I shouldn’t have to point this out to all of you simpletons but I called this train wreck a long time ago. Maybe now you understand why. Fredi can’t manage. Chipper can’t play. Nobody seems interested in coaching Hanson, Freeman, McCann, and Uggla out of their slumps. You’re all just a bunch of sheep for thinking this group of Fredi’s misfits would do anything. Next time you might think about listening to someone who actually knows what they’re talking about. Braves are toast until Fredi and Chipper are history.

Give him a rest. Uggla and others improved after a rest. Even tonight Freeman had 2 hits after a day off. However, I think Bourn needs a longer rest. A 162 game schedule is brutal on the body. Fredi seems to have learned that for pitching this year, having used O’Flaherty, Venters, and Kimbrel less this year after last year’s collapse and it seems to have paid off in good pitching in September most nights. However, he hasn’t seemed to learn that the same applies to the regular position players.

How about looking forward to next year? I would say forget Bourn, Uggla, McCann, Hanson, JJ, and all the old guys they picked up cheap like Batista. Lose Hinske and Diaz for good. Try Francisco at 3rd, Simmons at SS, Prado at 2nd. Keep Freeman and Heyward, Johnson in LF. Give Constanza a shot. Use Ross and Boscan. Medlen, Minor, Hudson. Dump or trade Maholm. Give some minor league guys a chance for some backup. Get a bat and pitcher. Maybe trade Venters.
Lose the entire coaching staff, and possibly the GM.

Braves look absolutely worn out — extremely surprising since Gonzalez schedules days off like a retail manager.
No reason for Bourn to be playing tonight. A couple of days off would do wonders for his legs.

I’m not trying to be overly partisan political….Just pointing out that while we just got swept in Milwaukee some of our Ambassadors, our soldiers and our embassy staff were dying across the globe…..
So let’s not forget those fighting for their and our lives instead of baseball games….I’m not giving up watching baseball and my Braves, but for sure the outcome in MLB is down the priority list…..
Chipper talked yesterday about the 9-11 game our Braves played eleven years ago….so I don’t think it is a stretch to take a hard look at this latest 9-11 fiasco….

was his most memorable game of his 20 years….
So just pointing out here that as sick as another Braves collapse may make us……….let’s remember the real battle and real “scuffle” is for life and death….that makes it easier for me to put the game tonight in perspective…..

I mean, I know Fredi ain’t the smartest, most strategic manager you’ll find, but come on now. He isn’t out there botching baseballs, watching fastball after fastball go right by him, getting rattled like a little leaguer when something goes wrong on the mound, and on and on. He gets under this fans skin too, but there’s only so much the guy can do.

John Leonard, I personally would like to see Bourn back next season if we can get him without breaking the bank. Since he has an established track record of fading in the second half, maybe he will need more time off in the first half to help keep him fresh. He has played in 142 games this season.

Nolie, My once every 2 weeks comment. Isn’t it very Skip Carayesque to still be needing to “sweep 3 to win the division”, it’s bad enough that he is only in a broadcast booth outside of Billings or Yakima,however, when he makes comments like that you must think that both granddad and dad are ordering a celestial nightcap. “Win the division”, just get Medlen lined up for the one game playoff and stop the BS. The Braves are in and the Nats are very good with or without Strasberg. Sweep them and you “cut it” to 5 1/2, and that would put them in 1964 Phillies range.

People are saying Collapse but that is far from the truth. We can just win 20 percent of the games from here onwards and still make the post season because niether the Cards or Dodgers are doing anything. Bottom line is that we will be in the playoffs. No reason to panic. Yes it is frustrating to lose all these games but it’s not the end of the world.
In fact of all the wildcard contenders the Brewers would give Braves the least hardest time despite of the sweep. I am rooting for the Brewers to win the wildcard. Lets look at the contenders
1. Cardinals- Dangerous offense everyone is hitting .300 and with Loshe and Wainwright they can shut any team down
2. Dodgers- Kemp Hanley Gonzalez Either with Kershaw pitching.
3. Pirates- They are finished but I hope they make the wildcard because they are the easy to beat
4. Phillies- Not much offense won’t score many runs.Got good pitching but that is irrelvent as this won’t be a series it will be a game and their big 3 isn’t any better than Kershaw or Wainwright and thus I wouldn’t mind facing the Phillies in that 1 game
5. Brewers- Good home team pathetic road team. Will be away game for them if they play us. Apart from Gallardo they don’t have much pitching and Gallardo is inconsistent. Got to watch for Braun otherwise a team we can beat.
