Tough loss. I am glad the Braves showed some fight and mounted a comeback, I have to wonder about their decision to pitch to Reyes or to have Gearrin pitch to him.

you just can NOT leave a roogy like Gearrin in against a lefty hitter in that kind of situation. I’m not a Fredi hater or a manager basher, but that was stupid and I called it here at home.Roogies will break your heart. Moylan tried to and Gearrin succeeded.

Well, at least I didn’t call a sweep… Just a series win. :)

Sucks to lose this way though. Still nice to see us come back in the 9th. Gearrin got a ball hit softly, too softly to be turned into an out. Guess it’s another consequence of having a roogy out there.

it does not matter that Reyes is a switcher, Gearrin is not good against lefties.

“Not to jump on after Rick, pointing out the switch-hitting thing…but why not…”

Better numbers for Reyes hitting left handed…..thus the reasoning in bringing in a lefty to face him. Or the best course of action, not pitching to him at all.

This loss is squarely on Fredi. This is twice this year he has left Gearin in to face a lefty late in a game and lost. What an idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You never let a side arming righty face a lefthander with the game on the line. It is these kind of stupid decisions that will cost Fredi his job. Inexcusable for this to happen once but to let it happen twice in the same year is laughable.

ACE, I haven’t been around these blogs regularly that much until recently. So DOB usually goes softball on criticizing, eh? (and just a sidebar q: why does Carrol Rogers fill in so much? Just curious). Anyway, I have said it here before: Fredi too often does things that do not give his team the best chance to win, and tonight was another prime example. Especially given the fact they likely lost their defensive specialist SS for the season, he should have gone all-out to try to win it.

One of the toughest losses of the year especially after coming back in the 9th inning. Feels like a post season loss. Division now wil be tough unless we run the table and go 13-0.

This one hurts.

Hitting Hernendez by pitch was the turning point of the game. Reyes is an allstar and that ball just dropped in no mans land.

I would have opted to use EOF in that inning given the importance of the game. No need to save them up. Just manage as game goes along. EOF should been there in that inning or even Avilan.

Janish said shoulder has subluxed (partial dislocation) 8-9 times in past, but this is 1st time they had to pop it back in. Painful. But X-rays were good and he got immediate relief once the trainer popped his shoulder back in place in clubhouse. He didn’t have it in a sling or anything after game, was just being careful with it. But could only talk to us a few minutes before he had to head back to training room for more treatment.

I have subluxed my shoulder in the past and required it to be put back in. Usually pretty tender the next 3-4 days but can be back playing footy by the next week. Depends on how serious Janish’s injury is and the treament he gets will obviously help. No doubt he will be playing with pain, just depends if he is the type of bloke who can play with this type of injury. I would be doubtful as playing SS you make alot of dives and likely hood of reinjuring shoulder would be high.
