Overbay sucks at 1B. Watch his stretch. Its killing me! Obviously, about the 3rd time I’ve commented on it
in fact, I’m headin’ for a corner right now for the rest of this game…..
cabravesfan, The guy batting 300 is Simmons.
Uggla will bat .150 over the next week, then people will start to think that last week was a fluke. That’s the point, nolie, when he stops hitting, they WON’T sit him. They have proven that. Step back and look at the big picture. He stinks in the field and has hit 216 for an entire season. Some guy getting paid 500K would NEVER be cut that kind of slack, NEVER.
Nats just won again, denying R.A. Dickey his 19th win in NY. Ain’t no stopping those boys.
After Tonight, DOB STILL Won't Ask The TOUGH QUESTIONS
Folks…I am SICK AND TIRED of all this bitching and whining on here!!!!
You just have to tip your cap to the other team, folks. Plain and simple. They hit’em where they ain’t'em! You can plan that. Thats baseball sometimes! Folks, if you don’t learn how to Tip the old Capper, you will be frustrated and disgusted with a team that has NO BUSINESS doing so well. Folks, learn to Tip the Cap. Its as simple as saying…ATTA BOY FREDI!
And as always, avoid the Noid!

“You hope for the best, or go hide in a corner and don’t watch cause you afraid of some disappointment.”
I’m not afraid of disappointment. When it comes to the Braves and postseason baseball, I expect it!
September of 2011 is rearing its ugly head again.
We are going to blow it — again.
Joe Simpson is all over Uggla’s sloppy throw to Simmons on the DP try.
would it kill that buffoon to come out and try to give a little lift to his team and support his players.
it was a close play on ramirez, either way get of your hands and support your frickin team.
yup, that stretch is costing us the game, no doubt….
FIRE FREDI GONZALEZ
This Gearin guy should pitch more often.
they probably didn’t need but the 1 anyway.
Last I checked, Simmons was playing. And Uggla is hitting now. Why worry about the future when you can’t predict it?
Tomorrow’s batting order:
2. Kris Medlen
3 thru 8. 6 players from Lynchburg
I hope we don’t have to hold our breath all the way to the finish line this year. How much can our hearts take? Will the real Atlanta Braves please stand up and be accounted for!
September 11th, 201210:26 pm
I am tired of tiping my cap– I;d rather tip my urinal to the other stinking team.
This continuous losing stinks to the bottom of the plumbing system.
our woes vs. teams with a .500 record or above continues.
Milwaukee is a win tonight away from a .500 record, but they have been playing very well for the last 2 months….
We can beat teams like the Met’s, but not hot teams or above average teams.
Somebody would have to explain “small ball” to FG
He had a guy batting over .300 against right handers bunt – that didn’t make you shiver with bubbly joy? – of course, small ball would have avoided those runs…
man if he was starting he could have done that 3 more times…no way ramirez gets all 4 of them
September 11th, 201210:27 pm
We have had two chances this year to make a run at the Nats, but we have no nuts, so we have folded both times.
Kris Medlen is the only reason we MIGHT win a one game playoff. MAYBE. But I doubt it. Unless Kris hits a HR and we win 1-0.
Nats win again
Gotta love the ole bring in a pinch hitter to try and bunt for a base hit trick.
Disgusted, trying NOT to sound racist, I am far from it, I was refering to Japanese players in that post. I just think their culture of baseball is way different and I just don’t care for their style.
September 11th, 201210:28 pm
Line on Hudson: 6 2/3 IP, seven hits, four earned runs. one walk, four strikeouts. 93 pitches (60 strikes)
Bourn is 0-for-8 in this series.
Nationals take care of the Mets, while the Brewers take care of us.
Brewers just keep running guys out there with 4 and 5 ERA’s and Braves hitters still can’t touch em.
Yet another K for Michael Bourn. His strike outs have been a constant source of frustration this season.
We need to get FF & Bourn going tomorrow.
September 11th, 201210:29 pm
here they go…..rally time….rally just like the Nats!
…anyone want to calculate Bourn’s daily dollar value drop?
That, the couple of other ones and Georgie not starting sealed the deal earlier today!
Might be a good idea to let Bourn ride the pine for at least one game…
either way get of your hands and support your frickin team.
Ah, the myth of the pointless argument as the way to support your team…We knopw Fredi doesn;t care, and the team does too. Empty gestures would be worthless after two years of utter indifference…
Hugo Z Hackenbush
We have no nuts? Speak for yourself sir!
about 3 games of 4 or 5 runs and the anoucers have the braves out of there slump. but then they go right back to there old ways.
September 11th, 201210:30 pm
get him prado…
No breaks for us
Many breaks for them
If Simmons doesn’t choke and throws out Ramirez then the big inning never happens.

BOURN IS USELESS. SEND HIM BACK TO HOUSTON. HE WILL BE A BIGGER MISTAKE THAN CRAWFORD
Dont look now, but here come the Phillies
A couple of gift wins over a terrible Colorado team and ONE decent offensive game in New York against another bad team and the band wagon starts filling up….then the Braves play a decent team and this is what you get
Hudson was ok, but he’s easily on pace to have over a 4 ERA by season’s end.
Who will VJ P.O. tonight? Last night Tiger. He bozoed Mixxo too.
Of course Fredi won’t come out and argue that call. The guy is a robot with no personality. At least he is as a manager from what I’ve seen.
September 11th, 201210:31 pm
Can you guys wake me up when September ends? I can’t take this much longer. Not as much fun down the stretch. Born is working his way out of a big contract. He is a good half year player.
Now see that was a stretch. Had he did the Overbay rendition then Teen is safe!
Little things matter an awful lot in this game!
Brewers were real hot coming in……
Five years, 35 mil for Bourn! That’s the best I can do now.
It would havebeen OK for Fredi to go blow up that 1st base Ump–Prado, could use and deserves the support.
“Nats win again”
Irrelevant. The Braves cannot catch the Nats and the Braves cannot beat the Nats. They will be fortunate to avoid a sweep this weekend. If they take one, that will put them at 6-12 for the season series. And should they somehow miraculously get past the one-game playoff, they would play those same Nats that they cannot beat.
I guess the NLDS experience will be good, but this team is not getting any further (if they make it that far)
He most certainly did not
September 11th, 201210:32 pm
I’m with you. I finally actually looked at Bourn’s stat line yesterday and kind of furrowed my brow. He really doesn’t look like a guy who is about to cash in on a huge pay day.
But, he will.
CTB – on twitter carroll said fredi did come out to argue…FWIW
yeah, but his stretch has had nada to do with this game last I looked
Bourn is clearly a 1st half player, still is gonna get paid the big bucks tho.
cabravesfan, someone tried to equate Simmon’s bobble with Uggla’s bad feed. I was simply trying to say that I am quicker to forgive a guy hitting over 80 points higher.
And I guess what I am saying is that I can predict the future. Danny will return to form right now. He’s not going to flip a switch and suddenly hit .300 over a sustained period. Ain’t gonna happen. I sure hope I’m wrong. But I say play Johnson, the guy already hitting 313 for the year. To me, that is the statistically smart move to make.
2 bad calls at first go against the Braves and Fredi never moves…and why doesnt Pendleton ever defend his players when they argue a bad call?
Fredi’s out to argue that last call at first base on Prado’s groundout….not much going #Braves way at first base tonight
September 11th, 201210:33 pm
That comeback against the Phillies looks even bigger now.
If Braves win one game play-off, they will play Cincy – who they cannot beat in Cincy.
But, the first 2 games would be in Atlanta (due to a scheduling quirk that applies only to this year’s play-offs), which might give us a puncher’s chance.
Tomahawkin?? lying about folks bozoing others again
I despise Braun. He’s in Victorino territory with me.
September 11th, 201210:34 pm
Since you can predict the future, I assume you foresaw Uggla hitting .364 in the last 6 games?
Good thing we have a huge lead in the wildcard and atleast we are far enough back of the Nationals for us to not get hurt with this loss. Bascially we won’t win the division and we can’t lose the wildcard but this is still frustrating scoring 1 run or zero runs vs Rockies and no named Brewer pitching.
Well, at least Batista is in to “mop up”…cannot get any worse, right?
Of course Fredi won’t come out and argue that call.
The offense is not gonna score just because Fredi argues about a call.
September 11th, 201210:35 pm
you peeps are wasting your time with the old man, I think his brain is calcified from age
Brewers playing playoff baseball. Braves suck but none worst than Bourn. Get your playoff ticket for the one wildcard game and watch Braves get shutout .Brewers beating us everyway because they have more speed.
for the record I havent been bozoed…
unless you count the time I dated that clown but I’m pretty sure that is different
September 11th, 201210:36 pm
Phillies and Brewers could be 4 back of the 2nd wild card if the Cards lose tonight. It has suddenly become a 5 team race.
He for sure P.O. ed Tiger. Are Cab and VJ the same person?
I like our chances on the road more than home as our record indicates.
September 11th, 201210:37 pm
Just making points about how the game should be played. Whether it hurt us tonight is irrelevant. He does a poor job at it yet he is out there for us – So, I point it out – You know the game some – Can’t you just agree that his stretch isn’t how or what anyone that knows the game teaches? Or is it ok until it does costs us a game?
Sheer madness that is what we are witnessing! We won’t last if we make the one game play off!
Hey atleast Fredi brought in the right reliever in this situation. Last year he would have called upon Venters or EOF down by 4.
No, Cab & VJ are not the same person
“Good thing we have a huge lead in the wildcard and atleast we are far enough back of the Nationals for us to not get hurt with this loss. Bascially we won’t win the division and we can’t lose the wildcard ”
Fredi: “Wanna bet?”
We had a bigger lead than this last year and still managed to choke.
The Braves always get to face teams when they’re hot.
Just bad luck.
I did nothing to intentionally annoy tiger last night after he bashed Chipper with an misguided attack – he was totally off the wall for complaining – using language that young tiger would certainly appreciate. And Mixxo got himself banned by swearing at at least 2 bloggers – blaming me shows that you have no concept of civility and courtesy in a public forum, but I will forgive you for being a fan of hatred and anti-Braves sentiment…
Brewers and Phillies both will be 4 games out if Cardinals lose today.
September 11th, 201210:38 pm
I thought if they could go into the Nats series 4.5 back they’d still have a shot (albeit a long one) at the division, but going into it at least 7.5 back …… I don’t think it’s happening. But still they need to go into that series ready to play because chances are IF they make the playoffs (and get past that playoff) they’d face the Nats right off the bat so they still need to go in and give them a fight and let them know they’ll be in for a fight.
VJ said he counseled Mixxo. Just his way of saying he bozoed him.
“If Braves win one game play-off, they will play Cincy – who they cannot beat in Cincy.”
As things stand now, it would be the Nats because they own the best record. But it really doesn’t matter. First, the Braves have to earn a wild card spot (not a given). Then, they have to find a way to win that one game.
Just don’t see this season ending on a positive note.
Can we stop the Miguel Batista experiment, please?
September 11th, 201210:39 pm
Very Very strange team.
I understand CTB and did not want to imply that.
Overall, the Japaneese players are not as good as the players who come out of our hemishphere. I do not know if its cultural, its about talent.
Japan has produced one star and that is Ichiro & he is HOf material. There have been a few good palyers but till proven differently the players from the Americas are better. History says it. Its about what is on the field.
September 11th, 201210:40 pm
between the brewers & phillies think some teams might rethink trading away so many players at the deadline?
Batista can bring it 93 Mph impressive
September 11th, 201210:41 pm
The “gagging / choking” Braves will not make the playoffs and the Phillies will be in the playoffs. Difference between a team that knows how to turn it on when the chips are down and a team that runs and hides when it is crunch time. Wow, what a bunch of weanies!!!
If VJ and cab are the same person, I’m impressed.
nah, it is poor. I’m just in a contrary mood over the last two steeenkin’ games….
but I’m kinda surprised that you would fuss about it with all the other stuff going wrong
September 11th, 201210:42 pm
We might not even have to worry about winning a playoff game.
We might still fall a game short. This is not good. This is a fiasco. And the garbage continues.
This bullpen is a garbage dump this series. Very BUMB.
September 11th, 201210:43 pm
Still can’t see this team doing anything IF they get to the postseason
Well, guess we’ll try to “salvage the series” tomorrow! Whoo-hoo.
well I know DS1 and he said he met both CAB & VJ…so unless he is all 3 of them I think they are not the same person
I like bringing is Batista in that spot, the game is already over. Might as well let them tack on a few that’s the ballgame runs so we can all call it a night. They didn’t come to compete anyways. Always fun seeing goose egg after goose egg each inning.
If VJ and cab are the same person
that would include auto-eroticism too I suspect…..
I told Mixxo he was courting trouble, because I always got along with him, but he went off even more – unfortunately, I am not given the power of bozometry – spew foul language at bloggers and these things happen…
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
