I still fear a collapse after what happened last yr.
I will never really forgive them for that.
September 16th, 20128:22 pm
Sure enough Gio butt kissing going on.
Reed Johnson allows people to rest for the stretch and hopefully October without a drop off in production
Excellent at-bat by Johnson
Good battle for Reed
September 16th, 20128:23 pm
SF game has not started yet
Everything ‘works’ at this point in the season.
Lets Go Jason!
September 16th, 20128:24 pm
Excellent AB my tail — the result is nothng and Bourn could have stolen a base had he not fouled that pitch back.
He deserves to be Booed after that AB. Its the Results that count –
Winners get the glory — losers get the boot. Reed has done a good job but that AB produced zilch.
I still fear a collapse after what happened last yr.
Get over it, amigo.
That was neat….they upped the field mic so we could hear the music/reaction to Chipper coming to the plate
September 16th, 20128:25 pm
This is a must win game and there is zero place for moral victories.
Disappointed by the turnout for tonight’s game. Lots of empty seats at the Turner Field.
Little hit Old Man…. c’mon!
September 16th, 20128:26 pm
Roger. I’ll let Fredi know.
Hell, with how the rest of football today went I think the Lions can win tonight. Main factor will be the officials.
Sorry Jeff R — Its not somehing to get over.
That collapse stunk bad. It was BUMB.
September 16th, 20128:28 pm
Still the productive inning.
We made Gio work.
The good thing is that the Braves made Gonzalez work to finish the inning, although I was disappointed in the outcome of Heyward’s at bat.
Moral victories and nice tries deserve to be Booed without concrete results.
Outta here to watch games. . DO IT NINERS AND BRAVES.
September 16th, 20128:29 pm
Yeah, if you’re a dick
FIRE FREDI GONZALEZ
September 16th, 20128:30 pm
Braves lefties need to bunt on Gio. Zimmerman’s softball toss will never get them at 1st.
As for fotball the Patriots suck — they are on their way to a 4 or 5 W season.
Very BUMB today and I am dropping Gostowski from ny fantasy team.
Pats are one of the big choke teams in the league and the Brady/Belicheck reign of being a first rate coach/QB duo has to be in question after that POS today.
I hope those fans Booed cause they deseved it.
Dodgers are literally playing for their playoff lives and nobody is there?????????
Normal for Dodger Stadium I suppose.
September 16th, 20128:34 pm
way to go kid
I hope that Frank Gore and Randy Moss do not get many fantasy points tonite.
I wish the Lions well — those fans have suffered enough.
No love for Stafford cause of his failings at UGA, but as a pro QB he is a better QB. He was a BUST at Georgia considering the hype around him, but he is a fit for the pro game.
September 16th, 20128:35 pm
Mixxo we can’t throw stones. We should be averaging 30-35,000. We would have 50,000 tonight if we had fireworks.
September 16th, 20128:37 pm
“Yeah, if you’re a dick”
jefferyd — Now, that was funny, even if the joke is on me. I can take it. And yes, I am being a d**ck tonight. I am not happy about the Pats- Arizona game so I am being a real d**k.
Maybe the Braves should go after a player by the name of D*ck Sterr. Than they would have a real d**kster in the middle of their lineup.
That was a pretty drive
Stafford is a product of Calvin Johnson and the NFL’s new arena football rules.
September 16th, 20128:38 pm
Ball was HIGH!
September 16th, 20128:39 pm
come on Danny
September 16th, 20128:41 pm
Good at-bat, Uggla!
September 16th, 20128:42 pm
Maybe so FFG but he has been successful to date.
The rules are what they are — I am not crazy about it either, you cannot play defense anymore.
Stafford is the best thing to happen to Det Lions football since Barry Sanders. And before Barry, well, have to go back to the 50’s.
September 16th, 20128:46 pm
atta boy simba
So far so good.
Make Gio work very hard.
21st Century Schizoid Man
September 16th, 20128:47 pm
Mixxo you’re a dumbass! Glad to have you back!
September 16th, 20128:49 pm
Minor is having a helluva Ab for pitcher.
21st Century Schizoid Man-
I’m growing thicker skin.
Well, we cleared MM anyway.
September 16th, 20128:50 pm
day um it good battle MM
September 16th, 20128:52 pm
At this rate Gio won’t go past 5 innings so as long as we keep making him work I think we can take over in the 6th inning
RBI > OBP.
After watching this Braves offense and their runners LOB game in and game out, if you do not believe the above than there is nothing that can help you understand the game of baseball.
I do not care what Bill James or any of the saberheads say—
I will take a run batted in over a runner left in scoring postion anyday.
OBP means nothing to this Braves team — we get man on but do not score.
September 16th, 20128:54 pm
Mike Minor has earned the starter’s spot in post-season.
Lower Anaheim Angels 2 1/2 games out
September 16th, 20128:55 pm
Smoked his azz
PAINT – nice pitch MM
September 16th, 20128:56 pm
Werth looked incredulous on that strike 3.
September 16th, 20128:57 pm
Mike is pitching a heckuva game so far.
Nice grab Reed.
Mikey is doing his part….Lets get this guy a few runs.
September 16th, 20128:58 pm
jump him Bravos, crush him ,run him
Second time through the order.
Get something going, Braves!
September 16th, 20128:59 pm
Thanks for the link, cricket. Funny to read the comments over there. “All the braves are tough outs and work the count”. “none of their guys have any patients, swinging at the first pitch” yada yada
As seen over on that Nats blog:
8:59 PM EDT
The team definitely needs to figure out a way to solve the Braves. I don’t want to see this team in the playoffs.
Nice to see their fans worry about our Braves.
September 16th, 20129:01 pm
The team definitely needs to figure out a way to solve the Braves
Were they expecting the Nationals to go 18-0 against the Braves this year?
September 16th, 20129:02 pm
Good eye Mikey!!!
Nice AB Mikey!
September 16th, 20129:04 pm
Reed should put a sac bunt here
Any reason that Reed Johnson does not bunt him over?
September 16th, 20129:05 pm
What Veer said
September 16th, 20129:06 pm
Nice swing, Heyward.
Stop chasing that @#$%, kid!
Oh no.. JHey holding his elbow…
September 16th, 20129:07 pm
September 16th, 20129:08 pm

September 16th, 20129:11 pm
Washington blog says….rogers1
7:10 PM CST
This could be the melt down of all melt downs. I don’t know how many games the Nationals will actually win for the rest of the season. Those 6 games against Philly are getting bigger and bigger.
September 16th, 20129:13 pm
Chipper breaks them through
Way to go, Chippah
Get it, Old Man!
His name is Larry Wayne Jones – FInally a hit with RISP – wow.
September 16th, 20129:14 pm
Chipper is THE MAN!
FInally a hit with RISP – wow.
Not to nitpick, but we had at least one yesterday
September 16th, 20129:17 pm
Yes!!! WTG Freddie and Jason!!!!!!!
Gonzalez is a bit rattled.
Ugly but it worked ……WTG Freddie!!!!!!!

Look at that pitch count… wow. Good baserunning there!
September 16th, 20129:18 pm
Come on, uggla
There are your two runs MM – make ‘em hold up
80 pitches for Gio.
September 16th, 20129:19 pm
is Minor throwing warmup pitches?
Good grief, Dan
a little to patient there Uggla
Dang i hope we’re getting the inside corner of the batters box like that in the top half of the innings….
September 16th, 20129:20 pm
Good work by the offense to continue to make Gonzalez work and then score a couple of runs. Good execution in the 3rd inning. Minor needs to continue making good pitches.
Hang in there ol Hoss you can rest in november
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
