Commenting on blog thanking DOB and Carroll is not cool. I thanked my attorney that I just paid good money (cash only) for doing her job.

Pitching match-ups for #Braves-Nats: Detwiler vs Medlen, Jackson vs. Hanson, Gio Gonzalez vs. Minor
How many of you are tired of Bourn striking out in the big moments as of late? Wish the Braves had more clutch hitters!
One vote. Hey, let another dumb team overpay for Bourn.
WOW that Mets pitching must’ve been BAAAAAAAD.
This team seemingly tries to avoid scoring or producing fundamental approaches at the plate with men on base. Bourn, for the second season in a row has disappeared down the stretch.
Another RISP and less than 2 outs, and another runner left on base
September 11th, 20128:51 pm
Another random thought – tonight is a perfect night to star gaze (my laundry facility in my apt complex is in a different building so I walk outside to get to it). Kat
Yikes! What do you do in the winter when there is 10 feet of snow on the ground?
September 11th, 20128:52 pm
Of course Bourn strikes out way too much. Third highest on the team, and he’s the leadoff guy. That’s bad.
Be nice if Overbay would stretch toward the ball toward Chipper rather than toward SS!
Since someone asked, Post All-Star:
September 11th, 20128:53 pm
Clutch hitting….Three year tradition of failure. It all started with Troy Glaus.
Nice job Huddy!
Nice play, Huddy!
I keep telling myself over and over that we’ll have one big inning soon…..and, there you go; thanks Timmy–a little payback from an experienced Pro.
Let someone else pay for Bourns great WAR numbers. Who are they using to compare him to? A dead guy? Joe DiMaggio maybe?
September 11th, 20128:54 pm
good thing he got that out.
Ha ha ha. Yes, I did deactivate my FB account. There are several reasons for that. Stalk much? ;}
On Bourn where you going to get someone better..braves not buy so he’ll be gone and we’ll end up with another Nate. I’m damn glad we got him, best lead-off hitter in many years.
Let someone else pay for Bourns great WAR numbers. Who are they using to compare him to? A dead guy? Joe DiMaggio maybe?
HA HA That is funny. Seriously.
September 11th, 20128:55 pm
Overbay makes me think I could play
Offense in full force again tonight.
I want to declare WAR on WAR numbers.
September 11th, 20128:56 pm
What has Bourn done lately?????
Striking out with men on base. He is in a slump and is not worth the big $$$$$$$.
What is it good for
Say It Again.
September 11th, 20128:57 pm
How about that ‘tootsie roll’ pony tail?
McCann, Bourn and Prado are the three guys in our everyday lineup that are what you call guys in their prime. The rest haven’t hit it yet, at the end of it, or way past it. That’s what hurts so much about BM struggles and now Bourn’s. Those players are supposed to be carrying you.
September 11th, 20128:58 pm
These BUMBS are repeating some of the fundamental mistakes of last September.
That collapse should never be forgotten.
Actually, not stalking! I just looked since we have been talking – because I have not seen anything from you and you are still in my friends list (I noticed when looking for someone else earlier) and when I clicked on your name, it said it was deactivated!
Hugo Z Hackenbush
Damn it all! The Braves need to score first in every game! They need to get ahead, and stay ahead in every inning! Until they win! And they need to win every game from now until baseball ends in the year 2456!
September 11th, 20128:59 pm
Bat Masterson @ 8:51 pm …A shovel and a pair of boots. And that’s what a K+ a month will get you where I live, outside laundry..fun times. (sarcasm font) Though last winter it didn’t snow more than 5 inches and that was only 2 times. Global warming at it’s finest.
Bourn is playing himself out of a huge, huge contract
September 11th, 20129:00 pm
Bourn isnt worth anything more than 8 million. Which ever team signs him will be making a huge mistake. A Juan Pierre Crawford type mistake.
September 11th, 20129:01 pm
Bat.. well it’s not ‘outside’ hah, it’s in a different building that I walk to (like 100ft away). Truly outside laundry would be interesting….
Post All Star: .205/.330/.368/.698, but…
Hey, gotta start somewhere.
Wow, Disgusted! No one’s ever quoted Edwin Starr on this blog in reference to WAR! You’re too clever!
September 11th, 20129:02 pm
I wonder what the Brewer lineup would do if they were facing Estrada? I’ll take the over on 4.5 runs….
Can you tell I’m in a mood?
This appears to be another game where the bats are nonexistant.
September 11th, 20129:03 pm
It’s been deactivated…maybe a year now? A while, for sure.
why aren;t we hitting
September 11th, 20129:04 pm
T-Dawg: As so many folks are on this blog–you are wrong.
man went to get a cup of coffee came back we were out.
September 11th, 20129:05 pm
giancarlo stanton with his daily homerun i see…
Bourn will get close to what he and Boras want. Believe me.
@Hugo……Zager and Evans questioned if man would be alive [in the year 2525]……how can man survive 69 years without baseball….MLB?
September 11th, 20129:06 pm
Kat, sounds pretty primitive. Do you have indoor plumbing?
“why aren;t we hitting”
Because we used up our weekly allotment of runs saturday with 11 runs….
they’re saving the bats for the playoffs
Simmons does have brawn
And I just noticed now! Not stalking
September 11th, 20129:07 pm
Cap, everything I know, I learned on “Deep Space Nine.” As in, the early bird gets the wormhole…
Another struggling starter finds the instant solution: an outing against the Braves. And as for Bourn, anybody else think he’s starting to worry more and more about the contract, twisting himself into a deeper slump?
Don’t look now…..Phillies winning again 8-3
September 11th, 20129:08 pm
Thanks Heath! I truly enjoy that Dan Uggla stat… he’s HOT in September.
Michael Bourn…our ‘defensive specialist’ now that Janish is no longer a reg.
September 11th, 20129:09 pm
Well at least we won’t be no hit.
September 11th, 20129:10 pm
Where would Braves be without Bourn. He carried team 1st half. Just ask Chipper.
September 11th, 20129:11 pm
Brava haha yea. It’s not that bad. They couldn’t charge what they charge if it was crappy. That’s my only issue, everything else is fine.
Can we play the Mets again?
it’s in a different building that I walk to (like 100ft away). Truly outside laundry would be interesting….
Ha, I pictured you dressed like an eskimo, on a snowmobile, pulling a laundry basket behind you. Outside, like the “good old days” yeah that would be a little rough.
It appears to me that every hitter we have tries to knock the ball out of the stadium not just over the fence. We K way too much as well but evidently thats the philosophy because our swings all look the same regardless of the count with 2 exceptions – Prado who is just a good hitter and a good 2 strike hitter who doesn’t mind going the other way and Chipper who is just so good he doesn’t need to change his approach based on the count.
September 11th, 20129:12 pm
Anthony Rizzo involved in a collision at 1B in Houston… hit his head hard… hope he wasn’t concussed (though I’m ‘feared that he was)
September 11th, 20129:16 pm
He is what he is: streaky.
September numbers are based on only 27 official at-bats (3BBs added to that), but again, it’s a start.
I’m picturing Kat loading her laundry onto a dog sled for the trek to the laundry building. It’s a lot more fun than watching this game.
Overbay will fit in just fine with this team.
FIRE FREDI GONZALEZ
September 11th, 20129:17 pm
COSTANZA = WINS
September 11th, 20129:18 pm
This is why the whole, we’re 4th in the NL in runs argument does not work. Braves score 11 runs saturday and then score a combined 9 runs over the next 5 games. 20 runs over 6 games makes it look alot better than it has been, which is simply not the case.
I see you’re similarly occupied, Bat.
September 11th, 20129:19 pm
WAR = Darwin Barney MVP of the league.
2 hits through 5 off of who???
This is getting ridiculous night in and night out against no name pitchers
Bat Masterson @ 9:11 pm LOL
Thank you for coming to hit tonight Simmons
September 11th, 20129:20 pm
Yeah, I suppose that’s not stalking then…
September 11th, 20129:21 pm
Glad I can be of some entertainment to Brava and Bat during this quick boring game. If I showed you how unexciting my 100ft walk is which is probably more like 50ft because I have no sense of length, you’d be sadly disappointed hah.
Real glad Overbay got thatuseless hit last night so he could start tonight. 2 ABs = 2 Ks.
Brewers probably hope Yawnish, Hinski and Rev get an AB and get a groundball hit then all 4 of these guys can start!
Hope the Braves can mount some kind of rally. They need someone to be a fire starter in this lineup. Who will step up and be the one?
September 11th, 20129:22 pm
Ncbravesfan if we don’t get a run here it’s 9 runs in 7 games. That’s brutal. Put in Jorge Costanza and start running.
Worst 20 game over 500 team in history.
Are we still capable of beating the Fish? May have to sweep our last 2 series with them to get into postseason.
September 11th, 20129:23 pm
And while we’re at it, that whole “third-best record in the NL” argument doesn’t work because…uh…
September 11th, 20129:24 pm
Off-the-field question, here — can we talk about Chip Caray for a minute? The guy has a great voice, but it’s endlessly punctuated by a nervous chuckle, even when it’s bad news for the Braves. I wish I could pick up the radio guys, just to avoi-i-i-i-d that ann-n-n-o-ho-ho-ying affectation of his.
It should be Prado at 1st. Freeman looks lost out there. He’s even carrying his struggles into the field this month.
If Georgie were playing we’d be winning
September 11th, 20129:25 pm
Yes, and I like the scene you described.
Braves get shutout in wildcard game if we play SL it will be Carpenter.
Minor in 69 Innings has a 2.34 ERA, .204BAA, 54Ks, and only 13BBs.
That’s a large enough sample size to be confident in his development…at least I think.
Braves have two hits both by Simmons.
Ha, Kat, you’re a good sport. This game IS awfully boring so far.
September 11th, 20129:26 pm
September 11th, 2012
If you’d like to make a call, please hang up and dial again…
Tough night facing a Cy Young caliber pitcher….
September 11th, 20129:28 pm
Freeman 5-32 with a .156 slugging pct. No EBH. 1 RBI. Frediot needs to bench Freeman like he did Uggla. Put Reed and Costantza in there and win games.
I liked yours, too, Bat.
That’s about as funny as funny gets, folks.
You know….a little ‘jab’ for the sake of a laugh is not exactly throwing someone under the bus or changing feelings for and recognition of many great things a player has accomplished. I use a lot of tongue in cheek stuff in my posts….I think most regular posters realize this…however, looking at some subsequent comments [on occasion] gives me the impression that there are a few folks out there ready to bite my finger off when I pick a favorite of theirs to use for a well intended joke.
I love this team and want each and every guy on it….just in case a few ever wondered….I want all of them to succeed and play super. I have no enemies on this board and am not planning on having a problem with anybody–please (those few of you) don’t take my posts as an ‘attack’ on anyone.
Based on the ABs I’ve seen from Over Brated I’d rather have Ski out there at 1B.
So far tonight Overbay has K’d twice and allowed an infield hit because of a sorry stretch.
September 11th, 20129:29 pm
“Tough night facing a Cy Young caliber pitcher….”
I agree that Minor is on his way and the personal wins will come.
He is one building block I would call pretty much untouchable, Other teams will ask and Freddie will not bite. Not this off season.
September 11th, 20129:30 pm
Nice single Mr. Prado
