Two balls that don’t leave the infield then a HR, WOW
Uh oh… Not good. Homer bug hits Maholm again. ANd Weeks stays hot. 19th HR allowed by Maholm.
September 12th, 20129:33 pm
Make that a triple sigh…..
Not surprised at all….Maholm is terrible.
the ole snowball inning. oh well what are you going to do ….
Makes you want a true offense, dont it? GEEZ
…And a Bratworst thing to happen there!
It is so hilarious that 10 games can shorten the length of a contract 4 years, cut the value of it $50 million and get a guy released instead of having his arb years bought out.
Or so some bloggers think, if you call what they do thinking. A new set of morons every week.
Chipper’s defense would be an issue in post-season play.
September 12th, 20129:34 pm
Oh. So this is what a clutch-hitting 2nd baseman can do. I see.
Paul Maholm is the king of costly homeruns killing this team. Chipper Jones should fielded that ball.
Fredi get off ur @ss
Maholm getting hit now…
What rhymes with chokers?
Shocking. Who would have thought? Most players can’t hit home runs when it’s thrown right down the middle. Collapse has been re-engaged.
September 12th, 20129:36 pm
September 12th, 20129:37 pm
Maholm reminds me of Livan. Sit back and crush off speed.
I wonder if Chipper will call out Chipper?
Best defensive team in the leagu, huh?
Don’t let the fielding percentage fool you. This team is FAR from the best defensive team in the league.
Hugo Z Hackenbush
What rhymes with N8? Hate.
Another Maholm BP Home Run Derby, Chipper old-man at 3B night.
Shoulda pulled Maholm after the HR…. he’s getting hit! Geez, only now are guys getting warmed up in the ‘pen.
Welcome back-September Atlanta Braves.
I give up. Goodnight all.
This team is playin ugly right now.
September 12th, 20129:38 pm
Yup. This team can play defense alright.
Blow it up Frank. This team can’t hit. Can’t pitch in the clutch and the manager is a baffoon.
Jasons Shrinking Waist
Dont think the Phillies arent watching this game with interest…they know they will be within eight games after this loss
Do we need to start thinking about the Phillies AND the Brewers passing us. They might as well; the Braves are not playoff-worthy at this point.
top two guys in the brewers order are getting on base and knocking in runs, the braves top 2 are not … that’s why the brewers are now in a good spot to finish the sweep
If Your team gave 5 outs in an inning, Thing can get ugly pretty fast.
At least the Nats are coming to town….lol
Chipper showing his age in the field tonight….
Can’t knock the guy though.
Meanwhile, I guess Malawful is taking one for the team.
Well, at least the Cardinals lost. Hopefully the Dodgers will lose again too.
September 12th, 20129:39 pm
They just don’t deserve a playoff spot.
“Don’t let the fielding percentage fool you. This team is FAR from the best defensive team in the league.”
That’s about like saying we have the 4th best offense because we’ve scored the 4th most runs….not even close to the 4th best offense….
Yet another monster inning for the Brewers against the Braves.
One Big Dummy
Why is he still in the game?
So that’s what a hit with a runner in scoring position looks like.
And three games to play IN PHILLY next weekend….ouch
September 12th, 20129:40 pm
Time to Hang Em up Chipper! cost us 2 runs!
Sheets? Y not??
And the only out was on the pitcher sacrificing. Pathetic.
Brewers are a dangerous team.
It’s gonna take a Chipper miracle !!!!!!!!!!!!
Can’t they replace Chipper at 3rd with Prado? His defense has become a liability and this game is too tight right now. He has only been hitting singles of late. We need a strategist as manager not a fearful manager
September 12th, 20129:42 pm
Braves may make WC, but we are one and done
Fredi needs to take him out now!
Chipper's Farewell Defense Tour
Chipper not being capable of playing decent defense is evident virtually every game now. Seems like he’s making at least one play a night where he boots the ball. Some are called errors. Some are generously not scored errors. I suppose that is in defference to the future hall of famer.
Chipper should speak to reporters tonight and tell them how HE contributed to this loss instead of insinuating someone else isn’t producing. He’ll probably blame it on Janish like he did when he dropped a pop up a couple of weeks ago.
JoeWhat a joke!Damn

Playoff tickets now on sale!!
This team is a joke.
Maholm is Denny Neagle without the lame ass train whistle.
Ryan Braun. Better living through chemistry.
This is on Fredi. Why didn’t he pull Maholm out sooner? At least TRY to keep it close!!!
Let’s not forget, Maholm is basically a Cub. Cubs don’t play post season baseball.
Thought the Braves were past the September swoon thing. Obviously not.
I mean, we’re playing Milwaukee for Christ’s sake–a sub-.500 team entering this series. They didn’t even bother to wait til the 7th inning to blow us out tonight. What a crock.
ATL’s pro teams are simply incapable of taking that “next step” toward a championship. After nearly a half-century of this incompetence (excepting ‘95 Braves), you truly have to wonder if it will ever happen.
I just don’t know here….have no clue what Fredi is processing.
The A Bomb
This just happens way too often.
HEADLINE: Manager grows nuts, sees them fall off
hold em at 7!!! that way you’ll only lose by 5 ….
September 12th, 20129:43 pm
Please fire freaking Fredi. He has no clue when to take a pitcher out.
This game went downhill fast.
Maholm sucks and clueless Fredi should be fired. It was obvious that Maholm had nothing left, but dumb Fredi waits until the game is totally out of hand before he pulls him. The guy is an awful manager.
Fredi has to be the dumbest manager in the western hemisphere.
Does someone care to remind me as to why there were not changes to a team that blew a huge lead and collapsed last season????
Is it me or did the Bravesvjust become the Cubs?
Fredi G. is always one step late.
Why did he leave Maholm in there?
Maybe we need to trade for Braun and try to improve the chemistry of the team. Or maybe just get some from his chemist
September 12th, 20129:44 pm
It must be nice to have a legit offense….
Hate a strong word but I hate Fredi Gonzalez managing skillz
Too late Fredi, too late. Dang.
Hold ‘em here CMart, drop your .285 oppo. batting average. We need to win this one.
What a Joke for a team…Fredi & Roger don’t have a clue when to change a pitcher. This team is getting funny.
Fredi you moron. Do u have money on the brewers. U idiot

that’s three more near certain losses, much like the three to come with the nats.
We’re quickly getting in trouble. Sad.
The Brewers have taken advantage of every mistake the Braves have made in this series and unfortunately, the Braves have made plenty lf mistakes. Wow. This is terrible.
Hey the bright side is I dont have ro stay up late on worknite tonite, lol
September 12th, 20129:45 pm
Fredi Gonzalez must go. It’s that simple. Trade Maholm and his worthless ass.
Actually at this point, I’d like to have Denny Neagle back. Gave up Vizcaino for this, huh?
I’m telling you. If the Braves choke this off, Fredi’s job is not safe. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me if Wren’s job is not safe.
Lovely defense by the HOF 3B. Wonder who he’ll call out tonight? Well done Chipper.
Every night fg leaves pitchers in too long and this is the result: meltdown III
as I said 2 weeks ago. Its done, we just to have to wait until the last week of the season to be out of the playoffs.
Boo again for horrible play. Love the team but hate the September play. Team needs real leader and a good asskicking. Are the Nats coming next? Ugh!
Ok Fredi….let’s go with….”The Beer Polka,” wiff Mitch Miller…..feel free to ’sing-along!’
Have they done that thing were they show a shell shocked Maholm futzing with a towel on the bench?
September 12th, 20129:46 pm
All those people that were so excited about the Paul Maholm signing are now wondering what happened.
We traded for an over 30, soft tossing pitcher with a career ERA well north of 4.00…and I ask you, what exactly were you expecting? Surely you weren’t thinking that the hot streak he was on was anything other than just that…a hot streak. Welcome to reality and the real Paul Maholm.
Bring me up to date. Exactly why is Simmons not playing tonight?
Even the pitcher hits…. CMart blows again. Told y’all he’s not that good.
Gonzales has to go, get a coach that understands how to handle a pitching staff……..
Infield defense is very worrisome.
Dan Uggla & Chipper among the worst. FF has been shaky.
This is simply pathetic…
September 12th, 20129:47 pm
If Wren has any balls, he’d fire Fredi TONIGHT! Show this sorry sack of losers that losing is NOT acceptable two Septembers in a row.
Do it Wren. Might be what you need to save your own ass.
Nice relieve …
Off goes the game, on comes the porn….lol
old man… http://blogs.ajc.com/atlanta-braves-blog/2012/09/12/simmons-out-of-lineup-with-ankle-sprain/
“Maybe we need to trade for Braun and try to improve the chemistry of the team.”
He’s signed to a great contract for the Brewers.
“Or maybe just get some from his chemist.”
He had herpes. After this year’s MVP, the ‘roid jokes should be even less funny. He’s just a LF the Braves could only dream about.
how many arms in the pen do we have plus a day off tomorrow…
and paul faces 9 batters with the only out a sacrafice?
friggin earhole somebody fercrhissakes…
old man, Simmons hurt his ankle last night.
Check You Later

Championship teams don’t get embarrassed and swept late in the season.
Of course, this is not a championship team.
Not wasting any more time tonight watching this fiasco.
C. Martinez…good call; we’ve been down this very same road before….and, regretfully, we step in the same deep mudhole everytime.
Lil' Barry Bailout (Unexpectedly Revised Downward)
The Braves should have traded some of their pitching for major league hitters while other teams thought Braves pitching was worth a damn. You know, before the season started.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
