Phillies up 4- in the 3rd inning. Their next 6 games after today are against the Astros and Mets. If they hold on they will be 73-71, 2.5 games back of the Cardinals. Tyler Cloyd started the game tonight.

Comment From TKDC
The Braves go into 2013 with possibly two outfield spots to fill and limited budget. What would be a good get for the Braves in terms of an outfielder for Julio Teheren? Is there a good prospect for prospect trade opportunity there?

Mike Newman(Fangraphs): I’m not sure why the Braves would want to deal Julio Teheran? To my understanding, the organization isn’t really worried about his 2012 and his value has likely taken a hit amongst other organizations. I know they are going to have needs to fill, but this line of thinking doesn’t make a ton of sense.

Comment From TKDC
Alternative to trade or free agency, is there any hope that Evan Gattis could play LF at Turner Field next year? Is he just too slow or does he not play the position well and could improve?

Mike Newman: If you want Gattis as a Hinske type who can play some OF, 1B, 3B in a pinch and mash lefties, then I’m fine with that. I’m just not sure you want to give the guy 600 plate appearances at the big league level. He’s a wonderful find for the organization, but you’ll want to be careful not to expect too much

I agree with Chipper’s view on not getting married again. Dude’s an athletic, good looking, financially secure man…..it is virtually impossible for a man with those credentials to stay faithful and be totally satisfied with having sex with only one woman…..especially when women are constantly throwing themselves at you…and giving you “the look”.

When he said that he’s never getting married again…..it means that he wants the freedom to have sex with whoever he wants…without worrying about being openly criticized….or having to pay a huge divorce settlement. Better late than never Chipper. Now you can be like Tiger Woods and Derek Jeter and bang all the hotties……without being jammed up by the press about it. Notice very little has been said about who Tiger is banging these days. He’s not married anymore.

Derek Jeter did it the right way. Dude got to have sex with and openly date a lot of hotties…during his prime…during the time he was winning championships…..without worrying about being ripped like Chipper Jones was for banging a Hooters waitress while married.

{Prediction from Capitain}……Braves take 2 of 3 from the D.C. Nationals….yep, 7 hits in game one and 10 whacks in game 3….then Apollo landing gear sticks an we crash in game 3 however; arguably the Braves’ skipper; Fredi–get the hook early in game 2 of the series….again, Series Bravos.

The HILLCATS were pretty solid with 2B TOMMY LaSTELLA in the line-up, but he hurt his back. He was able however to return toward the end of the season and put them over the hump, and into the semi’s. Didn’t make too much noise in the finals. Think he aggravated the problem.

RHSP GUS SCHLOSSER came on strong in his two starts in the play-offs. Was pretty uneven during the regular season. Might get kicked upstairs to MISSISSIPPI however.

I’m an Arkansas Razorback fan. The way that Razorback fans have slit their wrists since Saturday’s loss to Lousiana-Monroe…makes the average Braves fan look like Mensa.

Still, you get what you sow. Regardless of what flaws that Bobby Petrino the man has…..dude is a hell of a coach. The Razorbacks fired him because he lied to the Athletic Director about having an affair with some hottie half his age.

I’m like “so what”? People lie about sex all the time. I dont care about who Petrino is banging. What matters is that he built a Razorback team that was primed to compete for a National Championship this year…..and instead…an over matched and clueless John L. Smith turned a Lamborghini into a Pinto. Instead of having a chance to upset Alabama this weekend in Arkansas….it’ll be a miracle that we dont lose by 30!

Razorback nation choose the “self-righteous” approach and fired Petrino. Well, good luck with having a coach who is a “good guy” that doesnt have what it takes to drive the Lamborghini that was given to him.

12 runs scored after the 5th inning by the Padres.

This Braves need a manager who will hold the players accountable when they embarras themselves like they did tonight. I know that Frank Wren would NEVER do this: But I would LOVE to see him replace Bobby Cox next year with Bobby Valentine.

I cannot imagine Valentine putting up with a BS performance like this. He would definitely try and light a fire under this bunch. We need someone to breathe some freaking life into this team. The manager sets the tone for a team. Bobby, with his “we’ll almost had them” crap, is not getting the job done.

Frank Wren, if someone you know is reading this, then I hope that they will tell you that you should consider hiring Bobby Valentine to manage the Braves next year.

It is a tracking form of adware….do a Google on it and see how popular it is with the IT folks………..

I emailed several editors about it and got an email back from the advertising group’s reply …..

Mr. ‘the truth…” –
Thank you for your feedback regarding our new meebo bar placement. This has been on our site for a few months now and we value reader feedback as we decide which of our new partnerships we need to keep. This particular partnership allows us to direct readers to certain parts of our website or allow readers direct access to items such as our Sunday inserts in addition to the advertising associated with it. If you would prefer to hide the bar, you can do so by clicking on the 2 arrows on the far right hand side of the bar. This should keep it hidden until you “unhide” it.
In the meantime, we will continue to gauge user feedback on the bar versus the value it brings to AJC.com. We thank you for being a reader of our website and hope you understand the need to continue to find new revenue streams in order to provide the quality free website that we have today.
