Yeah, I would love to see a balance between slugging and patience for Heyward in 2013. Swinging at the first pitch and popping it to second base is a problem.

Im my opinion you gotta make em throw some strikes, he walked Prado on 5 pitches and missed badly on his last pitch. Go up there and work the count a little. Let the pitcher get himself into trouble.

Freeman has been terrible in all facets of the game recently. No way Hanson can minimize the damage here with his lack of command and pedestrian pitch offerings.

Thought Hanson worked on his delivery so they cant steal think he should be in AAA with JJ. take that Boras. Hope Braves dont pitch him again. I spent all morning in fall ball screaming at 12 year olds to hustle on defense, step and make good throws, take the outs the other team gives you and do not hold the ball in the outfield, throw it somewhere. I dont understand how these kids learn all these bad habits.

Hanson might have worked on his delivery but is just not talented enough or too lazy and stubborn to change.
Don;t know which one, my guess is this loser BUMB has a lack of talent. He has zero MLB ability.

Yeah, Hanson and Jair are definite non-tender canidates next year. Hinske is gone for sure and I still believe that Heyward will be the CF next year. Just don’t see Wren spending premium money on CF when he can use that money on two corner OF’s with pop. I say that unless a guy like Franklin Gutierrez from Seattle comes available and you deal him straight up for Hanson.

Wren and his minions are the kings of pizzin down your back and telling you it’s raining. I remember during the off season and spring the buzz from the Braves that Tommy had changed his delivery.
I also remember the first time I saw Tommy this year and thinking, “what a load of bull. It’s the same dart throwin’ Hanson we’ve always seen.”

Tommy’s biggest problem is lack of command, always has been. even when his velocity was there he still went deep into counts, now that it is gone he needs it more but still an’t get it down

Simmons, in the same situation runs, and Uggla winds up at 3rd after the throw.

The runs were unearned and easy groundballs that should have been fielded and should have made the sure play. Regardless, they get tagged to Tommy on this blog. Freddie and to certain extent JHey were at fault for those last two NAT runs.

Hanson is a middle reliever, maybe a closer, but I doubt it. I think his days as an effective starter are winding down.
Roger’s got a big project on his hands this winter if Tommy is in our rotation plans for next season.

Consider this: If the Braves would have been out of the race at the trade deadline, we probably would have traded Tommy Hanson, Michael Bourn and maybe even Tim Hudson. We could have gotten some amazing talent in return and would have been in a GREAT situation going ino next year. I’m sure Bourn will walk…Few will want Hanson an we will keep Hudson. Of course, keeping Hudson is not bad, its just that we could have gotten some serious talent. Our starting rotation next year would have been

Uggla comes threw in what might be a losing effort. Of course he’d smack a double with a RISP when were down by 4 already, and then risk going to 3rd with the pitcher on deck.

Hanson could use a fresh start in KC or someplace low pressure. He also needs to make the mechanical adjustments he needs to make. He seems to have reverted back to his old form, not that he changed much anyway
