Poll: Which NL GM Made The Best Offseason Moves?
By Daniel Seco [September 2 at 9:00pm CST]
Which NL GM Made The Best Offseason Moves?
Poll question on MLBTR right now… Rizzo is in the lead (obviously). Frank Wren somehow got 4% of the vote… surprising, since he didn’t make any moves… however, he did make the right decision.
And to add on that — nolie made a point that it might not launch a streak — Braves lost the next night — but they went from 11-under to 8-over in a heartbeat…..actually were on the fringes of challenging in the final 2 weeks but ran out of gas. That was a group of bombers….then there was the great….Luis Gomez out of UCLA. Swung with a wet newspaper.
So as for tonight, hopefully it will launch some consistent baseball among these guys for the final 4 1/2 weeks.
Well MLB network mentioned that Uggla shouted for one. Again that could have been overblown but if Bowman mentioned he was upset then I am pretty sure some loud words were uttered.
Anyway Fredi will have to sit him more with Johnson playing well and play Prado at 2nd. Can’t see anything but that really. Uggla’s starts will be fewer for sure. Ditto McCann.
It was a nice win indeed. VJ tell you I was starting look for work out in your neck of the woods? Started to by applying for the open Engineering Manager position for the city of Pasadena.

So N8 is all grown up now. No more blog arguements, that’s a damn shame. I remember a time when there was no point so small N8 could not give you 300 words on it. Entertaining
You’re an ahole, VJ, moreso than any other single blogger i’ve yet seen here. It’s too bad and it’s why I prefer you leave me be as I have you for months now.
My guess is the Uggla unhappiness was overblown a bit. Hopefully the benching will jump start him. Fredi must take a hard stand here no matter how much history the two have or how much he makes. It’s Fredi’s call 100%.
Loved how Chipper called out all the fans that left earlier because of how shytty the team has been playing, and how so many of you are just so estatic about this win. Might I remind you all and Chipper that the series was still lost and it’s been awhile since we’ve seen a series win. Since when is winning 1 outta 3 games viewed as an acceptable option?
Three hours before the game, Jones had said this when asked about putting the slumping offense on his back: “I’d be lying if I said two outs bases loaded, bottom of the ninth inning I want anybody else up there but me. That’s just the mentality that I’ve always had. And that’s never going to stop. I don’t care if I’m 40 or 60.”
Gimme a C for Confidence, an H for Hall of Famer, an I for Incredible, a P for Production, another P for Papelbon Who?, an E for Effortus Maximus and an R for Retirement, really?

No, I’m not – you can say anything you want to say, and the slightest reply to you and you become so offended. I find your contributions to the blog to be valuable, but, as you just proved, you really have no ability to take what you love to dish out. And I have ignored you because you are way too immature to understand what give and take is about, and because I enjoy many of your posts. Your unhealthy obsession with what you incorrectly perceive to be a weight problem with BMac is the prime example of why your commentary is so often taken by normal people to be negative and insidious. I did not address you by name here, just pointed out that you insane comparison of being competitive to being a raving lunatic was absurd. Your desire to defend your amazingly inept position, and to respond by calling me a name, shows that you are probably not as worthy of respect as I have attempted. I promise never to respect you again, unless you apologize immediately…
Not that I expect you to do so…you have shown your true colors by such an immature remark – for someone who made it clear that using the F word was a sign of classless immaturity, look what you have done to yourself..
Wow, VJ can you spend one night on this blog without continuously baiting others and then launching one of your condescending diatribes when someone responds?
Thanks, guys & gals! Still surfing on that great adrenalin rush! So looking forward to being there for the Chipper tribute. Dare we ask the BB gods to let him hit another mammo that night?
Hey, just sayin…They averted the sweep and won the battle, but they still lost the war losing 2 of 3. Keep that up and they won’t get a chance to watch Hudson blow the wild card game that Medlen deserves the right to pitch in.
And that is another sore point. I don’t ever get pissed about losing a game any more because I just don’t wanna spend my time being miserable about it, but if the wild card game does happen and Hudson pitches it and blows is as I believe he would, then I think I might get really pissed about that. I hope not though. I’ve become a huge fan of Medlen. He’s the real deal and I’m looking forward to a great season from him next year.
T, heck yeah I watched it! I always watch the entire games. That homer of Chipper’s was a thing of beauty. I must admit, I was stunned at first and it took a few seconds for what had happened to sink in. It brought me to tears.
I’m so glad Pap was arrogant enough to think he could blow another fastball by Chipper. Made my day and night!
Ha! nolie, I hope you don’t think all soldiers are uneducated idiots. The Army actually requires its career enlisted members to attend college if they wish to advance to the upper ranks. I had gone to college before I joined the Army, as well.

On a night where we should be celebrating, I am condescending when I am called a name for defending being a fan? I realize that you do not like me, but think about what you are accusing me of here…

Braves had no one on, 2 out and I think Ron Cey made an error, Braves kept it going until Hub launched the 3-run homer off Stanhouse.
