Minor hitting 89 about as often as Tommy does……
My fault, nolie. I’ll try to be more specific in the future.
i agree njbrave
Uggla actually hit the ball very hard his first AB.
Braves right now are 2-for-23 with RISP in series

Are the DOBBERs like the DOOZERs … http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070205161431/muppet/images/a/a3/Doozer.variety.jpg
vitriol spewer (phil)
Can we switch to softball?
September 5th, 20128:30 pm
my last comment was re: ACE @ 8:23.. forgot to add who I was replying to..
September 5th, 20128:32 pm
Look at Mike!
Better score a few though….
September 5th, 20128:33 pm
At least their ace is out of the game now.
the DOBBERS are prolly those who actually appreciate David and Carroll, which ACE seems to go out of his way to indicate that he does not at times
Can those DOOZERS hit, Kat?
2-23….just bad luck.
Back to just lowercase phil. Good
September 5th, 20128:34 pm
Minor has allowed 2 walks through 5 scoreless innings. And only 2 walks.
But just so you know, he’s also thrown 80 pitches.
Could care less about bates and Bowdon
minor pitching like he’s in a morgue!
September 5th, 20128:35 pm
September 5th, 20128:36 pm
Yeah….tired of spewing.
hey phil came back
…and there was much rejoicing
Ace serves a purpose. His ragging on O’Brien gets David to elaborate on his job, or travel days, here on the blog and I enjoy reading it.
phil, welcome back. I like you better without the baggage.
September 5th, 20128:38 pm
damn, that looked like McCann behind the plate the way it got away.
I’ll just be phil till i have to change to suit DOB’s overlords…..
Chipper's Southern Bell
Those Rockies coaches look like a bunch of drunks. I mean like street corner types
September 5th, 20128:40 pm
that was a ball Marteen
September 5th, 20128:41 pm
Well I hope you come up with something more fitting than spewing.
September 5th, 20128:42 pm
Lol at jerry…..semi-true
September 5th, 20128:43 pm
should be loaded
September 5th, 20128:44 pm
Not sure about the violent tendency of a Doozer but I do enjoy the one with the mustache… lightening the mood..
Darwin Barney breaks up Gio’s no hit bid on a single to lead off the sixth.
September 5th, 20128:45 pm
Bat – i chose it because DOB used me as an example of a vitriol spewer and i didn’t appreciate it.
Guess that was the fans fault.
gotta admit, this runners in scoring position thing is literally starting to get laughable
the Ghost of Chipper Jones
Come on old man, show me what you got. Put this team on your back and let’s get a key hit.
showed that ol’ DOB huh?
that DP hurts.
Chipper not exactly hustling down the line there
September 5th, 20128:46 pm
We should probably accept that we aren’t scoring another run tonight.
I cannot believe how often the Rockies pitchers are putting their hands in the fire without getting burned! Both tonight and last night.
David, you have to agree that despite posting the woeful BA with RISP, truth remains that many of those outs have been very hard hit. I saw the replay of the smash Heyward hit down first base line and that was sheer blind luck it wasn’t a double to the wall, and it might have yeilded two RBI’s.
That’s twice we’ve been robbed. Three if you count Uggla’s liner, but nobody was on base.
September 5th, 20128:47 pm
Oh, Kat, I meant if they could swing a bat, maybe we could replace the Braves with them, except Chipper, of course.
September 5th, 20128:48 pm
Nice CHIPPER. What say you fans…..fans….dang, no noise, only groans.
Brava hahaha. My bad.
The Atlanta DOOZERS.
What a great wild card race we have this year. Atlanta is 5-5 in it’s last 10, and the Pirates, Cards, and Dodgers are all 4-6. Nobody wants it. Any two of these four teams decides to put together a reasonable winning streak will run away with it.
September 5th, 20128:49 pm
Yeah, I got that, Phil.
September 5th, 2012
showed that ol’ DOB huh?
nope. Wasn’t tryin too.
September 5th, 20128:50 pm
OK, folks, let’s not miss something here! Six complete and something special is still there!
Good work Minor… keep it up. Looks my prediction of 7 strong innings from Minor might come true
I’m glad Chip didn’t mention it.
Can he get nine outs, no hits? I think maybe he can.
September 5th, 20128:51 pm
COL don’t have a hit through the first six innings.
I will have a list of the top ten DOB storys after the season ends. The Subway story is sure to make the list.
Got through that inning in 8 pitches….
I decided to change my blog-handle for awhile in honor of CHIPPER’s eminant retirement. I’ll go back to my former handle in the off-season sometime….maybe.
With a runner on 2nd with less than two outs the worst thing to happen to the Braves is to get a walk. Then the usual DP happens. Thanks Chipper, but we knew it was coming. What an awful offensive team.
September 5th, 20128:52 pm
stizz, NO HITTER! Mike Minor going in the 7th with NO hits allowed!
So Minor has a no hitter, the Braves need at least two runs!
bats once again on fire. How many innings since we scored an earned run??
How come the Nats aren’t tired and worn like the Braves? They play the same amount of games? The Braves look tired. Who can save and inspire this team. And should McCann and Uggla be batting back to back?
He might do it but he probably won’t….we’ll see.
Besides, the NFL is on now so who cares.
September 5th, 20128:53 pm
I have never said I didn’t appreciate DOB or Carroll.
Get a lead and we’re yet to drive in a run with RISP? I’ll take it, I guess.
Let’s go Freddie
September 5th, 20128:54 pm
Wow. I can’t believe how many people just mentioned what you NEVER mention. Unbelievable.
the crowd tonight is sorry. If the season ticket holders with the prime seats are going to skip the game, give the tickets to someone who will use them (especially to someone who might not get to go to a game otherwise)
it looks like a minor league crowd on a weeknight not an MLB crowd
Our guys, to the most part, are poorly conditioned for the long haul….
September 5th, 20128:55 pm
agree T-Dawg – Minor is toast after those comments
Wow! Can you beleive this?
As expected McFat. Didnt even wait till the 2nd pitch. You loser you need to go back to the bench. Oh and take Uggla with you.
I can think of two guys who need to return to the bench….and stay.
September 5th, 20128:56 pm
I think Uggla has checked out mentally.
No McCann AND Uggly.
They’re killing the team.
Wow, they are really not putting up a fight….it’s almost sad watching these 2 right now.
We need em though, that’s what is sadder…
September 5th, 20128:57 pm
I mention it because it’s moronic not too…..
Wow what a great offensive inning with the 2 big heros McCann and Uggla. Have they no pride in themselves at all?
Continue the no-hitter Mike!
After this team flops this year, hire Tony Larusa to get this club together!
“I think Uggla has checked out mentally”
he’s just mad he got benched while he was hitting so well
September 5th, 20128:58 pm
there u go no hit gone
I jinxed Minor.
Nice litle run you had, Mike…. keep it at a 1-hitter now.
Of course as soon as the blog mentions it…
No hitter gone. Of course we will lose now since these no hitting Braves cannot score.
Semper Fi Braves Fan
McCant is out doing himself tonight… 2 outs every at bat. Get well soon Ross!!
see y’all mentioned the no hitter and now look …
September 5th, 20128:59 pm
Good catch Uggla you POS
no hit no lead lol the braves are a joke of a team. they have no heart, and they are soft as tissue
Rome Braves leading 5-0 in bottom of the 7th in their first playoff game since 2006. Andrelton playing ss.
Mac with the, um, not so good throw after the utter failure by minor to hold the runner….sigh.
September 5th, 20129:00 pm
Wild strategy here but it just might work. Forfeit the next three days….send the team to Guantonimo Bay for a visitor’s tour.
September 5th, 20129:01 pm
McCann and Uggla still crushing the ball.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
