MFin But I’m not sure playing 40-60 games as a RF hitting lefties is being a MLB player. I suppose it is as much as being a bench bat or a 6th inning relief pitcher.

yeah, i mean were talking 24th or 25th journey man type players.

Francouer and Francisco??? On second thought, let’s hope not.

Those 2 Franc’s would combine for a record number of Ks and a record low number of walks. Yikes.

…whereas I think the recent additions to the conference, including Notre Dame, destroy the character and tradition of the conference. It’s become just another group of schools tied together by money alone.

Frenchy never did the work required to be a great player. He never made the adjustments that he needed to and when he struggled he basically refused to listen to coaches and change. He pouted when he was sent down to work on his swing in a non-pressure situation.

If Frenchy worked half as hard as Heyward did this offseason after Frenchy struggled, he never would have been given away in a trade

the ACC would not and could not survive as the 8 team league it once was. It would be swallowed by another league or have schools picked off one by one. We are headed to super conferences.

Notre Dame is a perfect fit for the ACC in its academic institution and a much needed lift in football. Its ancillary sports fit very nicely in the ACC as well. There will be some dynamic girls soccer games for example. ACC will become the LaCrosse conference adding ND and Syracuse to Duke, UNC, MAryland, and UVA. Basketball becomes much stronger with the addition of Syracuse, Pitt, and ND. Exit fees also increased markedly

Once ND’s contract with NBC is up in football the question becomes do they join the ACC in football and who is the 16th? I still would love for it to be Texas if the Big XII fizzles.

I have been at the games when ND came to UNC and when ND came to Wake Forest – those games could not have been more huge or had a bigger turn out. Now they are likely to come every 5-6 years to each ACC school. That in itself is huge. I don’t think there is any college football team close to what ND brings to the table – some have won more championships, many have been better year in and year out, but having Notre Dame visit your campus to play football is priceless

Constanza has awful home/away splits this year too, and he has more away ABs! Even for his career, this is quite a difference in those splits.

We win when our hitters hit well. We lose when our hitters suck. This is not surprising. And it does not mean that we should give $18 million a year to a leadoff hitter with a 91 OPS+. Some people here say Bourn is the heart and soul of this team. Yet it’s shown that all our Braves struggle in losses. In fact, pitchers struggle in losses.
