I’m sure people will think that having given up only 2 runs, it was a quality start for Hanson. But when you can go more than 5-6 innings, it’s not in my book. The team plays horribly behind Hanson and yet we keep running him out there. As I said, it would take a miracle to win tonight and alas, the team seems to be running out of them. The diff b/t Braves and Nats – we lose to scrub teams and the Nats pummel them. WC may be too ambitious a goal for this team.
DOB, Thanks for the honest response and thoughts earlier today on Medlin and his innings count….good thoughts. And for sharing the story Carroll had posted earlier.
Right now, we are staying on top of the Wild Card race…because Kris Medlen has been pretty much a guarantee to win every time out. Knowing that, the Braves only have to go win 3 out of the other 8 games in a ten game stretch….to play .500 ball overall (meaning that Medlen wins his two starts).
However, if Medlen comes back down to earth…..disaster looms…because it does not look like anyone else in the rotation is ready to step up and take the slack. Hudson has been inconsistent, Minor is very hittable, Maholm is a .500 pitcher at best, Hanson…well, we saw tonight what he’s about.
If Medlen was winning only 80% of the time the past 2 months….we’d be behind the Dodgers and the Cardinals in the Wild Card race. It’s taken Medlen pitching lights out to keep us ahead in the standings.
Is it realistic to expect Medlen to never lose again? Or is it realistic to believe that someone in our rotation is going to step up and pitch like a stud the past 4 weeks of the season?
It is tiring seeing the old “tipping the hat to the other team” mantra that is being drank up like Jim Jones kool-aid. 3 errors tonight, no clutch hitting, making the bullpen look like Firemen of the Year candidates……who cant win when playing against a team like the Braves put on the field tonight? Hell, I think I could pitch a few scoreless innings against this bunch.
Greinke through 6 scoreless, allowing just 3 hits. 4 Ks vs 1 Walk. 84 pitches, 52 strikes. Nice ratio. Would love to see this guy with a Tomahawk across his chest.

With 26 games left in the season, if we go 13-13 the rest of the way, we’ll finish the season with the same 89 wins that we ended last season with.

The reason you are a lightning rod on the blog is because you attack people on here and attempt to make them look stupid while boosting your own persona. There are several of you blogger-haters here that really stir up people.
My comment was about Chippers blog yet you lashed out at me. You’re classy man. Very classy.
Nothing very exciting on TV tonight. Come back to find out that Brava thinks I’m an idiot.
And I guess her claim that she doesn’t attack personally has just gone out the window. Not that I really care.
Oh, please don’t act so innocent, you pathetic coward. You picked at me all evening and I never once addressed you, not once. You called me “dumbsh*t” the other day, and again, I didn’t respond. Or have you forgotten that? You are a blog bully, Wayne in Utah, DS1, Astral, HooRah or whatever you call yourself. You and VJ both are blog bullies, the only difference between you two is he’s intelligent, while you are just a mean buffoon.
Good to know. nolie, I thought you were my friend, but I guess I was mistaken…Brava
Brava I like you but that doesn’t mean I’m not gonna disagree with you when I think you are wrong, and I really hate seeing accusations slung around with no proof, and I see no proof of what you say.
I would have disagreed with you whether anybody else was or not, what they were doing had nothing to do with the way I feel on the subject
I have a lot of relatives in the Baltimore area and most blame that problem on the owner, not Wren. There was no question but that Cal treated that team like a fiefdom and there were hard feelings in the clubhouse because of it.
We’re done, nolie. I can prove what I said about Wren, I was reading up tonight on the lies he told at the end of the season. They’re there for anyone who wants to read them. What got me was your suggestion that I wasn’t allowed to post my opinion unless I could prove it. That’s absurd. An opinion can be partially based on conjecture. I’m sure an educated person like you knows that. Honestly, it hurt my feelings that you piled on with the otners. It’s not fun trying to respond to five or six people.who are critisizing everything you say. I felt like I was in some weird blog battle zone. But hey, I learned from it and will move on.
What got me was your suggestion that I wasn’t allowed to post my opinion unless I could prove it..Brava
that was not what I said, I said you should not post it as a fact without proof, a completely different thing. Whatever.
I would think you would have a little thicker skin after 24 years in the military, but if that’s the way you want it, sobeit.
Take care.
Hello everyone! The mystry of the Braves losing to pitchers with bad ERA’s? To be continued……Tune In, same Bat time, Same Bat channel…….Find out tomorrow what the offenses can do? Maybe BatMan , and Rboin can help the Braves figure it out? Stay tuned………Batman……..Batman…….
why would he sue?
Millions of folks get fired every year without suing
how many suits have you seen in baseball over a manager or GM getting fired?
I might be forgetting one but it certainly almost never happens, if it ever has

The reason you are a lightning rod on the blog is because you attack people on here and attempt to make them look stupid while boosting your own persona. There are several of you blogger-haters here that really stir up people.
My comment was about Chippers blog yet you lashed out at me. You’re classy man. Very classy.

VJ is a sick man. First he brings up Jerry Sandusky and then says bye boys and girls. He should be banned without a doubt.

VJ, for you even to suggest that someone would defend Jerry is beyond the pale. I will report this statement and hope appropiate action is taken.

Dirty Harry…..
I guess it would be ok with you for a blogger to take on the name Adolf Hitler as if it were a joke?
Just asking…………..?

But hey, I learned from it and will move on.

that was not what I said, I said you should not post it as a fact without proof, a completely different thing. Whatever.
I would think you would have a little thicker skin after 24 years in the military, but if that’s the way you want it, sobeit.
Take care.

Thanks John Leonard. I’m usually a pretty good judge of character and I don’t trust anything Frank says until it happens.

why would he sue?
Millions of folks get fired every year without suing
how many suits have you seen in baseball over a manager or GM getting fired?
I might be forgetting one but it certainly almost never happens, if it ever has
