Braves/Falcons WIN !!!!
Sinatra. Good call. Beauty.
September 9th, 20121:28 pm
David, thanks for the Happy Birthday RT on twitter! Now first comment on your blog! Man, today is MY DAY!
September 9th, 20121:29 pm
Thank you, DOB. Great stuff (as usual).
September 9th, 20121:30 pm
Thanks for the early Sunday blog chief!
Prado and Freeman need to vary their hitting approach on 1st pitches. Prado never swings at the 1st pitch and everyone knows it so the oposing pitchers have an automatic strike one so he is always behind in the count and Freeman always swings at the 1st pitch so they throw him something he can’t hit and he is either behind in the count or he makes an out. Granted they are both pretty good strike 2 hitters but it seems to me it would be better to change it up now and then.
McFann :Ô: :Ô: :ô:
September 9th, 20121:32 pm
Aw, let’s not start this again…
thank you David
come on Braves, I thought we were getting past this?
September 9th, 20121:34 pm
Georgie getting the respect he deserves, slugger that he is.
September 9th, 20121:35 pm
oh yeah, cause Prado is having such a poor year with the bat….
September 9th, 20121:38 pm
0-for-5 RISP 1st two innings. Becoming the early innings norm.
September 9th, 20121:39 pm
in a one game series against cards……will the braves go with medlen? or will they go with tim?
I would go with medlen ……. numbers dont lie.
you could still use chris once in th second round
September 9th, 20121:40 pm
Strategy talk but I wouldn’t have walked Georgie in the 2nd inning. Pitched around him and see if he chases some bad balls which he is apt to do. Then you get Tommy and the automatic out to start the 3rd. Just me.
Although I realize Georgie does strike fear into the opposition!
September 9th, 20121:42 pm
I really think Joe reads this stuff and gets material. Has happened alot in the past that we talk about stuff oin here and the tv guys use it. We were talking about the Doo Dah song last night
September 9th, 20121:44 pm
Chris? This hurts my heart
tim has more experience…..but you go with your hot hand.
medlen has shown mental toughness.
tim is 8-2 in the last 64 calendar days
September 9th, 20121:45 pm
Maholm is hot also………..great ERA last 2 months besides his last start (phillies)
September 9th, 20121:47 pm
hope u get over it
Grrr…here we go again with the Mets guys going on and on (and on and on and on…) about the Nats shutting Strasburg down.
Medlin no doubt.
Yesterday he wasn’t as sharp but if he keeps up like he has been then I’d put him on the bump for sure in any must win game
September 9th, 20121:48 pm
Maholm I meant as option in 2nd if we get that far
September 9th, 20121:49 pm
Swipe one here Jhey
September 9th, 20121:50 pm
Grrr…here we go again
September 9th, 20121:51 pm
looks like they got all tired out yesterday having to run around the bases so much more than they are used to…..
September 9th, 20121:54 pm
Not sync’d with the TV. Not even close
September 9th, 20121:56 pm
Pretty good start for Hanson. He seems to be more aggressive, going after hitters.
September 9th, 20121:58 pm
He has thrown a few change ups too. Can’t do anyhting but help
John in Wichita
September 9th, 20122:02 pm
Thanks David. Two trips I’m guaranteed to make… ATL when the Braves retire #10 and 5 years from now when he gets invited to Cooperstown.
September 9th, 20122:05 pm
Love it! I would love it, DOB, if you could work on a Chipper retrospective to release once the season ends. Kind of a scrapbook of sorts. I don’t know if the AJC bosses will allow it to be one of those Sunday paper all-color inserts or not. But, I’d love to have something tangible that I could keep and hold on to…perhaps even give it to my nephews when they’re older. I don’t know who in the world will end up their favorite Brave after Chipper. They have never known a Braves’ team without him. Thanks for all the color in life you brought to our Braves, Chipper. We will miss you.
September 9th, 20122:07 pm
2-Run homer? Or later?
September 9th, 20122:08 pm
P.S. John in Wichita – I’m with you on that one. Most certainly, the Braves will retire #10 next season and bring Chipper back. I’ve never been to Cooperstown, and will do my best to make it as soon as Doggie, Smoltzie and/or Glav make it in….or at least by the time Chipper makes it in.
Very little defense being displayed by either side in the Falcon’s/Chiefs game.
September 9th, 20122:10 pm
Nice try Uggla.
September 9th, 20122:14 pm
Yes, darn good effort by Uggla.
September 9th, 20122:16 pm
Constanza triples to RF to lead off 5th, but ball touched a fan reaching over fence. He’ll go back for ground-rule double.
Lead off double curse?
would be nice to break through here
Need I say more!
September 9th, 20122:18 pm
Atta boy Bournie
there we go
@Tami… nothing like a trip to Cooperstown for an induction. I got to see George Brett, Nolan Ryan and Robin Yount go in, and will do everything possible to see the Braves of the 90’s enter, too.
Nice job, Biff and Michael!
September 9th, 20122:19 pm
Speed guys get it done!!
Now steal 2nd again Bourny
There is no excuse for Hanson’s poor bunting ability after all this time. None.
Even if you hate the Giants, the only way this does not make you smile is if you have no heart…
FIRE FREDI GONZALEZ
Great work, Mikey and Georgie.
September 9th, 20122:21 pm
lazy selfish pop fly hitting Prado. He sucks! Cut him! He should be booed!
(Did I cover everything?)
September 9th, 20122:22 pm
Yep that was good
September 9th, 2012
Propaganda! JK. Did he get a hit?
September 9th, 20122:25 pm
Alright Arnold”I’m back” Uggla
Need you here!!
September 9th, 20122:26 pm
No idea. The link was tweeted by MLB and I thought it was adorable. Had to share
The above main blog is DOB’s best work of the season. PATS 21-3 leading TENN at half.
Especially since he clearly had NO IDEA
September 9th, 20122:28 pm
Are we winning?
September 9th, 20122:30 pm
We are tied TOMMY must be doing ok.
We’re tied at one, George.
September 9th, 20122:31 pm
Larry is the Man!
September 9th, 20122:33 pm
“I AM BACK” ARNOLD UGGLA.
5th inning? You know what that means with Tommy????
September 9th, 20122:35 pm
Every time that hot dog vendor does the barking thing, my little Frodo lifts his ears and looks around. Cute.
Great video about Pagan, thanks.
September 9th, 20122:36 pm
It was nice to see CHIPPER play captain with lineup card at start of game
September 9th, 20122:37 pm
Caught a break
Nice play by Freddie.
September 9th, 20122:38 pm
Ok, outta here to walk with Peanut then watch rest of games.
nice play, that inning wasn’t setting up nicely for Tommy so that worked perfectly
September 9th, 20122:39 pm
Tommy is actually being more efficient than usual.
September 9th, 20122:40 pm
BMAC with da BOMB!!!!
ok that park is big, can’t believe Mac needed all of that one just to clear the fence
Mac is Back…
McFann can be happy!
Mac attack….Wish he would do that with some runners on,oh well!
September 9th, 20122:41 pm
Fredi needs a quick hook with Hanson. His numbers are terrible after 5.
September 9th, 20122:44 pm
For those that want to give Flabby the job at 3B next year based on the occasional bomb, hope you like seeing alot of what he has done today. He would K 200 times I’m afraid if he played everyday!
Yikes. Young is all over the place. Sure wish we could take advantage of it.
Second homer in as many days for McCann, after he’d gone 24 games without an extra-base hit.
September 9th, 20122:45 pm
Someone needs to be close to loose now!
September 9th, 20122:46 pm
That picture of Pagan, would look good next year with a big ole A on that hat.
FFG, yes, but normally he has used up all of his 100 pitches by the fifth. He has been much more economical with his pitches this game that he has been in the vast majority of his games.
Mark, I agree and would not like to see him at 3d next season. I’D like to see Martin there.
September 9th, 20122:49 pm
don’t walk em Tommy, make them put it in play
Agree on Teeen at 3B but only if Uggs keeps it going pretty good! I think Uggs does better when he’s a little pissed and looking over his shoulder. Wish they had benched his tail earlier.
Francisco is okay for spot starts but he is an automatic out vs. lefties and strikes out way too often.
September 9th, 20122:50 pm
Relax all. Cisco will not be the everyday 3B. Prado will be there and we will get an OF in Free Agency.
Murphy owns Hanson.
September 9th, 20122:51 pm
Due to digital bs beyond my control, please let me add a belated B McBomb
September 9th, 20122:52 pm
I agree but I have to throw it out there to remind those few that think he deserves it after loosing a little weight and hustling a little more after “the meeting.” Because he will hit a mammouth HR at some point but there will be a whole lot of Ks between them.
F the pitch counts. We got 10 guys in the bullpen that are dealing and can finish this game.
September 9th, 20122:53 pm
I sure hope Francisco isnt next seasons stater, the dude has zero plate discipline.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
