Uggla doesn’t seem like the type of player that will get it going with less playing time and turn it around. I can understand benching him now, but seriously he will be our starting 2nd baseman in 2013.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t remember any of this limit crap ever being mentioned until the Nats did it with Stras. Don’t know of a pitcher off the top of my head that came back from TJ that rteinjured himself and it was blamed on too many innings??
For those that think the Braves are going to consider that with Meds I would say they wont for a few reasons.
One, the Nats conjured up this theory with no proof to back it.
Two, Meds may not have been blessed with Stras ability / natural talent but one thing he has a boat load of more than Stras is guts and competitiveness. He wont come out of a game if he gets a little hot or the dirt gets muddy.
Three, I’m willing to bet that if it were to come up Meds would squash that possibility right from the start and demand to be able to pitch for and compete with his team mates.

and Ton Verducci has demonstrated for years whay happens to many many pitchers who go over a certain limit
It is pretty much established and it likely is not gonna go away, though different teams will obviously place more or less emphasis on it

Thats how stolen bases make an impact. Everyone forgets to add in times like these, or when a runner steals a base and is stranded anyways. Stolen bases don’t make a huge impact over a season.

Brava and others – Who cares what the plan was in April? Teams have to change plans constantly based on injuries and other reasons. Also, why is it mandantory for the FO to reveal those plans, no matter what they are? Lose lips sink ships. Much ado about nothing, IMO.

I don’t have a problem with Bourn attempting to steal third, but if you do try, you have to come closer than he did. He was out by plenty. And the announcers aid he didn’t even have a good jump. Just dumb is what it was.

I don’t care, raleigh. My problem is with the Braves perpetuating a lie to cover for their indecisiveness and incompetence in the handling of Medlen. Hindsight is 20/20, but it probably cost us a few wins.

WAY TO GO KRIS MEDLEN! Amazing guy, winning pitcher of the MONTH. Keep your 17 wins in the last 17 starts streak going strong! This guy is something else…almost like a guaranteed win each time he starts, I can’t recall ever seeing something like this in the past 25 years. He should’ve been starting at the beginning of the season then we’d be at least tied with the Nats or even winning the division at this point.
Seems like sometimes Fredi does things just to sink our ship on purpose. Ty Cobb much Fredi? Like tonight- starting Heyward 6th in the order….that is just a BONEHEADED move. J-Hey has been our best EVERYDAY player all season. Reward him by throwing him in the cellar huh Fredi? Fredi makes this team look more like a circus everyday pulling this kinda junk.
This guy gotta go, I wasn’t ever really convinced he’s the man for the job but over the past 2 years he’s proved me right. Maybe if more of the fan base spoke up we could rid ourselves of this tumor named Fat Fredi. Help me out guys. He benches our best guys when they’re hot, hasn’t let Medlen start a game until we absolutely had to, shuffles up the batting order all the time as if it were his personal iPod, let Dan Uggla play all year without earning his spot, and just makes bad decisions constantly.
What is it going to take to get this guy replaced??? He already paved the way for last year’s catastrophic September by running the entire bullpen into the ground all year long. I believe he should take most if not ALL of the blame for last year the way he managed our pitching. Let Fredi walk, he might just lose some weight on his way out of Atlanta.

Yes. They wanted to start him, then they weren’t sure when other pitchers started to improve (Jurrjens and Minor). Very indecisive. But understandably so.

Can’t wait for Simmons to get back here soon, hope he didn’t lose much strength in that hand…I know when my hand was in a cast for 6 weeks because I had a clean break on the same bone Andrelton fractured I lost a good bit of strength in that hand. It took a good few months to get it back, so I’m hoping he can hit decent when he returns or we just might have 2 Paul Janish type players on the team lol
I hope not, I really like Simmons he’s a defensive wizard and reminds me of Ozzie Smith! ATL never had a guy THAT good, hoping he pans out and we’re ok at SS for a good long time. Exciting guy to watch play, thats for sure.

Simmons will hit pretty well and much better than Yawnish for sure because he has more pop and makes contact.
On that note, and a couple disagreed with me on here, but it is my opinion that Yawnish wont be with the big club next year because bench players have to be able to pinch hit which if he has to do that we are in trouble
