How’s it going folks? Same ole same ole huh? You’re lucky the chasers are all losing or lost. Can you imagine where the Phil’s would be if they were healthy and had their starting outfield still there? Could be a 1-2-3. Bad news is Hammels who should be pitching shutout without error. Nope he walked just in time for the guy who hit a 3 run homer Friday. Face facts you guys are lost. What happened to Beechy? He’s excellent.
it´s sad watch this team….that happens when the GM dont trade for a good pitcher like Felix Hernandez dont matter if you needs to trade 2 big prospects..
How does us “thinking positively” have anything to do with the way the Braves play? I’m having trouble seeing the correlation between the two. Remote mind control has nothing to do with their lousy play, or vice versa.

We’re in the driver’s seat as regards the playoffs but seriously, how the f**k are the Phillies so far behind in the standings. They better get rid of their manager. I mean they have players like Utley and Howard and pitchers like Cliff Lee, Hamels, and Halladay. I don’t think we’re losing to that bad a team.
What kind of team is this? I feel bad for all Braves fans being subjiected to this BS. If they have any heart at all they’ll make a stand this week. Though nothing over the past two weeks offers any evidence that they will. Man two years in a row. Go Braves! Hey DOB we need Gram Parsons/Emmylou Harris “In My Hour of Darkness’ (off Grievous Angel-released 1974 a few months after Gram’s death in September 1973) and we need it now!
Medlen looks like the only bull n’ the ring we’ve got, while everyone else seems to dance around hitters w/ there pitch’n, he goes right after ‘em, good ball movement, snarls at em’ shows heart of a warrior out there, Hudson might have a little fight in ‘em, nearest thing to meds w/ heart, just leaves ‘em too far over the plate in the early inn.(s). Where are the bulls in our lineup. Cmon’ freeman, Heyward & Johnson show’n the heart right now. Be some bulls & mount a comeback guys, c’mon chipper, dig deep son, focus & heart to climb a mountain here.
The Jays saved 80 mil in that deal, and the Red Sox contracts were exactly why I excepted that team in my comment–they can afford a hit or two.
We are not the Red Sox.
Although we do play like them.
Of course anything is possible, but I really doubt the Braves move Uggla. After next year… maybe.
What I’ld like to know is; how did Simmons develope a forearm problem being on the DL with a broken pinkie finger? Are these players a gang of daiseys? They go on the DL for one thing and develope other problems. Why do they wait until they get to the Big League level before aquiring these major (in their minds) injuries? Also, what has happened to the STAR SS (Pastornicky) and the projected role he was going to play? Was that just another vision of Frank and Fredi?
come on phillie phanatic. you weren’t on here when the braves were owning us. i’d still trade places with them in a heart beat. i don’t like freddie gon’s attitude. stop acting like a little b*tch and show some fire. i don’t care what dan uggla’s splits are vs hamels. he should be in the lineup. even as a phillies fan, this guy is frustrating.
Should’ve, could’ve, but Naaawww! We like our team, could’ve added 2 young thumpers one for bench, one for LF or catch. Nah,Nah,Nah. ain’t gonna do it.
I am starting to get tired of seeing the Braves infielders always laughing and smiling with the opposition when they reach base. I am especially against it when the Braves are being embarrased by a 7-1 score.
Dang, is this game only half over? Seems like they have been playing for at least 3 hrs. now! As a frog would say, “times are fun when you’re having flies”.
I like Fredi G., but it may be time for a coaching change now. Seriously. Whatever Fredi does over the course of an entire season hasn’t worked for two years. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like this (and I am a very, very long time Braves fan). Both the 2011 and 2012 Braves played great for 4 1/2 months, then just fell apart. Meanwhile, Davey Johnson has his team still playing great and the Nats helped the Braves by beating the Cards today.
i think you are confused…you dont have to be a big market team to ttrade AWAY big contracts which is what the braves would be doing with uggla not taking his contract. we already have his contract. we r trying to get rid of it….you just have to find a team willing to take it….the whitesox, angels, and dodgers where the teams that TOOK those contracts…none of those where by the yankees or redsoxs. the redsoxs cleared the bad contracts…which is what the braves are trying to do with uggla. that is about as slow as i can explain it…if you still dont get it then…sorry
one more time though…braves are trying togetting rid of a bad contract which smaller market teams do all the time….not take one….it’s very doable.
Bill is absolutely correct. Frank Wren needs to wear the clown hat even more than the clueless Fredi. Wren went in to the season with no other plan than hope that last year’s FAIL was an aberration. With his frantic dealing (Jeff Baker ??? Miguel Batista?) Wren is acknowledging that he is desperate.
Frank “I like our club” Wren is the architect of this listing ship.
Yeh, ***TM**** next thing you know they will be “hugging” the opposing players like they do each other. Noticed that myself recently. Too much fraternization.
No matter what the final score is today, I don’t want to see Uggla’s or McCann’s mugs on the field for a good long time. Those two high-priced “keys in the lineup” provided nothing all year. I’d rather lose with Johnson, Ross, Baker, Overbay, or whoever.
I get tired of the players, the manager, the fans saying that the players are putting too much pressure on themselves.
HELLO! You can’t make the playoffs, win playoff games and go to a World Series if you can’t play under pressure! If you can’t play under pressure, you aren’t a playoff player or team.
Of course, the Braves seem like a team who have a bunch of high payroll guys who are happy just making the money and not producing.
Can’t win when the manager throws the offense under the bus publicly using June Cleaver terminology and then throws another lineup out of his Yahtzee cup.
Confidence-building is not Gonzalez’s strong suit.
Totally agree. I have a Braves fan since the 60’s and believe that Fredi is a bad match for the Braves. No one takes him serious and he seems lost as a manager. He should’ve gone to the minors and learned there first. It’s a shame he is experimenting with the Braves. Maybe Francona will be a good fit. Not sure but need someone with some fire!
How people can continue to blame Wren is beyond me. With a limited budget, dude has still assembled one of the most talented squads in the majors. He’s getting the groceries, Fredi just ain’t cooking.

Freddi G has little to do with Bmacs 220 and Ugglas 205. You have to look no further than that to find the problem of this year. Now, I don’t agree with all his moves at all but really the only gripe I have wityh him is two fold. He doesn’t argue enough which is a childish complaint but I think it showed that Bobby cared but it probably doesn’t equate into runs. The other is he sticks with guys not playing well too long. Lowe last year, Venters this year, Uggs this year and last year for that matter and over using Venters/Kimmy last year..
Really, what else can he do. He’s changed the order up, he gives guys days off, he never says a word negative about them…What he can’t do is hit the ball for them.
Heard a rumor that Uggla Is the player to be named later in the Baker trade.Uggla and 20 million in cash consideration. A little less than half of what the Braves owe him.
I really don’t know of another manager who would send a guy back out who had just given up five runs in the first inning while the team is trying to make the post-season. Maybe if Martinez had come into a clean inning, those two runners Maholm put on wouldn’t have scored. I guess it doesn’t really matter because it looks like the Braves aren’t going to score more runs anyway.
@The A Bomb: have to disagree about Fredi’s confidence building. He stuck with Uggla all season before finally admitting yesterday he’s going to think about how to use him now. He’s given Hanson ample opportunity to regain his form, gave JJ another shot, and generally praises players in post game quotes. What he lacks, I think, is managerial smarts and a failure to motivate.
But what did or could Freddi do about that either. We HAD to have a trade at the deadline. The Braves Nation was up in arms and had to have a trade so we traded a power arm for a nibbler. Now granted, other than today, Mahomie has been outstanding but again, what could Freddi do about that. Could a pinch hit for him in the 2nd, I think it was the 2nd, but its tough to go to the pen that early in a game especially when the guy has been so good.

Heard a rumor that Uggla Is the player to be named later in the Baker trade.Uggla and 20 million in cash consideration. A little less than half of what the Braves owe him.

My bad on that last post. How would anybody who spent big $$$$$$$ to go to the game today, have any idea as to who to boo?

I really don’t know of another manager who would send a guy back out who had just given up five runs in the first inning while the team is trying to make the post-season. Maybe if Martinez had come into a clean inning, those two runners Maholm put on wouldn’t have scored. I guess it doesn’t really matter because it looks like the Braves aren’t going to score more runs anyway.

If your starting pitcher gives up a 5 spot in the top of the first ,it kind of overshadows the managers shuffling the batting lineup.

Hey look, Batista pitched extremely well in the 6th inning. Maybe he should receive higher leverage innings, haha.

Hey DOB, Do the players seem snake beaten in the clubhouse? — mike
Yes, a couple of them did look as though they had been beaten with snakes.

My point is you don’t call them out publicly.
“I’m worried about the offense.”
Do it in your office. We all know what’s going on.
