Watching from up north and just heard the Philthies announcers say that the Braves are 15 for their last 110 with runners in scoring position….sounds about right….this is about as pathetic as it gets…

I hope the braves miss the play-offs and Fredi and Frank get their pink slips. I would have liked to see them in the post season but they would be a huge embarsement to the fans and the city of Atlanta. If they won the right for the one game playoff Fredi would probably start Hanson because he is that stupid.

Maholm has sucked to since he came here. Like most players that come here, they can be great before they come here, then they get struck by the Braves curse. Haven’t seen a lack of drive and determination from a team with a winning record like this in for ever.

Whew! Could you have a worse start to an important game? It is times like this when a manager is most valuable. The good ones are able to motivate their team, get inside their heads/hearts and make adjustments that get things turned around. The very best coaches are masters at this aspect of team management. Lombardi was a master. Coach K is another example. With his own unique low key management style, I thought Bobby Cox had this rare gift. You can’t win 14 straight division titles without being very good at sizing up your players, the team, their morale/mood and then knowing what buttons to push. This most important aspect of management just may not be Fredi’s strength.

As unlikely as the math looks – I wouldn’t be surprised to see these Phillies playing in October. They’re a very different team than the one that the Braves played earlier this year…

Its tough to be positive today. Short of Yawnish and Teeen in the field nothing positive to report.
Terrible ABs by Freeman and Ross with runners on 2nd and 3rd.
Mahomie throwing meat and not covering 1B when he should.
Then to top it off, Uggla complaining about not starting because he hit a dinger one time off Hamels. Yet, last time they held him out against Hamels ity was genious because he looked as if he may be coming around and didn’t want his confidence being destroyed. Of course we now know he didn’t come around. Can you imagine complaining about not playing when you are leading the league in Ks and batting 205??

I think the main reason the media isn’t more critical of Fredi is that the team has had juuuuuuust enough success. If they collapse again, it’s the lions in the Coliseum and Fredi is the bait.

I’m not sure Fredi deserves all the blame here, guys. Cox fizzled every year when it counted most, too–he just waited until the playoffs to do it on a bigger stage.
And I loved Bobby. But this team suffers from some kind of inferiority complex. It has been coursing through the arteries of their anatomy for years. Regardless of the player and coaching changes they make, they’re just faders. They are the Greg Norman’s of MLB. Some brilliant strokes throughout, but just can’t finish at the end.
At least Fredi has the nads to sit his boy Struggla as well as the future of the franchise, McCan’t. No way would Bobby have meddled with their egos the way Fredi has.

well jeffery, Larry Drew has won more with less yet, Fredi hasnt caught any criticism from the Atlanta media. At least Mike Smith has caught some where the writers are saying he needs to win 1 playoff game. Fredi has choked a 10 game wild card lead last year and is in the process of choking again yet Bradley and Schultz are giving him a pass. I personally wish we had a different basketball coach but if your gonna call out Larry Drew then Mike Smith and most certainly Fredi Gonzalez deserve more heat than Larry Drew.
