Dusty Baker had a stroke…oh, man. When did that happen?
September 25th, 20127:46 pm
cab, yeah, he’s up there above my “that’ll work” comment. I’m jacked for this trip!
September 25th, 20127:49 pm
@cricket, I have enjoyed Copper.
Probably caused by an a-fib episode he had. Hope he’s ok. Should be.
Medlen has done an outstanding job of retiring hitters with a limited amount of pitches tonight. I especially like his multiple strike outs on three pitches.
September 25th, 20127:50 pm
Any of you bloggers going to be at any of the games this weekend? Hit me up. I’m going to all 3.
September 25th, 20127:52 pm
Let me go ahead and get this out of the way. I know the reporters have a schedule made out early in the year and that is why Carroll works some series and Mr. Obrien is off.
That having been said and not to steal George’s thunder but for Mr. Obrien to be off on a night when the braves may clinch is strange indeed. Seems it would be all hands on deck for a possible clinch.
September 25th, 20127:55 pm
regardless of who is there to report on it let’s get it done.
Well Lane, if you noticed earlier, David has been busting it working on the special coming out at week’s end….
Perhaps he was too busy today? Hmmmm? Maybe?
September 25th, 20127:56 pm
Marlins announcers talking about how well respected Ozzie is and praising him for his honesty. I bet Loria could do without some of that honesty.
September 25th, 20127:57 pm
Reed Johnson looks overmatched by Eovaldi.
Too busy when the team may clinch? I don’t think so.
September 25th, 20127:58 pm
Almost made contact.
That would be akin to covering all the pre-fight intervies etc and not covering the fight.
September 25th, 20127:59 pm
Wayward resurfacing when it can least be afforded…sigh.
September 25th, 20128:00 pm
Heyward swinging at another pitch out of the zone.
Lane Kiffin = ACE
September 25th, 20128:02 pm
Eovaldi obviously owns us now. In fact it it was up to Sniyker we’d still be losing
Simmons back to the minors…..
September 25th, 20128:03 pm
Snitiker is awful…..
That should make you happy phil, i know you must have missed being able to rip on him all the time
Phil you seem obsessed with George and ace. I hope you do not transfer that to me.
September 25th, 20128:04 pm
Freeman just missed that tag.. throw was a bit too close to home.
Maybe DOB is masquerading as CR tonight.
September 25th, 20128:05 pm
Phillies 5 Nats 1
September 25th, 20128:06 pm
Phils up 5-1 on the Nats, bottom of the third
September 25th, 20128:07 pm
Let’s go Phillies!!!
Rip on who, Pete? Ace? It usually wasn’t me….
I agree. Running through a stop sign and having a bang-bang play at the plate is one thing
Running through a stop sign and having the ball cut off is another.
September 25th, 20128:08 pm
I just got here. Do you have any new news on nolie?
No worries, Lane….
September 25th, 20128:09 pm
You would really think DOB would want to cover these important games this week.
And you would really think that you would know by now that DOB does not make his own schedule
September 25th, 20128:10 pm
no I was kidding you about the Wayward post phil
September 25th, 20128:11 pm
Sneaky is more concerned with ripping people than he is with nolie…
nolie might get home tomorrow George, we’ll see
September 25th, 20128:12 pm
I owe you an apology…. seems my subbing Alex Smith for Tom Brady jinxed the ‘Niners.
true, not my day to watch him, its Jake’s turn
September 25th, 20128:13 pm
No, no, no…..last thing i want is for him to fall on his face now.
Need him badly if we’re to do a thing.
no offense, but to use Alex Smith over Brady is a bit odd…
September 25th, 20128:14 pm
Screw the niners…..hate that bunch.
I predicted last week that the Niners would lose a game to a team they are much better than. It’s what they do. Just hope they got it out of their systems early
I had more faith in the Ravens D than I should have, and I sold the Vikings short.
September 25th, 20128:15 pm
I mean, c’mon, it’s THE VIKINGS.
September 25th, 20128:16 pm
Who is this young pitcher with the big era that’s shuting down the Braves’ bats?
Fredi should have at least 15 more home runs with as much power as he has. If you’ve ever watched him in BP, he simply launches shots into the upper decks of almost every park. I have no idea why this doesn’t translate into the games.
September 25th, 20128:17 pm
C’mon, let’s get some runs, Braves!!
September 25th, 20128:18 pm
Eovaldi already at 80 pitches. Might be done after the 5th
September 25th, 20128:19 pm
T-Dawg, he did miss a handful of games with the eye problems and finger injury.
Too busy when the team may clinch? I don’t think so.
Oh you silly man. What does it matter if O’Brien is there to cover clinching an appearance to some meaningless playoffs. How sad it must be for you to be so blind, but don’t dispare. I,too, was like you only a brief couple of days ago. One of the unwashed masses, thinking playoff baseball was serious.
I’ve been enlightened on this very blog, and now I’m free to see it for what it is, just a few series that tell us nothing about who the best team in baseball is.
same young pitcher who shut them down last week, Jay
September 25th, 20128:20 pm
Is Jair Jurrjens showing up at the Braves’ home games, or has he started his winter vacation?
good to see that you finally learned the reality Bat
September 25th, 20128:22 pm
September 25th, 2012
Yeah, I took that into consideration. Look, he’s just a kid but like I said, with as much power as he has you would just thing he’d hit more. His power in BP is insane.
Chance to gain ground on Nationals today
Bay Area Steve
As you parody that discussion, tell me you caught him telling us that we were taking the games too seriously. Us. Not him. Us.
Wow, Bat, that was rather Shakespearean!
September 25th, 2012
Doesn’t the Ted have a larger seating capacity than most other MLB stadiums? Not making excuses, mind you, but that could be why it’s hard to fill up. I don’t live in the ATL, so I’m sure those who do would be able to offer more insight
THE TED is 3rd largest seating capacity, only YANKEE and DODGER STADIUMS larger.
I knew someone would bring up the schedule.
September 25th, 20128:25 pm
Bat thank you for clearing that up.
Let’s get some runs!! Ready to see a celebration tonight!!
September 25th, 20128:26 pm
That was deep, Bat.
September 25th, 20128:28 pm
Torii Hunter, JR, COMMITS TO NOTRE DAME? Didn’t know Torii Hunter was old enough to have a JR going to college! sHeesh!
September 25th, 20128:30 pm
McCann with an OPS under 700 and a BA under .230. How can the Braves consider paying him $12M next year and not be actively shopping him to an AL team? He had his best year in 2006 and has lost some every year since. Not falling off a cliff every year but does anyone really think he will ever have another 2006 or 2008?
“@ajcbraves 56 pitches for Medlen through five innings, still 1-1″
SNEAKY PETE _
Yeah, at first I was a little depressed but I’m over it now.
Thanks for the updates on nolie. Glad to hear things are better.
This is disheartening…the Braves have a chance to clinch a playoff spot, with their best pitcher on the mound, and they’re struggling against a kid with a big era.
September 25th, 20128:32 pm
dang, all of Reed’s at-bats have looked bad tonight
I did and I’m really sorry I was a day, or so behind, it would have been fun to wade in.
Eovaldi at 94 pitches.
Best pitcher in baseball and we cannot provide any kind of run support for him.
It’s embarrassing to watch time and time again.
How are we going to win one game against any playoff team when we’re being owned again by a relatively unknown Miami Marlin starting pitcher?
Mac will be back I’m pretty sure, love handles and all
September 25th, 20128:34 pm
I really like pitching against the Braves hitters. It reminds me of when I pitched in the minor leagues.
oh shut up Mitchell. Go look upwho Baker is and why we are playing the Indians in August next season.
September 25th, 20128:35 pm
Nice play, Old Man
September 25th, 20128:36 pm
What happens if Kris loses tonight and gets hammered in his next start? Do we still revolt if he doesn’t start the playin game?
September 25th, 20128:38 pm
94 pitches in 5 innings and we have 1 run.
And another one!
September 25th, 20128:39 pm
Any ideas on answer to the trivia question? Besides Chipper, which other Braves player has hit 200 HR in Atlanta?
September 25th, 20128:40 pm
Soph & usnavy
Sure thing, Kane.
September 25th, 20128:41 pm
Yikes he just carved up Prado on 3 pitches…..
September 25th, 20128:42 pm
Eovaldi is tough.
Run, my son JHey!!!
Make this triple count, please!!!!
September 25th, 20128:43 pm
Thinking it has to be Andruw or Murphy
The young Eovaldi is ripe for the picking this inning. Third time through the Braves’ lineup, 90+ pitches, with the heart of the order coming up.
That’ll work Old Man!
there’s your 2 runs Meds
Sac fly Chipper!!!!
Chippa!!! gonna miss that stuff
September 25th, 20128:44 pm
Play on, Chipper Jones!
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
