Tomorrow’s a new day – oh wait, Hamels pitches tomorrow…
The bottom of the 7th should progress quickly for Lee with Uggla, Janish, and a pinch hitter due.
FIRE FREDI GONZALEZ
Bowling Green chokes. It looks like this game is fixed.
TarHeel 1We have a playoff team but no manage
September 1st, 20126:21 pm
McCann 6 lob
This is the most streaky team in baseball. There’s just no consistency.
They are either losing 8 of 10 or winning 8 of 10. No in-between.
McCann needs to sit and watch for a while! MERCY
Two strike outs for Uggla today. Surely he is playing his final month in a Braves uniform.
Lil' Barry Bailout
Strike two was a fastball down the pipe. I guess Uggla doesn’t like those.
September 1st, 20126:22 pm
FIRE FREDI GONZALEZ, didi you see Vanderbilt get robbed the other night? Thats college football.
As a Braves fan going back many years, I think it might actually be better for the club if it did NOT get a wild card, Obviously, Atlanta is a better-than-.500 reasonably good team but NOT among the top tier and would have little or no chance in the playoffs. Fredi is a nice guy who would be successful as a coach, but, truthfully, he needs to be replaced. If the Braves get a wild card, he will be around next season. The team needs to be restructured, bring in some new faces. This bunch collapsed BIG TIME last year and seems quite ready to do it AGAIN with the same manager and most of the same players. Use the core of good players, get a new manager, and get rid of some dead wood.
Does anyone know if the booing has started yet?
September 1st, 20126:24 pm
Should of pinch hit for McCann see if we could hurt his feelings. Please Carroll do you have to get postgame comments. We know Freddi will say Huddy gave us a chance to win and we had a few chances to score but the ball didnt fall in the right spot. Maybe Freddi should have someone kick him in the ass instead of patting him in the back. But all we have to do is lose every series and we dont have to look stupid like last time we made it. This team needs to be blown up. Keep Freeman, heyward, Prado, Simmons, Medlen Krimbel and O Flaraty and the hell with the rest. OH FIRE the loser .
Marlins GM on Uggla:
“If somebody wants to give him five years, good luck to them,” Florida owner Jeffrey Loria said during the November’s General Managers Meetings. “He’s 31 years old.”
Another contract that the Braves will have to eat.
September 1st, 20126:25 pm
Every call went against Vandy. That non-call on the pass interference was absurd. The conferences have too much invested in the top ranked teams winning.
September 1st, 20126:26 pm
Yet another weak pop. A Braves specialty.
September 1st, 20126:27 pm
How do all you positive McCann lovers feel about him now?
September 1st, 20126:28 pm
Nice debut for Jeff Baker. Theoretically he is a good addition, but nobody comes over to the Braves and meets or exceeds expectations.
September Swoon Redux
September 1st, 20126:29 pm
Seriously, didn’t any of you see this weekend series shaping up like this before it started? Fans were idiots to think that the Braves would continue to dominate the Phils. The Phils are playing free and easy and better and the Braves are playing like they have a chicken bone stuck in their necks.
It’s not fun being right when you say the Braves are gonna choke again, but the proof is playing in front of you right now.
September 1st, 20126:30 pm
Guys i know we love the braves ut im going to jump on the Washington bandwagon. I mean i still love LaRoche and its something to be excited about. Besides Im a fan of harper his hustle and everything,,,wish we had more of that. Let ATL fall this month im rootin the nationals on and hope they kill STL. tired of bein upset all the time
September 1st, 20126:31 pm
I like McCann. I’m not happy to see his shoulder injured and suffering eye issues. He’s suckin’, but I take no pleasure in that.
I hope they do choke again (which they are doing)and maybe Fredi will be fired.
September 1st, 20126:32 pm
Ric Flair to Right
September 1st, 20126:33 pm
Its hard to watch how quickly Mccann’s skills have erroded. This is his 7th full season catching in Hotlanta, I think he’s just came to the later part of his career.
September 1st, 20126:34 pm
Solid season debut for Moylan.
September 1st, 20126:35 pm
So no love for Moylan?……………..got a 1-2-3 inning so better than anyone else today I believe…
Good Job PETAH MOYLAN…..welcome Back
Bring on the FAT LADY its over
September 1st, 20126:36 pm
Let The Collapse of the 2012 Atlanta Braves commense immediately.. this team is a joke…. Same Manager that didnt deserve to be brought back whatsoever after last yr…. same core of players.. equals collapse # 2
September 1st, 20126:38 pm
How would you like to be the pitcher facing the Braves and you get to McCann Uggla Janish and the pitcher That means ifyou dont homer you get shutout like today and tomorrow. Oh well wait til next year April May June and July.
Johnny Bench was largely done at 33 and Javy Lopez at 32. McCann looks like he’s in trouble at 28.
Braves have been pretty blessed at catcher over the years though.
I just want them to score a run. Getting shut out as frequently as the Braves do is inexcusable.
September 1st, 20126:39 pm
The Fredi Face is back. The blank stare. The clueless look. Wren can’t be liking this. Let’s let TP fire this bunch up. Fredi must go.
I type my message about getting shutout and then they score a run! awesome.
September 1st, 20126:40 pm
Someone on the blog or the one before this one called today’s game a 5-1 loss………..Prado may have sealed the deal……
I don’t understand… McCann put on a pear of glasses. How can we still be losing?
September 1st, 20126:41 pm
The A Bomb
September 1st, 20126:42 pm
Disgusted. 5-1 today, 7-2 tomorrow.
Not a BUMB prediction. Not going to be Booed.
DOB – Truth is September arrived about 10 days ago.
September 1st, 20126:43 pm
CRANK UP THAT CHOP BAYBEE
I can remember when I used to get excited when the 3 – 4 – 5 batters were coming up. Really, for years, there has not been much of a difference between them and 6 – 7 – 8.
vitriol spewer (phil)
September 1st, 20126:44 pm
Bench and Lopez weren’t big as a house and half blind.
Mac is totally screwed up mechanically and half blind, which i think is the actual problem, and hurting in the shoulder, or else his refusal to get in shape, ever, has caught up to him already.
Who knows. But if I’m Wren, Mac has one choice and one only. Drop the weight by ST next year or goodbye.
I seriously think were gonna miss the playoffs. You can see it on there faces.
September 1st, 20126:45 pm
September 1st, 2012
because they were, in fact, a PEAR and he ate em…..
September 1st, 20126:47 pm
Uggla is so pitiful. If I looked at a box score and saw that he went 3-4 or even 3-5, I’d rub my eyes and look again to make sure I read it right. Then I’d check another paper or web site to see if it was a typo. Then I’d check to see if they were errors that the scorekeeper, Mike Uggla, gift wrapped for him.
Lord that 6,7,8,9 canyon in the order is where rallies go to die.
It’s hard to see how this team competes in the playoffs.
Right now, Uggla and Mac look completely washed up.
Jason may be much better but he’s still dumb as a brick….
September 1st, 20126:48 pm
Seriously, will Heyward ever figure out to take those sliders off the plate from lefties. He is extremely susceptible to that slider off the plate, almost the point where you can predict that he will strike out whenever he faces lefties on that pitch.
September 1st, 20126:49 pm
That LET’S GO CHIPPER chant has to be bugging the crap out of Gonzalez. Too much emotion.
I guess the only way the Braves can score now is hitting a HR.
September 1st, 20126:50 pm
And Mac’s body has taken on the unmistakable pear shape. Although to be fair, wasn’t the curvy, hourglass body contour considered quite attractive in the 40’s and 50’s?
September 1st, 20126:51 pm
This team is done.
One person got excited over Prado.
Yeah, sure most on this blog don’t think we’re sinking in the do do again.
September 1st, 20126:52 pm
Mac is half blind and Uggla is half smart.
September 1st, 20126:53 pm
Mac is throwing away his career and shortening his life. It really does bother me. The life part especially.
Miguel Batista is such a waste of space.
September 1st, 20126:55 pm
Same with Hinske…..
You get attched to these doofs on some level, ya know?
September 1st, 20126:58 pm
I broke up with Hinske last year
The mentality of this club in general…..hold hands and all together now…..slump!
September 1st, 20126:59 pm
Dan Uggla = Jason Bay
They get those big contracts so there is no reason to keep taking them ‘roids.
I am sure the intentional walk of Howard will backfire for Batista.
just sitting here reading these comments….I was called some ugly things last night for speaking the truth. There are many blind sheep who don’t want to hear the truth….which is this team needs to be blown up.
September 1st, 20127:01 pm
Who said the braves are the best sports team in atlanta?
September 1st, 20127:04 pm
Come on Braves–WAKE THE f UP!
September 1st, 20127:05 pm
This team desperately needs to cut down on their strike outs.
Roseanne the Usher still screaming away….
Fire sale will start on 04 OCT. Maybe we can find a sucker like LA to take our dead weight.
September 1st, 20127:06 pm
FIRE FREDI, FIRE FREDI, FIRE FREDI.
September 1st, 20127:08 pm
Gonzalez might make a good mortician.
Yeah, a base hit for Uggla!
September 1st, 20127:09 pm
My freakin’ hero!
Single should keep him over .200 for another day or two.
September 1st, 20127:10 pm
Leading the Wildcard and looking like this today—oh, ok it’s just the way baseball works—so many factors my pea brain can’t fathom…I know, we have time–Uggla & Co. could turn this thing around!
September 1st, 20127:11 pm
The Uggla tease….bet Fredi just saw it as….”Danny’s making progress there in the ninth….gotta keep running out there…..gotta get him going down the stretch….”
Fredi….the stretch is here and Uggla ain’t goin’ nowhere
September 1st, 2012
Sid, threr are a lot of folks on this bolg who wear rose colored glasses and think FREDI is a good MGR and there is nothing wrong with BRAVES.
September 1st, 20127:12 pm
Game over. Yet another loss. This team refuses to win.
September 1st, 20127:13 pm
Ho hum, Fredi’s dumb.
Backfoot slider….gets back@ss batter to end one boring MLB game…..Poooooo!
BALLGAME or should I say SEASON?
September 1st, 20127:15 pm
Many sabergeeks around here would NEVER call it a choke. It would be called…. a malfunction.
Can’t wait for the analysis from the Star Trek convention tomorrow.
Looks like a sweep is in the offing. I highly doubt the Braves get to Hamels tomorrow.
September 1st, 20127:16 pm
No not end of season. We still have CHIPPER night to look forward to.
George-George….noticed that the ones who atttacked me last night are not on here tonight. I’ve been a Braves fan in 1970’s, but just don’t care much anymore. I felt Chipper was selfish to keep coming back for the big money instead of retiring a couple of years ago and letting someone else have the opportunity. this has become a sad franchise really.
Grandpa gave away his Season Tickets
September 1st, 20127:18 pm
Rejoice! There is good news! There is good news for the Braves!!!!!…
Football Season is here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For 22 years I was a season ticket holder. This year I gave my season tickets away to a Boys Club. I will never buy another Braves ticket as long as this current group, Liberty, owns them. To them it is not about the game. The Braves talk “play the game the right way”…., but it is all talk. Uggly has been a drain on this team since the first day he came and struck out! He is a head case and he has killed this team. Winners make winners! Losers suck everyone else down to his pathetic level. He loses more games than he helps us win! To continue with him and to keep running Tommy Hanson out there, reminds me of Einsteins definition of insanity …., “continue doing the same thing expecting different results”! It ain’t gonna change!
Go Dogs! Go Tech!, Go Falcons….., Go Away Liberty Media and your pathetic Braves ownership…………..
September 1st, 20127:19 pm
Well that was certainly inspiring. Go Braves!
GO FOR IT USC! they can’t keep you from winning title this year.
It’s all good…folks, do be careful driving home, and thanks for coming–thanks for supporting these 2012 Atlanta Braves. Our Champions Deck seats for the game Monday are on sale at ticket booth kiosks by the stadium exits….Y’all, again, take care….hope you enjoyed your 3oz. $15.00 Rathburn steak sambich today as well. ,,,,,,And, GO BRAVES,,,,,,
McCann and Uggla and Lowe shows why the Braves shouldnt pay any player 10 mil.If we want to win next no to McCann and Hudson options. Trade Hanson and UGGLA but how and FIRE FREDDI tonight because another Sept. meltdown is here.
Wren has to seriously consider firing Fredi and NOT exercising the options on Huddy and Mac. simply wasted money.
If he can find somebody to take Uggla off his hands at about half the cost? DUMP HIM.
All this time there really never has been a fire sale in Atlanta. Always just trying to hang on and kid themselves they are 1 or 2 minor tweaks away. Not willing to take 1 step back to take 2 or 3 steps forward.
The bottom line is that the most worthless guys on the roster right now are the ones making the most.
Kind of sad actually.
September 1st, 20127:20 pm
Tomorrow Phils 6 Braves 0
September 1st, 20127:22 pm
Grandpa…..best comments I have read here. and how generous of you to give those tickets to those kids.
Same old useless Sept Braves…CHOKE !
September 1st, 20127:26 pm
Going on sale at your Braves Clubhouse collection store. The Atlanta Braves 2012 Deja Vu Tour t-shirt so you can enjoy the 2011 collapse all over again. One size fits all ,just a little tight around the neck opening.
You know something @N8—I agree with your post and, never really thought I’d feel that way….however just like in my experience in life–most really financially rich folks do not truly deserve to be rich….sadly and tellingly, like those players listed in your post.
September 1st, 20127:30 pm
You are ‘cookin’ @GrandPa! Excellent Post sir!
September 1st, 20127:31 pm
September is here! It’s the Fall!
…of the Braves
September 1st, 20127:32 pm
The day Wren said he thought The Braves have what it takes to be a World Series team, I thought…oh no. They’ve been sliding since then. I wonder f Gonzalez has the make up to keep a team stable when it comes down to brass tacks ? I sure don’t feel ESPN’s math showing a 80+ percentage probability of the team making the playoffs is at all accurate when the human element is factored in. I wouldn’t give them better than a 50/50 chance.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
