Is there ever gonna be a night on the blog when people don’t have to argue? Good Gawd a mighty, we win and people argue, and the we lose and people argue. Bullshyt at it’s best.
I went back and read the comments. The dissention is between you and nolie. I thought it some scatter-brain on here that’s game amped beyond reason. My apologies to nolie who like us older guys is on occasion contentious, but with whom I generally accord.
In this instance, I would not be surprised if in fact MEDS was used just as the front-office and field management claimed. Then again it could have been a bald-faced lie. Fact is MEDS didn’t start early, and he is now, so…..let’s win some ball-games and see how this all shakes out.
The Braves won’t need to shut Meds down. I figure he has 5 more regular season starts, and even if he goes 9 innings in all 5 (highly unlikely under any circumstances), he will be at 149 innings for the year- below the 170 (loose) cap for the season (which I doubt would come in to play in the play offs anyways). Had he started from the beginning, I think he would 1) not be pitching this well and 2) probably not be starting due to being worn out.
I’m sorry, but I enjoy debate. I realize I go too far at times, but really the only time I learn anything here is when people are on opposing sides. If it’s all go Braves, or all Fire Everybody, this place is pointless, at least for me. Now I realize this irritates you, and many, but if I have to read (or scroll) some of you, it only seems right that you grant me the same.
Any opinion, or a comment about their favorite poster player that they disagree with, they have to show their disagreement with their claws out scratching at their keyboard with insults rather than trying to explain their position respectfully so we can understand where they are coming from. Its easy to make a list of those however so when their name pops up it shouldn’t be surprising.
Freeman and Prado squared a couple balls up pretty well but with nothing to show for their efforts. Prado has some of the worst luck of any player on the Braves team.
Right, rich. It’s not like Wren hasn’t lied before, so I’m not buying this story that popped up two weeks ago when Meds began to receive national attention. It’s not like I’m the only one here who thinks this way. Good grief. It’s my opinion of the matter, right or wrong, there’s no proof either way.
What would be great would be facing the Nats in the playoffs and having Meds start without them being able to counter with strasburg. If they really shut him down.
“…..Is true that the Medlen situation is working well now. Just wonder how many more wins Medlen and the team might have if he was inthe lineup sooner…..”
I really don’t want to weigh in on this dumb argument, but on my way home from work I was listening to the Fredi Gonzalez report on 680 TheFan and Fred said that he discussed the Medlen situation with Roger McDowell early in the spring and that they decided to pitch him out of the bullpen early to bring him along slowly. McDowell told Fredi that once Medlen is given a chance to start, he would have trouble removing him from the rotation. Did Fredi tell the truth? I don’t know. Maybe you just have to go on face value. Do I give a red rosy shyt? Of course not. I have better things to concern myself with.
@Captain, I am not sure that Meds was even being thought of as a starter when the season started. If Beachy and JJ haven’t gone down would he have been moved out of the pen?
Braves hitters have to be able to score off a guy with a 1-8 record with a 5+ ERA, if they capitalize on their chances in the first few innings, that home run right there means nothing.
Come outta’ thar, outta’ them thar weeds and be recognized son. That one was for you. I’m surprised it isn’t already 5-0 ROX, but lt’s a might early yet. Let’s wait a bit out here in front of the weeds……umm, yeah! Rockin’ man.
Hanson’s location isn’t great – but…only two baserunners so far. Unfortunately, one of them scored.
Better outing for him I think. Still – gotta locate the FB – 24 balls & 37 strikes. Going to be a short outing.
Yes, he lied about Pastornicky being ready to start and he lied about Heyward having to compete for his position in ST. Guess I pay attention to these things more than some of you.
Normally I would doom and gloom this game because of the chances that we’ve let go so far. But for some reason I can’t get behind the Rockies keeping us off the board. Doesn’t mean it won’t happen, but I really don’t see it happening.
Hanson actually looks pretty good tonight thus far. Gonzalez hit a pretty good pitch on the outer portion of the plate for a bomb, but Hanson has his breaking stuff working for the most part.
