I like the proactive move to lift Hanson before the sixth inning and his spot due in the lineup.
September 15th, 20125:40 pm
damn I was so sure Georgia would get us a win somehow
Tech… Schmech. ‘Noles all the way!
Good job by Constanza too stand there and look at strike 3 down the middle, Hanson could have done that easily.
September 15th, 20125:41 pm
if he had not been due up this inning, he would likely be back out there again
September 15th, 20125:42 pm
C’mon…that was hitable now….we can’t get it if we keep the bat on the shoulders. Some of these reserves look rusty….I know we do simulated game work but WTH.
September 15th, 20125:43 pm
1st half 393 PAs with 74 Ks
2nd half 265 PAs with 66 Ks
Thats pretty alarming, Oh hey we can add another 1 to that after that AB….
FIRE FREDI GONZALEZ
This team is pathetic. No hustle. Bobby would not stand for this.
September 15th, 20125:44 pm
McCann left with what Braves are calling tendinitis in his right hamstring. Day to day.
Bourn and the rest of the offense continue to look lifeless and terrible.
Virg 7 GT 42 with quarter and half to go…
Season from hell for Heap.
September 15th, 20125:45 pm
hmm, not good for Mac. This has been one bad year for him.
Dont Swing at anything Venters throws and it will result in automatic work.
September 15th, 20125:46 pm
jusya heap of junk
So now McCann’s hamstring is bugging him. How many concerns would he have to have to not do the option? Bum shoulder, Some kind of eye/vision issues, Hamstring, added to the normal wear and tear of playing catcher….
McFann =Ô= =Ô= =ô=
Crap. Thanks, DOB.
September 15th, 20125:47 pm
Mac has shoulder issues and hamstring issues as well eye issues. Is this guy really 28? Did he fake his age ? Is he really from United States or did he fake his country of birth and age and sailed from Cuba? Judging by his health noway is he only 28 yrs old. The guy is like 38 years old.
September 15th, 20125:48 pm
Bourn, Bourn, Bourn, Bourn…yea, he’s the reason we are where we are..pathetic people..
Espo 171 Ks?
They’re saying he’s no fun to face? Especially with the high ERA the past month–ok….teach us how to support our pitching staff Big Fox boys!
Hate it for him, hate it for team.
September 15th, 20125:49 pm
McCann played a ton of games behind the plate for what 6 years, so that’s taken a huge toll.
Poor Mac what a string of bad luck, except for baby Colt, which kind of puts things in proper perspective.
September 15th, 20125:50 pm
Yeah. Me, too.
Venters looked pretty special in the 6th.
September 15th, 20125:51 pm
Ivan Rodriquez Molina and others played catcher as well. No excuse that 6 yrs of catching is taking its toll. javy Lopez didn’t fade off in 6 yrs
Hugo Z Hackenbush
How come no screaming about Freeman’s screw-up? Without it, you likely have a tie game. But then the bitches couldn’t go on and on about Hanson, so I guess it’s all for the best…
I went to several first half games when he was on fire. So he more than did his part thereof…..but you know how the ‘what has he done for me lately crew’ travel.
Franz Strasser @franzstrasser
Apparently the #Braves decided not to have @bravesorganist play intros anymore. What a shame. Watch his story: http://bbc.in/JRxCsk
September 15th, 20125:52 pm
That’s very true…
Johnny V nice job
September 15th, 20125:53 pm
Braves have the worst bench in baseball. Bourn isnt worth no 10mil let Nats have him make there lineup worst next year.
Aaron Brantley @BrantleyAaron
@bravesorganist why aren’t you playing anything?
1h Matthew Kaminski @bravesorganist
@BrantleyAaron I’m playing charges and clapping songs, and ‘Take me Out’
September 15th, 20125:54 pm
One more stat on Medlen: He’s the first Braves pitcher since 1900 to have two games with at least 12 strikeouts in the same month. Think about all the great Braves pitchers who’ve not done that, from Spahn and Niekro to Maddux, Smoltz and Glavine.
September 15th, 20125:55 pm
I don’t think Macs fading but catching is an incredably demanding position, physically and mentally.
That was an out.
After all the crap calls we have received today, I will take that one
September 15th, 20125:56 pm
Love it when the bad calls go our way.
Goomer just got tossed!
That’ll work. A rare break for the braves.
34-40=Braves record vs teams above .500. There is no way I would ever buy the argument that this is a great team. Better than average team? Sure.
September 15th, 20125:57 pm
Good to see a manager with some fire. Go Davey.
The Braves received a gift call from the first base umpire so they better take advantage of the situation.
Incredible stat dob – look at all the strikeouts smoltz, maddux, niekro, and even glavine have for their career
None of those other pitchers had David Ross to catch them.
September 15th, 20125:58 pm
McCann has been damaged goods for years. He’s a 3-month catcher. It’s not going to get any better.
@McFann…………………….”Mac out with tendinitis.”
I know he would be contributing more if he was not hampered with all this physical stuff…you can take it to the Bank….he’ll be back as good as ever once he heals, I am sorry for you in that he is unable to be the Mac you love to cheer.
I bet u Bourn will get 12 -r- 13 million. Bitch all u wish but he cared the team 1st half and still makes no excuses for his bad “O” . No one wants to win more.
That’ll work, Jason.
Uh oh. What will the bitches whine about now?
How hot are the Nats going to be now?…
September 15th, 20125:59 pm
That works. Now take a damn lead and hold it.
I’ll bet Davey is hot now.
Too bad that Freeman or McCann are both are not athletic enough to play any other positions. McCann’s future is likely in the AL.
Nice Homer for Heyward. Boy Nats fan’s are fuming right now.
Jason listened to me.
Big thank you to the ump.
The face of the Franchise!

Way to go JHey
Jason with da Bomb!!!!!
That was absolutely smoked…….A BIG….Carry On My Heyward Son!!!!!!!!!!!:)
The Braves are great –
Great shot by Jey Hey.
They are not BUMBS anymore.
A gutsy and courageous comeback. One 4 da good guys.
September 15th, 20126:01 pm
that homer sounded like a rifle shot
Man, when was the last time we saw that from Jason?
Just pretend it’s the Cubs from now on, J-Hey.
why would they even think of moving Freeman with his glove?
I see DOB put me in with George again on one of his rants. Maybe the next class he attends will focus on retractions and proof reading.
Thanks. He’ll be Comeback Player of the Year next year.:)
h to the e to double l yea
We better be careful to get overly excited. The Braves need to maintain this momentum because several times this year the Braves have tied a game only to go out and allow a run in the next half inning. One of those times being against the Nationals in June.
September 15th, 20126:02 pm
Awesome – tie game!!
On another note, if you’re listening on the radio or watching on the computer… meaning your TV is free.. you should tune into ABC Family.. The Sandlot is on… love it. It’s a kid’s movie but one I enjoy… I mean does anyone hate that movie hah.
September 15th, 20126:03 pm
We still need to score at least one and maybe more R’s.
This is not in the refrigerator yet, as Chick Hearn would say.
This is a MUST WIN game today and the job is not finished “yet”.
Come on Braves.
Keep it goin’.
We need runs. We need a win.
This time last year everyone was bitching and calling for J-Hey’s head..damn glad they did get it.
September 15th, 20126:04 pm
didn’t get it
I wasn’t suggesting that, just saying that it limits the Braves from ever getting creative with McCann. Cause 1st base would be the only other likely position he’ll ever play and with Freeman we can’t afford to do it.
McCann’s injuries are starting to add up and 2013 look to be his last season likely unless he completely bounces back health and performance wise.
September 15th, 20126:05 pm
Jackon a sore loser whining about 1st base call. I mean Fox was praising this guy like he was some military hero but look at what a jerk he is looking back at the first base umpire. I mean hey make the pitch to Heyward and get him out. Don’t go mumbling as if you are the next great thing. Edwin Jackson is a medicore pitcher and he is bad mouthing as if he is a top of line pitcher. Fact he he would have given up runs anyways. Guy is a 5th starter with the Nationals. He should behave like a 5th starter and not like an Ace. Guy is a loser. Fox made him seem to be a hero.
The thing that concerns me about the Braves is Freeman doesn’t always play hard, neither does Chipper or Francisco. And why is Heyward the only RF in the league that has sun problems in RF in Atlanta ? One thing I’ll say about Uggla, he does go hard….all the time.
Ok TM, we promise to not get “overly excited”–if you promise to not bitch incessantly when the team is down by two…
aha Va, I see
September 15th, 20126:06 pm
Since when is a tie game not in the refrigerator?
jell-o ain’t jigglin????
“I bet u Bourn will get 12 -r- 13 million. Bitch all u wish but he cared the team 1st half and still makes no excuses for his bad “O” . No one wants to win more.”
He might get that and if that is what the market will bear, the Braves have a chance on keeping him. I just do not want to give him 16 plus mil per yr.
4 yrs @ 50 mil — that is not unreasonable.
7 yrs @ 90 to 100 plus mil — that IS not sensible.
David re: Medlen…at this point Fredi’s gotta arrange it so that his last start (if needed) gets him full rest heading into the Wild Card playoff game. Jeff’s blog asked who to start in that game, Medlen or Hudson? I think the answer is a no-brainer, right now.
September 15th, 20126:07 pm
FF only needs double now.
Freeman is a double away from the cycle!!
My typo — should have posted 5 yrs at 90 to 100 plus mil on m6:06 post.
September 15th, 20126:08 pm
Lar ry Lar ry
Uggla does that too much. He gets fooled on the first pitch and pops it sky high and subsequently does nothing.
