I see the Bobby Valentine show is getting one game deeper in the basement now.
At least Philly kept trying after a disappointing season. The Red Sox — a baseball joke for 2012.
Sopheee is wise. This is why we are friends

I can’t even use the excuse that there was no better pick, b/c I picked the Packers D in the 2ND ROUND! I suck!
September 9th, 20129:41 pm
Yeah, I see Bobby V filling out a job application at the end of the season.
September 9th, 20129:43 pm
September 9th, 20129:45 pm
Yeah, picking a Defense in the 2nd round (especially a BAD one) is just bad
September 9th, 20129:48 pm
Apparently Joe Blanton is in full scale melt down mode for the Dodgers:
Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN
Joe Blanton is doing some damage in the visitors’ dugout. Blowup a 4 on the Paul O’Neill Scale of 1 to 10.
September 9th, 20129:50 pm
You’re not showing a whole lot of sympathy…work with me here! )
September 9th, 20129:52 pm
Sorry, dude. I take my football very seriously. And I take my Niners even more seriously than I do the Braves
If the Giants beat the Dodgers tonight, the Braves will have a 7 game lead for a wild card spot. 7 game lead with 21 games to play.
Almost over… we’re much healthier this year.
I learned my lesson about Green Bay’s defense last year. They totally let me down week after week. Went with the Niners D this year.
Steelers D…. almost tempted to go with Falcons, but… Niner’s defense isn’t gonna be as good this year, I think
September 9th, 20129:53 pm
Packers D, 2nd round? Dude… I got Steelers in the 9th… My only regret was not taking Matty Ice. Thankfully some fool already waived him, and I’ll have him for next week.
September 9th, 20129:54 pm
How bout them Redskins!!!!! RGIII Baby!!!!!!!!!!
So far Matt Ryan is the top fantasy QB performer on NFL.com! Is he on your team?
From Falcons Facebook page…
Based on what, pray tell?
September 9th, 20129:55 pm
Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN
We could have a Carlos Zambrano Dugout Blow-up Scale, as well, but a teammate brawl would have to be involved.
September 9th, 20129:56 pm
I decided to start Matt Ryan over Eli Manning in fantasy which worked out awesome. I’ve already won the matchup and still have AJ Green playing tomorrow lol
If only we would fire FG…..
Maybe we could then catch the Nats. Sigh…
Good nite all….good to win again today.
September 9th, 20129:58 pm
Based on what, pray tell?
Just a hunch… no way they repeat their performance from last year. They might be good, but not that good. 11-5, 12-4 season and defense takes a small step back.
September 9th, 20129:59 pm
This is the 2nd time I’ve done fantasy football, the last time being about 5 years ago. I honestly thought I’d be pretty slick picking a D in the 2nd round. You live, you learn.
September 9th, 201210:00 pm
We can agree to disagree than. I anticipate them to be at least as good. And with this big win under their belts, I am encouraged.
September 9th, 201210:01 pm
49ers defense sure looked elite today… They could be the best overall team in football. Alot depends on QB Smith on if he takes the next step and so on.
September 9th, 201210:03 pm
Niners have a much better receiving corp this year, and all 11 starters on D are back. Last year was a shockingly pleasant surprise for me. This year, I have high expectations. And after today…
Here’s my fantasy lineup.
QB Matt Ryan
RB Shady McCoy
RB Jamall Charles
WR AJ Green
WR Steve Smith (CAR)
WR Vincent Jackson
TE Vernon Davis
K Mason Crosby
45 rushing yards today. And a wire to wire win against a team that trailed at home for less than 4 total minutes last year.
September 9th, 201210:06 pm
CAB, yeah the 49ers are playoff bound are will be serious contenders. Definitely a team to be excited about. I’m just happy my Redskins finally have a real QB and were headed in the right direction. I see us winning 8 games which is a good improvement. If RG3 keeps playing at a high level maybe 9 or 10 but I’m realistic, the kid is gonna struggle at some point.
September 9th, 201210:07 pm
Cab: Well, in the auto-pick league I have (my 2nd league), I have the 9′ers D… Guess I do have to root for those guys
September 9th, 201210:08 pm
bad news – the blog is rambling on pointyball talk
September 9th, 201210:09 pm
good news – I’ll get to bed early and not waste time on the blog
VaBraves: I think the Redskins might actually be able to get 10 wins, and possibly sneak in as a WC. He is a good QB, kinda like Matt Ryan in his rookie year, maybe even better. Of course, all the other guys need to keep up their play, but the Redskins are my dark-horse team.
when its sleepy time down south…
gee I was looking for a baseball blog and fell into pointyball hell……
September 9th, 201210:10 pm
RG3 is the kind of guy the NFL needs to build a campaign around. He’s articulate, good looking, talented, and has a killer smile. He’s all that is right with young players today. I like him
I just wish the Skins didn’t get rid of Carlos Rogers… He finally learned how to catch once he left Washington, but he was always a good cover and tackle corner. No he’s a pro bowler haha
September 9th, 201210:11 pm
Auto pick is smart
September 9th, 201210:12 pm
I am very glad they gave up on him. He has been nothing short of a delight and a key player for my Niners
September 9th, 201210:13 pm
He also had his first career sack today.
September 9th, 201210:16 pm
Dang, hard to believe he never had one before… We drafted him in the 1st round 9th overall. Same draft that we traded back into the 1st round to draft Jason Campbell.
I don’t think the Skins gave up on him, at the time he wanted to get paid or wanted out. He ended up only signing a 1 year low salary deal with yall and then played at a high level then got the 4 year deal from yall.
September 9th, 201210:17 pm
Auto pick is smart
LOL, I wish… that’s the league where I’m being beat 2:1 by my opponent. I have “terrible” players. When I chose my own guys, I’ve already beat my opponent, and I still have some guys playing tomorrow!
the Ghost of Chipper Jones
September 9th, 201210:19 pm
Can’t believe those METS a–h—’s didn’t groove one to the CHIPSTER for a last atomic blast hurrah. Everuone in the crowd enjoys fire-works! Heh! Instead he draws a walk on four pitches. Damn! What a bunch of woosies.
He earned his new deal. He was great last year
September 9th, 201210:22 pm
When I played fantasy football, one of the first things I always did was reset the auto pick list to what I wanted it to be
September 9th, 201210:31 pm
I just wish the Skins didn’t get rid of Carroll Rogers
Well, I’m just happy we have her…
September 9th, 201210:32 pm
Never liked ‘LOS ROGERS. Remember a short discourse in the college class I was teaching at the time with a ‘SKINS fan. Had my doubts from the git go. Glad he’s having success elsewhere. That’s great, but I’ll take the cover corners we had today in Naw’ Lens. They threw a blanket over COLSTON, GRAHAM et.al. 24 -52 Pass attempts; 326 Total passing yards; 3rd down efficiency 2-11; 1-2 Red Zone efficiency; Yards per pass 6.3; 2 Int’s. and this is DREW BREES we’re talkin’ here……at home. 8-0 last season, 0-1 this season All Hail to the ghost of Sammy Baugh, RGIII, and the entire team.
September 9th, 201210:36 pm
the Ghost of Chipper Jones-
You can have your corners. I will take mine I love Carlos
September 9th, 201210:39 pm
And BILLY CUNDIFF enjoyed a perfect day on his return to the Superdome. 4-4 FG’s, 3-3 X-tra points; 8-9 touch backs on KO.
September 9th, 201210:40 pm
David Akers. That is all
September 9th, 201210:42 pm
Cundiff was a huge pickup!! No way would Graham Gano make all 4 of those kicks…
September 9th, 201210:43 pm
September 9th, 2012
RG3 is the kind of guy the NFL needs to build a campaign around. He’s articulate, good looking, talented, and has a killer smile. He’s all that is right with young players today. I like him….”
Then you would LOVE my eldest grandson.!
September 9th, 201210:44 pm
ESPN I believe had the Redskins going 2-14 this season…. Which makes no sense considering last season we won 6 games…
September 9th, 201210:45 pm
He may be a bit young for me But I probably would
DAVID AKERS couldn’t even MAKE the REDSKINS. You love expatriates don’t you?
they also predicted the Packers would go 16-0… #Fail
September 9th, 201210:46 pm
As long as they play as well as those guys have for us, yes!
September 9th, 201210:47 pm
ESPN is haunted by the ghost of WELLINGTON MARA
September 9th, 201210:48 pm
In case you folks haven’t noticed, my obsessive nature has taken on a ghostly figure at the moment. Heh!
September 9th, 201210:49 pm
Yeah just seen your FB post lol
Akers with FG of 40, 44, and 63 yards today, and 3-3 on PAT.
September 9th, 201210:51 pm
My Facebook? Are we Facebook friends? I have a hard time keeping real names straight with blog names
September 9th, 201210:52 pm
There’s a kid that we just cut last week that will do well in the NFL I believe, LB MARCUS WHITE. He was picked up, but I can’t remember by whom.
September 9th, 201210:53 pm
We are pretty solid at LB, so we don’t need him
With 21 games left, we would have to have a worse collapse than last year….to not qualify as a Wild Card.
However, with it being a one game playoff between the two Wild Cards…..anything can happen. If we can sweep the Nationals this weekend….things could get interesting. Too bad we pretty much sucked against the Nationals this year.
At least this year’s bunch is showing a little heart. Nice to see us beating the teams we’re supposed to beat….which we couldnt do last September.
September 9th, 201210:54 pm
Yeah we added each other a couple months ago. Ryan Vick
I just won a COLONEL SANDERS look-alike contest. The trophy makes me extremely proud.
September 9th, 201210:55 pm
You should check out the picture of me and my GF’s son rocking Braves hats
September 9th, 201210:56 pm
Ah yes. I was wondering who that was Seriously, don’t be offended. I have a horrible memory for names
September 9th, 201210:57 pm
I will. Your girl is rather gorgeous, by the way
I’m not, I find myself wondering who some of the people on my facebook are too at times. lol I think I have around 15 bloggers on there.
September 9th, 201210:59 pm
September 9th, 201211:02 pm
Haha, yall hear the guy in the back ground screaming “THEY RAN THE PLAY” over and over again lol
September 9th, 201211:05 pm
AKERS turned out to be mighty good. He wasn’t good enough to make the REDSKINS who cut him after his rookie year. Dumb-azzes
After cutting both NEIL RACKERS and GRAHAM GANO this pre-season, the ‘SKINS signed BILLY CUNDIFF. He will be the difference in two games this season i predict.
BTW VaBavesFan did you catch the number of that player that let a N.O. player come free right up the middle and block SAV ROCCA’s punt? It was none other that # 57 BRYAN KEHL, the guy the REDSKINS kept instead of MARCUS WHITE
September 9th, 201211:09 pm
3-0 METS. We have nine more against the METS and FISH. We need to run the table on those two teams. That alone gets us to 90 wins if we don’t win against another team. Nice start to that run.
September 9th, 201211:11 pm
September 9th, 201211:26 pm
Hey, 98.6, it’s good to have you back again…
September 9th, 201211:30 pm
Bye, bye, Big Ben…
September 9th, 201211:31 pm
Happy for Peyton.
September 9th, 201211:38 pm
Referencing, of course, her Ivory Snow box, and not her more lucrative career…
September 9th, 201211:51 pm
Requiem in pace, bloggo…
ESPN Stats & Info @ESPNStatsInfo
FROM ELIAS: Peyton Manning (7,226 passes) needed more than 400 fewer passes than Brett Favre (7,699) to ring up his 400th career pass TD…
Cuz Peyton throws less picks and bad passes than Favre did…
And with that, I bid all a good night. Peace.
September 9th, 201211:56 pm
What a stinker!
The Nationals were so flat Sunday they looked like they’d all been shut down. With the Marlins already ahead 6-0 in the fifth inning and the Nats still without a hit, one fan broke the gorgeous sunny afternoon silence, yelling, “Wake up!”
September 9th, 201211:59 pm
“Ain’t much to say about that one, so . . . ” said Johnson, attempting, unsuccessfully, to negotiate the first eight-word press conference in baseball history.
September 10th, 201212:00 am
Check back next Sunday night, after the Nats finish a six-game road trip with three showdown games in Atlanta, to see how much, if any, of the buzz has been killed.
The Nats should arrive in New York chuckling. Their seven rookies — yes, it’s the annual hazing trip — dressed up as the U.S. women’s gymnastics team.
September 10th, 201212:02 am
Chipper Jones @RealCJ10
Enjoyed my last experience in the NYC. Thx to the Mets org and the fans for rolling out the red carpet. Sweeps r extra sweet in New york!!
