Braves have Had Good Luck there as opposed to the Old Joe Robbie Stadium which was a House of Horrors for the Braves especially in September Games

Actually, the Marlins may see a bit of a spike since it’s Chipper’s last series in Miami.
Braves stepped up against the Nats. They know the Marlins are a dangerous team. Just take it a game at a time, guys, and everything else will fall into place.

“But this is a “trap series” if the Braves let it become one. It falls between an important home series in which they invested a lot of emotion and swept the team with baseball’s best record, including two nationally televised wins, and a road series against the resurgent Phillies, who would like nothing better to make things difficult for the seemingly playoff-bound Braves.”—DOB

DOB, please confer to Braves manager that flipping Medlen and Mahlom for first 2 games of Marlins series on 09/25 & 09/26 will set them up for Medlen/Hudson the first 2 games of playoffs. This works for WC or straight to NLDS. Day off on 24th will still allow normal rest for Medlen. This is best shot at setting rotation for playoffs without skipping starts and having too long of a layoff between starts.

Seems fairly certain that Overbay won’t make the post-season roster…I think he was a low-risk gamble, and his performance was going to have to earn him a spot. At this point, it hasn’t.

Hinske is a more complicated case I think. While his performance certainly doesn’t warrant a postseason spot, Fredi has continued to use him as the “go-to” left handed hitter off the bench, even on days when more successful hitters are available, such as Francisco, or Chipper on an off day. If I was making the decision I’d leave Hinske off as of now, but since Fredi is going to have a say, I’d bet that Hinske’s on the team.

Buster Posey could be getting some MVP consideration, stronger numbers than Ryan Zimmermann:

.333/.407 .545/.952 22HR 73R 93RBI 1SB 88K

I still think it’s Braun:
.312/.387 .602/.989 40HR 95R 103RBI 24SB 118K

But if the ‘roid thing has cast a pall and the team needs to be in the playoffs, Posey looks like the choice. Ironic that Posey picks up the slack from his own ‘roider.
