Phils run of division titles now officially over at a mere 5. Phils have been the “poor man’s Braves.” Now they are the “poor man’s Pirates.” When we play the Phils in Philly it will be interesting to see how many die hard “fans” are still left on the ghost ship. It will be years until the Phils are contenders again.

I won’t even take the time to tell you who I think that pitcher should be but his initials are CM.
I won’t disagree with you either, but I have never understood why he spells his name with an extra “H”. Christhian, never seen it spelled that way before.

Medlen Will start in the wild card game! As for hanson hes a good pitcher havin a bad year,alot of clubs would & could use him.maholm will be back next year hopefully, hes definitly a solid 4 or 5 guy.
i hope next years rotation looks somethin like this.

Dont look so bad really……when beachy gets back you’ll have 3 very solid young arms & 2 proven vets in the rotation pretty well rounded if you ask me

Regarding Hanson: Unfortunately, as a 26 year old starter he should be improving as he enters the prime of his career, instead in every possible measure as a starting pitcher he has regressed from a top of the rotation pitcher to a pitcher that will not get a start in the post season. His biggest liability, besides giving up 23 hrs. this season, is inability to hold runners on base which unfortunately with a .270 obp is very common.
Ps. If Minor had Hanson’s run support he would have 15 wins

Greetings all, tough weekend for VaTech football, as for UVA… well, it has been a pretty tough decade or two. Trying to root home the Braves for the playoffs and can’t help but feel frustrated when they forget how to catch and throw the ball. The not being able to drive in men in scoring position seems to go without saying. If I were an opposing pitcher, I think I would walk the lead off man and balk him to second to prevent the Braves from getting a hit… I cannot remember another team with such a disparity in getting guys on but not getting them in.
All that said, Simmons may be the game changer for the Bravos. I really loved what Paul Janish brought to the ream but Simmons also brings his bat to the game as well as his glove. Walk really needs to work with Paul in leveling out his swing to hit more line drives, he is blessed with Raphael Belliard power. Even if he could hit around .240 he could be a Gold-Glove candidate at short.
While he’s at it, Walker could put a martingale on Uggla to stop that upper cut swing of his too. Danno has enough power to drive em out without trying to put it in launch mode which results in mile high pop ups.
