So now McCann’s hamstring is bugging him. How many concerns would he have to have to not do the option? Bum shoulder, Some kind of eye/vision issues, Hamstring, added to the normal wear and tear of playing catcher….

Mac has shoulder issues and hamstring issues as well eye issues. Is this guy really 28? Did he fake his age ? Is he really from United States or did he fake his country of birth and age and sailed from Cuba? Judging by his health noway is he only 28 yrs old. The guy is like 38 years old.

One more stat on Medlen: He’s the first Braves pitcher since 1900 to have two games with at least 12 strikeouts in the same month. Think about all the great Braves pitchers who’ve not done that, from Spahn and Niekro to Maddux, Smoltz and Glavine.

We better be careful to get overly excited. The Braves need to maintain this momentum because several times this year the Braves have tied a game only to go out and allow a run in the next half inning. One of those times being against the Nationals in June.

I wasn’t suggesting that, just saying that it limits the Braves from ever getting creative with McCann. Cause 1st base would be the only other likely position he’ll ever play and with Freeman we can’t afford to do it.
McCann’s injuries are starting to add up and 2013 look to be his last season likely unless he completely bounces back health and performance wise.

Jackon a sore loser whining about 1st base call. I mean Fox was praising this guy like he was some military hero but look at what a jerk he is looking back at the first base umpire. I mean hey make the pitch to Heyward and get him out. Don’t go mumbling as if you are the next great thing. Edwin Jackson is a medicore pitcher and he is bad mouthing as if he is a top of line pitcher. Fact he he would have given up runs anyways. Guy is a 5th starter with the Nationals. He should behave like a 5th starter and not like an Ace. Guy is a loser. Fox made him seem to be a hero.

The thing that concerns me about the Braves is Freeman doesn’t always play hard, neither does Chipper or Francisco. And why is Heyward the only RF in the league that has sun problems in RF in Atlanta ? One thing I’ll say about Uggla, he does go hard….all the time.

He might get that and if that is what the market will bear, the Braves have a chance on keeping him. I just do not want to give him 16 plus mil per yr.
