be appropriately ’stretched’ by first pitch tomorrow.

During the Post-Game Show, Fredi appeared ‘relieved’ or perhaps the Milk of Magnesia hit a home run, regardless Fredi never addressed the ongoing problem his team has leaving base runners hanging….and, to my knowledge, no member of the media asked about it……you can be assured this problematic component of our team will surface during the playoff engagements.
