This team seemingly tries to avoid scoring or producing fundamental approaches at the plate with men on base. Bourn, for the second season in a row has disappeared down the stretch.
Another random thought – tonight is a perfect night to star gaze (my laundry facility in my apt complex is in a different building so I walk outside to get to it). Kat

Yikes! What do you do in the winter when there is 10 feet of snow on the ground?
On Bourn where you going to get someone better..braves not buy so he’ll be gone and we’ll end up with another Nate. I’m damn glad we got him, best lead-off hitter in many years.
McCann, Bourn and Prado are the three guys in our everyday lineup that are what you call guys in their prime. The rest haven’t hit it yet, at the end of it, or way past it. That’s what hurts so much about BM struggles and now Bourn’s. Those players are supposed to be carrying you.
Actually, not stalking! I just looked since we have been talking – because I have not seen anything from you and you are still in my friends list (I noticed when looking for someone else earlier) and when I clicked on your name, it said it was deactivated!
Damn it all! The Braves need to score first in every game! They need to get ahead, and stay ahead in every inning! Until they win! And they need to win every game from now until baseball ends in the year 2456!
Bat Masterson @ 8:51 pm …A shovel and a pair of boots. And that’s what a K+ a month will get you where I live, outside laundry..fun times. (sarcasm font) Though last winter it didn’t snow more than 5 inches and that was only 2 times. Global warming at it’s finest.
Another struggling starter finds the instant solution: an outing against the Braves. And as for Bourn, anybody else think he’s starting to worry more and more about the contract, twisting himself into a deeper slump?
it’s in a different building that I walk to (like 100ft away). Truly outside laundry would be interesting….
Kat_
Ha, I pictured you dressed like an eskimo, on a snowmobile, pulling a laundry basket behind you. Outside, like the “good old days” yeah that would be a little rough.
It appears to me that every hitter we have tries to knock the ball out of the stadium not just over the fence. We K way too much as well but evidently thats the philosophy because our swings all look the same regardless of the count with 2 exceptions – Prado who is just a good hitter and a good 2 strike hitter who doesn’t mind going the other way and Chipper who is just so good he doesn’t need to change his approach based on the count.
This is why the whole, we’re 4th in the NL in runs argument does not work. Braves score 11 runs saturday and then score a combined 9 runs over the next 5 games. 20 runs over 6 games makes it look alot better than it has been, which is simply not the case.
Glad I can be of some entertainment to Brava and Bat during this quick boring game. If I showed you how unexciting my 100ft walk is which is probably more like 50ft because I have no sense of length, you’d be sadly disappointed hah.
Off-the-field question, here — can we talk about Chip Caray for a minute? The guy has a great voice, but it’s endlessly punctuated by a nervous chuckle, even when it’s bad news for the Braves. I wish I could pick up the radio guys, just to avoi-i-i-i-d that ann-n-n-o-ho-ho-ying affectation of his.
You know….a little ‘jab’ for the sake of a laugh is not exactly throwing someone under the bus or changing feelings for and recognition of many great things a player has accomplished. I use a lot of tongue in cheek stuff in my posts….I think most regular posters realize this…however, looking at some subsequent comments [on occasion] gives me the impression that there are a few folks out there ready to bite my finger off when I pick a favorite of theirs to use for a well intended joke.
