YES! Braves win 8) Kimmeh with a 4-out safe (that’s so wrong). Minor gets the win.

And best of all, we win without having to drive in a run…. Sweet.

So, horrible attendance two nights in a row and the people who were there came a bit close to seeing something few see in person in a lifetime of being a baseball fan!

Hard to win scoring only one run. Impossible to win scoring zero runs! A two-hit shutout and the Braves win 1-0! Minor got one unearned run in support and gave up nothing!

Been an avid baseball fan for over 30 years and I’ve only witnessed no-hitters watching games on TV — two of them Braves games that I watched from the start. Both were Merker’s efforts, the first a combined no-hitter.

Come on, people! Support the team, especially if you live in the Atlanta area.

Mac should get some love for the win too…. he hit the ball that got thrown away. He was blazing up the line and caused the defender to rush the throw. ;) Actually, that play goes to Fredi for going in fast and hard at 2B.

Mac did make some really important blocks late though.

Can’t wait until tomorrow’s get-away game. I bet that both McCann and Uggla are laying again. Fredi thinks that two games were enough to show he has balls. Way to go Fredi, you really showed everyone what a tough ass you are.

Who’s in charge of waking up the sprinkling of fans who probably got their tix from an office buddy or neighbor? The Braves unlike bars who have drivers for drunks have drivers who have fallen asleep watching whatever you want to call what they just watched. God they are boring once September hits. Shouldn’t use the word hits in a Braves sleepathon.

It’s called choking by the offense. The last two weeks they can’t even hit average pitching they are so tight. Man, what will they be like if they actually make the playoffs? Totally frozen at the plate? Won’t even be able to get the bat off their shoulders and then pee pee in their pants?

phil — have this discussion with SOMEONE every year. You’re right — Atlanta ain’t LA — only 4.17 million people and they can’t draw 20,000 in a pennant race. OK.

Our mighty Braves just mustered 1 unearned run vs the NL’s worst pitching staff and went 0-11 w/RISP. Gonzalez gave up a guaranteed run in the 8th when he had Bourn swing away (another K) vs bunt /Constanza at 3rd and one out. Looks like they have entered their Sept. swoon a little early this year . Even a 2nd wild card spot might not be enough to get these enemic hitters to the postseason. Only the Braves go into a team wide slump at the most crucial time of the year. Unless they start hitting soon, they will forever be regarded at master choke artists.

I don’t blame anyone for not going to games. When I lived in Atlanta, went to maybe 5 a year, just to get a taste. Other than that, it’s too much effort and cash to watch a baseball game. Sorry, it just is. And not that I was broke; but frankly I could find much better ways to blow $200. Add to that the transportation/parking… it amazes me that 3 million go thru the turnstyles every year. More power to ‘em.

This attendance is so much of a pattern that maybe the brilliant ticket office should make weekday games in September half price and food and parking the same to fill the joint.

If this was an athletic, exciting and productive team–the atmosphere would obviously reflect favorably and, even in Atlanta…..I say we draw a solid 30k. The way it is as far a offensive prowess and wild card implications of current games….IMO, there seems to be a take it or leave it mindset towards the Atlanta Braves of 2012.

“…..Craig Kimbrel struck out Jordan Pacheco with two runners in scoring position to end the eighth inning and then struck out three of four batters in the ninth for his first career save of more than one inning. It was his first appearance longer than three outs since April 2011…..” DOB’s latest article

That wouldn’t have been necessary if the offense was doing it’s job. The pressure the hitters are puting on the pitching staff has got to end. They won’t be able to hold up under it.
