Yea, to get Falcon coverage you have to get it from the net.
I could care less about the Hawks as long as the Atlanta Spirit is around, I am a Celtics fan anyway.

“I should get used to it though. Free Agency is here to stay.”
Free Agency has been around since the late 70’s but its was not a crazy rampant as it is now.
At least through the 80’s and early 90’s you did have guys like George Brett and Robin Yount stay their careers with mid western teams like KC and the Brewers.
Its getting harder and harder to keep your best players around and in the Braves situation unless there is a way out of that crummy TV deal, we will see more and more fan favorites walk away.
But the Braves are playing too good of baseball for now to worry about the stinking business of the game.
The business of major league sports stinks — plain and simple.

Pistol Pete and Sweet Lou Hudson were the men in their day.
I go back to the Dave Cowens/John Havlicheck days of the early and mid 70’s.
I loved Bird but Havlicek, Cowens and Jo Jo White are my 3 favorite Celtics cause that was the era I grew to love the game in.

Braves win 8-2, magic number is reduced to 3.
Braves are 11-6 vs. Phillies including 6-2 at Philly.
Minor (10-10) wins and has 2.37 ERA in past 14 starts. He’s 3-0 with 1.09 ERA in his past four starts.

I see where Cincy clinched the division today and good for their fans that they are now a viable team again.
They have been through their fair share of rough times — and the embarrassing stewardship of Margie Schott.
And the Braves wrap it up and you have to feel good for Minor getting his record to .500, his 10th W & how he has worked out of his slump in May and June.
He desrves to pitch in post season.

The Reds and Dodger rivalry is history.
We turned it around on the Dodgers when we ran them down in ‘91 and the history of the two teams have changed since.

Disgusted – I saw Maravich play UGA in Athens. He was the most unique and maybe talented player ever despite his NBA career being a little short of superstardom. If there had been a 3 point shot in the 60’s and 70’s, history would have to be re-written for the Maravich era.

Another productive day for the Braves’ postseason efforts! The Braves win today at Philly reduces the magic number over the Cards to 5 with 10 games left to play (and that is key when you get the magic number at half the games remaining because it basically requires the chasing team to win out). Additionally, the Brewers and Dodgers both lost (in addition of course of the Phillies), so the magic numbers are basically reduced to impossible odds for any of those teams chasing for the final Wild Card spot.
Here are the magic numbers at this time (over Cards for the home field Wild Card):
Cardinals: 5
Brewers: 3
Dodgers: 2
Pirates & Diamondbacks: 1

Eric O’Flaherty needed to pitch today. The extended layoff for him meant he did have some location issues with his sinker, but overcame it. You have to pitch your bullpen often enough to keep them sharp.
It would not surprise me at all to see Fredi spot start Sheets near the end of the season, or let Huddy pitch a planned three or four innings his last start and use Sheets and Delgado in planned long relief just to get them some innings in case either is needed in postseason. The other option, of course, is to make the choice to sit Hanson down and substitute either Sheets or Delgado.

“You see those guys’ bodies? I showed it to my wife, and she took a look twice. … You see we have a team with a great body, but not with talent. You see those guys, you see those pictures? My wife take it, they should be a porno star or something,” he said.
“I know a lot of women, they want to be around this ballclub because they have nice bodies. They do. Wow. My players are in better shape than the people who went to the Olympics. You see those guys’ abs? That’s unbelievable.”

Spring training feel to the games now. 6.0 out on the loss column with 10 left pretty much seals our fate in the East. Hanson needed to come up big yesterday.
If we some how manage to close the gap on the Nationals then Hanson shouldn’t start another game this season however if 4 days from now division isn’t any closer and wildcard is sealed then you let Hanson go out and pitch because these next few games will be like spring training and not only that you start Hinske and Overbay and other guys who would be competing for NLDS playoff roster.

I thought he might have had a little left but word had it that he did not hit it off with then Celtic coach Bill Fitch.
With today’s medical technology, it could have helped him.
As for his college career, for that time I thought he was the third best college player of those late 60’s to mid 70’s behind the greats Lew Alcindor (later Kareem) and Bill Walton.
