Wrong decisions happen all the time in baseball, and life in general.

I remember one I made as a life underwriter for a life insurance company as a young man. Heh!

We have first and third one out srikeout doubleplay and then they have same thing and get a strikeout and get a fricken run. Why when the other team hits and runs they get a hit? Braves either foul it off or swing and miss. Glad to see them score off the ugly Moylan who I dont think is worth crap. We have the best bench in baseball. Still cant see this team winning a wildcard. Glad to Uggla on the bench now we have to get rid of worthless Fredi. Oh by the way Nats playing a bunch of losers in the Cubs that 4 easy wins for them. Wish we were playing them oh wait we couldnt beat Cubs there best pitcher Maholm as to tough on us.

A team doesn’t even need to bring up left handed minor league pitchers. Just put in a lefthanded position player to pitch and our guys will seize up. Mental Midgets. This has been going on a LONG time. Anyone remember the extra inning game that a team ran out of pitchers and brought in a position player who then proceeded to get the win when the Braves couldn’t hit him?

Durbin and this team sucks right now. They have given up tonight. Really though, this game was within reach in the 7th inning, yet Fredi was content to bring in his weaker relief pitchers and watch what has happened. Bringing in bad relief pitchers into a high-leverage situation is poor strategy. It is September and O’Flaherty and Kimbrel have had plenty of rest, it is time for them to pitch in high-leverage situations even if the Braves are losing.

Braves are being shut out by the last ranked team in pitching in the NL. CO only has 5 shutouts all season. Team ERA is 5.22 . They have given up more HRs than any other NL team, 166 and had 735 runs scored on them. Just does not get any worse than that. They don’t stay inspired for long do they? I know everyone says it starts with the guy on the mound, but when you demonstrate such consistent ineptitude at bringing home runners, it’s going to affect everything. I think that’s what we’re seeing tonight. Hanson threw a pretty good game, and as usual the offense gave him nothing.

Jerry Sandusky

Medlen pitching like Cy Young (literally) has almost saved the season. Not only is he pitching well…he’s pitching deep into ball games (a couple of complete games)..saving the bullpen. No way the Braves counted on or anticipated this. If they did, they wouldnt have waited for 60% of the season to pass…before inserting him into the starting rotation.

Kind of reminds me how Troy Glaus came from nowhere to carry the Braves during the month of May and June in 2010. Those two months basically made our season (we almost choked away the Wild Card spot to the Padres….after choking away an 8 1/2 game division lead to the Phillies).

The Braves are, at best, an average team. We’ve just been lucky when it comes to a couple of superman performances in stretches during the past several years. Being lucky isnt the same as being great. The hillbilly who won The $337 million Powerball in Michigan last week can attest to that.

Hanson needs required viewing of Medlin games. Tired of watching him max out at 6 innings. I admit he pitched better tonight but still can’t go late into games. As for Braves not scoring for him – that’s not so. He has a high era but impressive won-loss record because the Braves have often bailed him out hitting wise. Ain’t bailing anyone out anymore though.
