BTW, with as much as I’ve complained about the umps this week, i’m glad that once we finally got a blow call in our favor, we took full advantage.

Imagine if Freeman was more athletic and could play a average LF, we could transition McCann to 1st base which would probably keep him healthier and could play more than usual. Of course this is just a what if tho lol.

Very sloppy game for two playoff bound teams.

@C Van Damme — All points well taken on the 6:07 post — but what do you do about catcher after 2013.

There are signs he is breaking down now — I get that some do not want to overextend him given the yr he has had this yr and his injury plagued finish last yr.

But where is the alternative — will probably settle for some journeyman catcher cause I doubt Bethancourt is any more than a BU catcher. He is not a stud prospect, maybe not even a starter.

I am curious to what Prado will ask for and be worth when its his time to hit the FA mkt. There are so many plusses with his versitility and all around solid game.

I believe McCann’s “would be” contract would be much less than that if he was a free agent after this season. Coming off the worst season of his career and with a list of injuries and concerns. I don’t see 5 years 75 million at this point. But 2013 can change that opinion.

@Cletus Van Damme — As for the Red Sox, they want to groom Ryan Lavernway at their C of the future.

They are in a downsizing mode though its hard to guage who is in charge up there.

Their biggest need is a new manager and pitching coach. And who is going to make the baseball decisions — Is it gonna be Ben Cherington or is Larry Lucchino going to be a medler.

If Lucchino/Valentine win the power struggle that org is a dysfunctional mess for some time.

Some of you commenters obviously never played much baseball. I never understand the approach from game to game….because it changes game for game. Heyward swung at the first pitch that looked GREAT but was an EXCELLENT pitch by the pitcher that ran in on him. I think Jay-Hey shut you up VABravesfan with his “approach” his last at bat huh?

I doubt that the Dodgers will take Uggla — they have taken on enough bad contracts that they hope to get something out of.

The Braves best best on Uggla is to work it out — he hustles and still has some pop. And he does play a decent second.

Trading Hanson I am all for that. Hinske and Diaz are gone (thanks for the memories)

I don’t know how far they will go in keepong EOF and Venters who will be arb eligible.

JJ will be non tendered too — that opens up a little bit of room.

Having a vet like PM is insurance in case Julio is indeed another overhyped prospect.
