DiamondbackMac – Thanks for posting that tweet. Chipper’s earned his right to relax with that icepack on his shoulder and knees. I don’t know if you 40 or +, but I don’t see how he still does it.
I posted Chipper’s tweet because I’m an Alabama fan. And, I didn’t see anything negative about the tweet. Apparently you’re the only one who can find negativity where none exists. That is very telling.
And as far as negativity — I just don’t understand WHY he had to include the baseball statement with the football stuff. Bama stuff was fine…..but in the final month of a career — that little blurb about baseball hits me the wrong way. Just leave it out.
Teammate reading that? Not sure as a leader that’s what you want to say. But Tweeting is the new way to express yourself to the masses, I guess.

yeah Jericho was decent. second season is short. I think they made a major mistake in the last episode of season one. see if you pick up on what I mean when you see it
We are 2/3 of the way through this sweep that I said was gonna happen. Frankly, it doesn’t really matter to me if we make the playoffs or not for one simple reason. I heard the other day that Fredi intends to try to manipulate the rotation so that Hudson pitches that one-game wild card playoff. That is just plain dumb to me. The Braves have only one pitcher that can be counted on to win that game, you we all know that it is Medlen. If anyone else is selected, then the Braves deserve to get their asses handed to them.
Why would you tell the world you don’t want to talk baseball? Just leave it alone. People who love the guy don’t want to hear that. Say nothing IMO. We all know it’s been a tough 2 weeks. Leave it alone and spew all you want after you’re done. He’s a hero to too many people.

Wasn’t trying to be impressive nolie. And you’re right, I bet a lot of people said the same thing. They are in the midst of their downfall. I agree on Eddie, but only to a certain extent. Eddie tends to play around and joke a lot. Terry seems to be more disciplined, and I think this team needs to get some discipline. Just my opinion however.

well shucks, even go to hell is not all THAT bad, what I mind is the constant repitition during a game, it is just non-stop and nasty and the same stupid boring stuff over and over, and I think much of it is just a few posters using multiple names trying to make everybody else as unhappy as they are. That gets old quick
Funny jeffrey d. My thought process is real simple. Just because he sucked as a batting coach, doesn’t mean that will carry over to being manager. Like when I was on the fire department. I can’t tell you how many times I saw really good fire truck drivers get promoted to Lieutenant and stink to high heaven at the new job.
Since 2009, Braves are 39-42 in the month of September… add in the October games to end the reg. season in 2009-10, the Braves are 42-48. However, the only 2 years that the Braves have losing records for the last month of play, they were missing players (Prado and Chipper in 2010, Hanson and JJ last year)
Guys, not to bring up such depressing and awful events again, and I’m sorry, but we lost out little boy one week ago. Things like this are traumatic and you quickly realize what’s really important in this world we’re living in.
Side stuff like your hobby’s and passions always have their places in your life and will in mine, too. We all need to express ourselves and have that distraction. I’d go crazy if I didn’t have an outlet of some kind like I do blogging here, watching the Braves, kickin back with family and friends, etc.
it is less painful being a regular pessimist. if things go bad you are already at least partially prepared for it, and if they go good, it is a special treat…..
I’ve also quickly learned the people I thought were cold, or not caring in my life are decent people. I think most people are good, they just let their problems or whatever prevent it from getting out. We all really do need each other, as corny as that sounds.
it is less painful being a regular pessimist. if things go bad you are already at least partially prepared for it, and if they go good, it is a special treat…..nolie
Eliminated form the APPY League finals 2-1. Season concluded.

LEXINGTON counters with a vengence and a no-hit shutout of the Legion today. Ouch!
No need of posting up offensive numbers, they would just be offensive!
Hey, Dadgum….PAT SCOGGIN pitched well today. The only one of four hurlers who didn’t make one blogger hurl. Pitched an eighth inning of pristine relief
I guess there’s just nothing in sports in which you can put much faith. I try to be optimistic but why?
Let’s say GA wins another football title someday. Odds are it will be stripped eventually anyway due to who knows what violation. Look at Penn State. What an awful sports fan nightmare. And I do not mean to lessen what happened there. 15 seasons stricken from the books? Good grief. Why get so emotionally invested if that crap stands to happen? I’m rambling…..

I just want to see consistency out of this team for a season — doesn’t matter about playoffs.
The last 2 seasons with pretty good records BTW have been pretty painful to watch at times.
The one thing you know I agree with Fredi about is “moving the lineup.” That’s much more entertaining (to me).

Y’know, I honestly would not mind giving TP a chance at running the team. He definitely couldn’t do any worse than the milktoast we currently have.

However, the only 2 years that the Braves have losing records for the last month of play, they were missing players (Prado and Chipper in 2010, Hanson and JJ last year)
2009: 17-10 in Sept, 17-14 Sept/Oct
2010: 13-14 in Sept, 14-16 Sept/Oct
2011: 9-18 in Sept.
It changes this year!

I don’t even think that Terry was a bad hitting coach at all, we ranked fairly high offensively most seasons while he was there

Funny, because we missed the playoffs in 2009 but barely made it in 2010

Guys, not to bring up such depressing and awful events again, and I’m sorry, but we lost out little boy one week ago. Things like this are traumatic and you quickly realize what’s really important in this world we’re living in.
Side stuff like your hobby’s and passions always have their places in your life and will in mine, too. We all need to express ourselves and have that distraction. I’d go crazy if I didn’t have an outlet of some kind like I do blogging here, watching the Braves, kickin back with family and friends, etc.
Somehow all that is not nearly important anymore.

Your leader has to pick the right pieces and then get those pieces to work together as a team.
Look at Joe Gibbs. 3 super bowl titles with the Redskins. 3 Nascar championships.
Totally different sports. Didn’t matter. That man knows how to lead and how to win.

it is less painful being a regular pessimist. if things go bad you are already at least partially prepared for it, and if they go good, it is a special treat…..

I’ve also quickly learned the people I thought were cold, or not caring in my life are decent people. I think most people are good, they just let their problems or whatever prevent it from getting out. We all really do need each other, as corny as that sounds.

I am very sorry to hear that CTB & in the big picture yes, following sports is nothing compared to that personal trauma.
I wish both of you the best as you try your best to work on recovering on that loss.
I hope I did not say anything wrong on that cause I just cannot imagine that kind of loss. Peace be with you & your family.

The Lance Armstrong thing really bugs me.
