I love this team and want each and every guy on it….just in case a few ever wondered….I want all of them to succeed and play super. I have no enemies on this board and am not planning on having a problem with anybody–please (those few of you) don’t take my posts as an ‘attack’ on anyone.
Now, Captain Mudd, that is an attitude that I like. None of this is personal, its a silly baseball blog. There area few who are either ultra sensitive or elitist & that is their problem. That’s how I look at it.
I know some people from Mobile AL who are going to be awfully upset about the time change for Sunday’s game. Had tickets for awhile after planning a trip to see relatives in ATL for the weekend. Great, then watch the game in the afternoon(only one this year) and get home at a decent time. Now thanks to ESPN being allowed to move it to night, that means arriving home in the wee hours of the morning. Kids stay home from school or send them on as “zombie” actors? ESPN and FOX have too much power over these games.
Uggla had one good night a couple of days ago, so he’s locked in as a starter for another year or so. I kept telling you to keep him in and he would come around, and he had that game with a HR and a double. All you nay sayers get off his back. I guarantee he will have another big night in September 2013, if not sooner. Just leave him alone. You’re putting too much pressure on him. That’s why he’s 0 for 2 tonight. It’s not his fault.
I’m not saying cut Freeman. But you’re just putting dead weight out there if you replace him with the obese Overbay or Hinske. Constanza and Reed Johnson are actually hitting.
I told Freddie, “Freddie, don’t you dare bench me. If you do, I’ll throw a tantrum.” So he sat me for one game. Then he came to his senses. How can you sit someone with guns like mine. I mean, really.
Does anyone appreciate how much concentration it takes to look mad and serious when you are getting paid $50 million to hit .214? The mental strain is almost unbearable.
When you think positive thoughts at the plate, it helps to close your eyes. Do that when you swing, and you might get a hit. Then that will boost your confidence. Remember, close your eyes when you swing. Your average will probably go up.
Dan, imagine the ball going over the left field fence. Feel it. Think it. Imagine the flight of the ball, the roar of the crowd. Now imagine you are playing second base, watching the other team’s hitter circling the bases. Dan, sometimes the best medicine is to be well grounded in reality.
I’m amazed that teams don’t put everyone but the 1Bman on the left field side against Uggs and we can hope hes back but it aint happening reaching out there pulling a ball with one hand on the bat being fooled that badly.
At least Uggla is making some contact now. Braves offense in a serious funk. Wasting a good outing by Hudson, just like wasted performance by Minor last night. Somebody has to break out of this with runners on.
