Not negative at all when your star player shows that he can still produce in the clutch. Maybe he can inspire some of his under performing team mates to come around and play up to their abilities.
I think they just need to give Chip that gold glove this year. After all, itll balance out for when they completely robbed him of it in 08 when they gave it to Wright
Nice. I’m outside grilling dinner for the fam. We sit down to eat. Yell down to my son like 3 times that it’s time to eat. Finally he comes up and said “Chipper just hit a walk off HR”. I figured he was messin with me. Guess not.
Shame on me for not watching with them down 7-1 and deciding to grill instead.
Good for Chipper. Good for the Braves. Bad if you want Fredi Gonzalez fired.
No way anybody with half a brain throws Chipper the ball he missed or thew one he hit with a base open and I don’t care if he is the go ahead run or not.
If I’m making that call Freddi Freeman is gonna have to beat me – Not HOFer Chipper Jones. That was stupid but I’m real glad they weere stupid
Braves WIN in the 9th inning… How uncharacteristically Funny… They actually Beat the Phils One Game,,, and in the bottom of the 9th…. How Insane… Looking forward to hearing from DOB or CARROLL in the morning over this.
Braves are a resilent team no doubt. But winning games by being 5 or more down is not a formula for success. We need to beat teams down and not have to come back but I hope this fuels a long winning streak.

Incredible win. Just like in Washington earlier this season. But this team wins in SPITE of Fredi. Chipper for Manager.
*************************************************
Yup, except CHIPPER does not want the job. FREDI must go unless the BRAVES win the 3 of 5 playoff round.
Watching the 9th inning (rewinded mlb.tv)…. that error (or did they call it a hit) on Prado’s ball reminded me of the ball Chipper lost in the lights last year in Florida right before Infante hit the walk off HR.
Maybe tonight is the night that builds momentum. Maybe not. But either way it’s a game they should have lost that they did not.
When you compare that to all the games they should have won but lost down the stretch last year, and then calculate that they finished one game out?
You realize that simply one game swinging in their favor in the luck department, might be the difference.
This team has clearly shown that they are good enough to go on a hot streak that if they make it past that one game “play-in”, they just might do some damage. They have also shown that they are capable of losing 8 of 10 games at any moment.
Will they make it? Not sure.
Will they choke if they get “in”? Not sure.
Will they win the whole damn thing? Not sure.
But they do need to play better than they played for 26 of the 27 innings in this series if they want to not only make it in, but actually do something when they get there.
LOL As Chipper was jogging towards 3rd base I almost felt a tear coming. Just sort of an emotional thing because it being his last year ever and plus how bad the team needed this win.
Haters gotta hate…good to see that you will not succumb to giving the slightest bit of credit in your desire to being – well, I should be measured in my comments, or I will be mercilessly attacked for saying one negative thing about someone who plays the race card and continually spews hatred…
So, on second thought – never mind…keep up the excellent commenting!
I wonder how many of the doomsayers will apologize – not to me – to the Raves. Love Moylan not giving up on his comeback, symbolic of the Raves tonight. Chipper got the Raves out of a 4-game losing streak at the start of the season and started them on a winning streak. To paraphrase Bogart, this could be the continuation of a beautiful relationship.
FREDI must go unless the BRAVES win the 3 of 5 playoff round.
Sweet Lord, George, can you go one day….just one day without mentioning how much you don’t like Fredi. We get it. We really get it, George. You don’t like Fredi. But the Braves rally with a huge homerun from Chipper, and you’re still finding reason to complain about Fredi????
Wow. Even after a fun win you’ve got people bickering on here. Some things never changed. Actually…. I’ve changed. I still bitch. But as soon as I find myself wanting to type anything rude to anybody, I walk away.
Ah sweet valedictory fueled by that has been that everybody wants to see gone – plus a nice contribution by the Aussie reliever who also should be gone according to 3/4 of the bloggers!

Chipper: “we havent quit yet this year, no matter how far we’ve been behind. We got paid off for our perserverence today-it was a huge win for a club that was a little down in the dumps from the way we’ve been playing lately”
Yeah…I agree, please let all complaints rest–just redirect your thoughts to a more positive prefer process….it will good for you all….take this win, opportunity to enjoy. Let Peace prevail.
George_George…… Never went anywhere. Just had better things to do with my time that argue with the same people I will never meet. Easier to scroll, get my information and leave.
But it’s still entertaining. But it won’t ever be the same as it was 3-4 years ago when DOB was in regular conversations with the bloggers. Now most of what he blogs is just a repeat of what he tweets. Which is fine. We still get our “inside information”.
But most of what made this blog great years ago, was the constant conversations with DOB. Even the bickering over music and stuff like that. But now?
I could make you a list of which bloggers are going to be on at various hours of the day. Who they will be arguing with. Who will be bitching about what and who will be telling them to shut up. Who will be flying off the handle. Who will stick up for another blogger that isn’t around at that moment…. and so on…..
It’s like an episode of Andy Griffiith…… Funny, mildly entertaining….. but predictable.
Even the homers that think they are positive and optimistic are some of the biggest instigators on this blog.

Lee, as my kids have gotten older and kept me running, I’ve partly run out of time to gripe as much as i used to. LOL.
I still work from home and i’m constantly at my computer. But just don’t have the mental stamina anymore (I’m only 41), to spend 10 hours on the blog a day complaining, arguing and starting as many fights as i used to.
I’m like the “new and improved” Pedro Cerrano in Major League 2. LOL.
N8
A while back I wrote a long blog in story form, one of the comments from a blogger was “you are going all N8 on us” I don’t really know what he ment.
He may not be perfect, and who is, but i can actually say that Jones is a hero to me. An honest to goodness hero, few of which I’ve ever had. That homerun was electric. Wow, wow, wow!
Great win tonight. Chipper just keeps on impacting the game. But still we lost the series and are lucky to scrap out a win. Still lots of work the rest of the season, but maybe this will be the start of a hot streak!

Count.

If that was the last one, it was as joyous a few minutes as I have ever experienced with this bunch in over 35 years….
Thank you, Mr. Jones. That was nothing short of awesome!

LOL.

A while back I wrote a long blog in story form, one of the comments from a blogger was “you are going all N8 on us” I don’t really know what he ment.

I’m about to turn 45….
