A day off for FREDDY and yet a another day off for DOB. I saw his post saying how much he is enjoying his vacations. His Angel at AJC is looking out for him.
Oh, I was not saying you were trying to argue with me! I’m just not one to get into lengthy discussions about the roster, so I wanted to end it before it took on a life of it’s own
You anywhere near as nervous as me for the Phils getting hot and getting in as the #2 WC? Doc & Lee pitching combined with the potential offense that they still have…
No. Their biggest problem is they have to go through 4 teams to get ahead, none of whom are in the East. That is not easy to do. But if they do pull it off, so be it. We gotta beat someone, might as well be the Phillies
I’ll take the blame for that first run…the only game time snack I could find was a cranberry muffin. Yeah….a friggin muffin for a game snack. Sorry Braves fans…don’t point the blame at Huddy.
I’m doing laundry tonight – very thrilling – however the Braves tend to do well when I’m not watching the game am in the laundry room. So hopefully they’ll have one of those nights. Another random thought – tonight is a perfect night to star gaze (my laundry facility in my apt complex is in a different building so I walk outside to get to it). Not a cloud in the sky. Gorgeous. Okay I digress back to Huddy
“Hudson got lazy with the streaky Weeks” should be the headline if we lose 1-0. Actually, that score wouldn’t surprise me, so I will let them use that headline if they so choose.
After McCann took his doses of catcher punishment last night, while Braun was fouling off all those pitches, the umpire walked out in front of Brian and threw about 4 new balls in a row back to the mound. Thought that was kinda cool.
Phillies on their way to being 71-71 tonight. They are going to have to go 17-3 or 18-2 to make the playoffs, I’d bet. One of the Cards or Dodgers will get hot and win some games.
Love the story on Jonny Venters showing the class last night. I respect someone who faces issues head on. I only hope he turns it around, has a huge outing for us, then gets a big interview.
If JV is willing to face up to his shortcomings, I have confidence that he will work his butt off in the offseason to right his wrongs
Kevin McAlpin @KevinMcAlpin
21 of the 62 earned runs allowed by Tim Hudson have come in the 1st inning. Opponents now hitting .336 against him in the 1st.
Don’t let him start the first inning, then…Use Kimmeh!
Simmons does have a Frenchy looking swing and motion.
Indeed… he has holes in his swing. Hopefully he gets those fixed soon, or he’ll be an all defense SS. He’s hit up until now, though, so I’m sure he can adjust.
Bourn ain’t exactly showing he would be worth signing for half the farm next year. He’s been pretty pitiful since the all star break. What’s he hitting since then? .240?
I have no confidence in him right now. Movement, velo and command not nearly as good as early last year and the year before. He doesn’t even have the swagger any longer.
Its a shame too because in my opinion he was overused and ruined. There was a time when he was tougher on hitters than Kimmy was but no more – I hate it for him
Overuse before a kid has a chance to get a big money deal is sickening with the stuff he had.

Michael Bourn’s 140 strikeouts needed 157 G in 2009 and 158 G in 2011. This year, his 136 strikeouts have needed only 141 G.
Er, makes that he’ll pass by 20. Yikes! He’s striking at out once a game.
