Well, we did get the run & that is good, but Dan did make a baserunning mistake & we got lucky on a bad throw by Shoppach.
But I will take a break like that any day. This is 2 days in a row we got a break.

We really need to get Bourn going.
Mike wants it too, this slump is going to cost him some $$$$$$$$ this winter. Say he finshes at .270, or even in the .260’s who is going to pay $16 mil a yr to a sub .270 hitter without power.
His power numbers are not bad this yr but do not count on him to hit 9 HRS again.
Hey, maybe we have a chance to retain him. If he winds up at something like .267, who knows.

Dont kid yourself kelevra. The braves will bif until the number surpasses 12M. Hes the leadoff hitter we havent had since Furcal and the center fielder we havent had since Andruw. Not to mention we have no CF prospects of our own, and the free agent pool wont be outstanding. We will stay in it as long as he can, even if his avg drops to .270

Okay, just got to my laptop, saw that Uggla was back in the lineup. Asked it before, ask it again, what happened to “he’s on the bench and might get some spot starts”? Looks like three in a row, which is not my definition of “spot starts”. Has Freddi changed his mind?

Regarding your ? earlier on the Astro’s…. Got Jeff Luhnow as GM last year after a long career with the Cardinals… Absolute broom-sweep this year after Crane bought the team… I mean Manager to everyone but the towel boy….. As this is a football-soccer town, seems like the transplants are doing the WTF’s… My thought is that Luhnow will go to the AL next year and “try” to emulate the A’s strategy but not sure he is Billy…. Heck of a job with the Cards for years though..,,jettisoned Bourne, Pence, Wandy, et.al. and even got someone to take Carlos Lee’s contract… Absolutely nobody there….set attendance lows twice last week……..Radio guy today wondered if Savannah St. had a Baseball team and would they be favored over the Stro’s in a 3 game series… will play .200 ball next year…..fodder for the AL West At least with the companies tickets, I’ll see a lot of new AL teams next year….surprisingly, not many Rangers fans here…. Nats down by 1…dang…………….Texas viewpoint…Braves still a LF bat clean-up hitter away from doing any playoff damage…..

OR, it could be that the benching was bad timing, since he had hit safely in 5 of 6 before-hand, and in the three games hes started, two have been the result of Prado playing elsewhere due to giving someone a day off, and one was due to us facing a lefty. Anything else?

yeah remember reading that….braves could have gotten heyward freeman and stanton all in the same draft had they just pulled the trigger on stanton. they had four picks in the first two rounds…two were used on hewyard and freeman…two on guys you’ve never heard of….that would have been something special

I was all over Uggla’s case last week, he was pulling off everything and overswinging worse than usual. It almost looks as he has cut down on his swing some, and going with pitches. I think even before the 2 game benching he was coming around.
McCann however, needs to stay where he is right now…. on the bench.
