Medlen has done an outstanding job of retiring hitters with a limited amount of pitches tonight. I especially like his multiple strike outs on three pitches.

Let me go ahead and get this out of the way. I know the reporters have a schedule made out early in the year and that is why Carroll works some series and Mr. Obrien is off.
That having been said and not to steal George’s thunder but for Mr. Obrien to be off on a night when the braves may clinch is strange indeed. Seems it would be all hands on deck for a possible clinch.

Fredi should have at least 15 more home runs with as much power as he has. If you’ve ever watched him in BP, he simply launches shots into the upper decks of almost every park. I have no idea why this doesn’t translate into the games.

Oh you silly man. What does it matter if O’Brien is there to cover clinching an appearance to some meaningless playoffs. How sad it must be for you to be so blind, but don’t dispare. I,too, was like you only a brief couple of days ago. One of the unwashed masses, thinking playoff baseball was serious.
I’ve been enlightened on this very blog, and now I’m free to see it for what it is, just a few series that tell us nothing about who the best team in baseball is.

Doesn’t the Ted have a larger seating capacity than most other MLB stadiums? Not making excuses, mind you, but that could be why it’s hard to fill up. I don’t live in the ATL, so I’m sure those who do would be able to offer more insight

McCann with an OPS under 700 and a BA under .230. How can the Braves consider paying him $12M next year and not be actively shopping him to an AL team? He had his best year in 2006 and has lost some every year since. Not falling off a cliff every year but does anyone really think he will ever have another 2006 or 2008?
