I’m really embarrassed that Kimbrel can’t get through an inning without a K!!

Kimbrel gets the save, preserves the shutout, and Medlen ties Lefty Grove for 21 consecutive team victories in games started!

How cool is that!

Pretty sure the magic number for clinching a playoff spot is 6, unless you’re counting a tie for the 2nd wild card spot, in which case you would need a 163rd game. But to me, that’s not the playoffs.

Nats are feeling the pressure…They’re still down and the Braves could be 4.5 games back after tonight. Not many games left, but we’ve seen a collapse before. ;)

You do realize he’s just pushing your buttons, dontcha?

The way to get him off the subject is to just agree with him, like: “Yeah, Brian ‘Weight Watcher’ McCann might be a tad on the heavy side!”

Mac has always been slow. Kinda like Freeman and Bruce Benedict and my wife. All very slow runners.

But I’d sure like to see him get a trainer for the winter for career longevity. I understand that sometimes a catcher needs to go into the season a bit heavy, as they will lose some weight over the year. But I don’t think anyone would disagree that he could be in better condition.

And that’s all i’ve ever wanted too for mccann….

Please get in shape. For several reasons.

DS1

I don’t think so. Not 30 lbs worth. I am 40 lbs over weight. And no way is Mac anywhere close to that. He might be 15-20 lbs too heavy. Maybe.

Have you seen him up close? He’s really not fat.

phil

No, not up close. I’ll go with 20. I call it fat. Different degrees of fat of course.

Disney world fat, walmart fat, mccann fat….

I was a good 30 pounds heavier at one time yrs back, and thinking about it that way, yeah, 20 makes sense.

In May I’d be the first to tell you that Kris Medlen’s greatest contribution to this team would be to have quality bullpen outings to bridge the gap between the starter and the closer. But I was definitely wrong!

And darned happy to be wrong four shore.

Medlen’s ERA down to 1.51. I know he won’t get the cy young, but it still seems unfair. He’s so far ahead of Dickey in ERA, it’s ridiculous.

Yeh, as long as you can perform at HOF level you can do as you please. Lose 8 mph on your fastball, have a bum shoulder and bad back and you might want to consider adding some fitness to your heavy lifting(beer drinking). Just a thought.
